OOC: happens before this and after this
Christine stood in the observatory, staring out at the distance. It was during the early hours of the morning - no-one was awake (at least that she knew of). She heaved a sigh and leaned against the railing. Her face rested against the back of her hand.
A small wind started to pick up and blew through her dark hair, causing some locks of hair to end up in her face and making her brush the hair out of her eyes. Her hair was slowly starting to get longer - growing out of her boy cut. As it stood right then, her hair was long enough to make a small ponytail that ended directly at her shoulders. She debated about cutting it but eventually decided against it. To hell with hiding - almost everyone had figured out she was female by then. Some people just couldn't keep their mouths shut.
She hopped up onto the ledge and pulled the golden flute out and started to play it absently. She was no where near the same skill level as her godfather, Sir Giles, but her playing was passable. Of course, she was careful to not play one certain song - the one that when played put dragons to sleep. The whole point of this was for her to just unwind - not stress herself out. Which thinking about what happened to Sky was doing. She'd stress or headache herself into an early grave at this rate.
"I wonder when Sky's going to realize that he can fly?" she asked herself quietly, a wry grin dancing across her features before she returned to playing. That would be amusing, highly amusing. Of course, that could lead to all manner of chaos - which was not amusing. Bother that.
Her hair and bits of her nightgown continued to flutter on the wind. She looked the image of a "fairy princess" - something that she would violently deny - at the moment. That meant she was far too feminine for her own liking - and she most decidedly wasn't feminine - at least... not that often... A rare moment of tranquility had settled on her - one that probably wouldn't come again for a long time. She set down her flute and quietly sang.
"There's a part in me you'll never know - the only thing I'll never show... Hopelessly, I'll love you endlessly... Hopelessly, I'll give you everything but I won't give you up... I won't let you down and I won't leave you falling... If the moment ever comes... It's plain to see it's trying to speak, cherished dreams forever asleep... Hopelessly, I'll love you endlessly... Hopelessly, I'll give you everything but I won't give you up... I won't let you down and I won't leave you falling... If the moment ever comes... Hopelessly, I'll love you endlessly... Hopelessly I'll give you everything but I won't give you up... I won't let you down and I won't leave you falling... But the moment never comes..."
She sighed again and stared over her right shoulder. Curse her wistful mood. It would spell nothing but trouble for her. Her eyes narrowed as she thought she heard something. Ah, hell's bells, she left her bow and arrow back in her dorm. "Who's there?" she asked, whipping her head around to look in the direction of the noise.
