Christine peered at the contents. "A half dozen of the one hole bridies and a pound of shortbread," she said, a soft Celtic lilt to her voice when she spoke to the shopkeep. She tilted her head. "And two quarters of Berwick cockle. That's in addition to the Irn-Brus," she said.

Tash just watched Chris and Karina go through the store, she hoped that one of the days they planned for shopping that she could slip away and see Conchar. She hoped he was there and hadn't said anything about visiting him yet as he could be rather scary and scaring them was the last thing on her mind. That and she didn't even know if he was still there.

"I just hope you two like what I picked out for the meal," she said, blushing a bit. "I don't want you to have a bad experience with Earth food."

"I'm sure it will be great, and if it makes you feel better; Conchar beat you to the bad experience, he fed me sauerkraut when I was a kid." Tash said with a disgusted face, she hated sauerkraut.

Christine wrinkled her nose. "That is disgusting stuff. Ew."

With a smile, Karina asked, having never tried the food in question, "I take it that whatever that sauerkraut stuff is, it's pretty disgusting to just about everyone and that I should be grateful to have never tasted it?"

"Pretty much. It's sour cabbage. Meck." She brushed her bangs off her forehead and smiled. "Okay, since we have lunch, let's head down to the beach."

Having changed into her pink two-piece bathing suit, made semi-modest by the matching sarong she had tied around her hips, Karina followed Christine and Tash down the beach. Eying the area critically in search of a good place to settle down, Karina pointed to a location up ahead that offered some privacy but was still close to the water's edge. "What do you guys think of that place?"

"This is fine, Karina," Christine said, taking her heels and her sundress, revealing a rather small two piece. She settled down on a towel and smiled. It was nice to relax for once.

Briefly looking up at the bright sun, Karina smiled as she spread a large towel out on the sand before unceremoniously plopping down on it. "Looks like it's the perfect day to get a tan," she remarked as she fought the urge to pull out one of her books - today she was determined to experience something other than reading.

Christine's blue eyes sparkled as she watched the others appear on the beach. "Oooh, la la," she purred, nudging Karina and Tash. "Take a look at that," she said, pointing to a young man in a short pair of swim trunks. "Sky wishes he was that hot."
OOC: the irony would be hilarious

Tash just laughed and sat back, boy watching wasn't something she had ever done or thought about doing but it was amusing to watch other people watching people.

Blushing as the young man in question glanced their way, Karina averted her gaze and instead turned her attention to pinning her hair back into a wispy bun. She had never done well when it came to interacting with guys or even discussing them without turning crimson, which was unfortunate, Karina thought with a sigh, because she had a feeling that pretty soon this beach was going to be crowded with them. She should have known as much, but somehow in her excitement about traveling to the beaches, the fact that there were going to be half-naked guys walking around had slipped her mind.

Christine slipped on a pair of shades, which slide down her nose as she stared at the dog that was with the young man. "All that's holy... is that... it's not... That's not Sky's dog, Lady, is it?" she asked. "Please tell me that's not Sky and Lady. Please."

"We are on a beach on Earth, what's Sky going to be doing here? Besides none of us told him where we were going did we? But that does look like Lady but then I'm sure many dogs look like Lady." Tash inquired looking for something to do, she really didn't stay still very well.
