Christine laughed quietly. "Yeah, that's me. A fairy princess who thinks she could be just as good as the boys. Besides, with my stunning lack of winx, I think being a Specialist was a better choice for me."

Begrudgingly, Riven admitted, "You're something else, Chris - I can honestly say that I don't know one other girl like you." This was as close as Riven would allow himself to admit that he held respect for Chris. Not sure if she understood what he was really saying, he added roughly, "But if you tell anyone I said that, I'll just deny it, so there's no use trying to spread it around. No one would believe you anyway."

Christine drew two pinched fingers across her lips. "Lips are sealed," she said quietly. She accepted the small compliament - knowing that was about all she was going to get out of Riven.

"Good," Riven replied briskly. "Now then, perhaps you should tell me more about this situation - so that I can be prepared to fight when the time comes." Returning to his usual egotistical self, he continued, " After all, I'm more likely than not the only Specialist who would be capable of fighting off this Ommadon, especially now that that idiot Sky isn't a man anymore."

"Some of the monsters Ommadon would be sure to send is either an orge or a worm, and I mean the wingless kind of dragon." She sighed. "The best way to defeat the worm is dragon's breath. If you use a sword, cut it into a thousand pieces, then you'd be fighting a thousand worms."
She leaned against the barrier against and looked at him. "I don't know about the ogre. He might be more difficult."

Riven snorted, "Ogres? Are you kidding? That's like first-year battle tactic material." Riven sarcastically droned on, "Not that I paid all that much attention in the actual class, but really all you need to know are in those dusty, smelly old textbooks."

"Sure, if the ogre were normal size," Christine said, giving him a Look. "We're talking giant sized ogre. The kind that has skin of leather so fire and sword can't affect it." She crossed her arms over her chest and looked away. "And why do I have a feeling that you weren't the only one that didn't pay attention?"
She let out a soft sigh. "Fighting the Ogre of Gormly Keep is not going to be a walk in the park. Our dragon prince might be able to fight him - if he bothers to learn how to be a dragon."

"Oooh no, I don't think so." Riven suddenly straightened up to give a full protest. "Sky and I may not be bosom buddies, but no way am I going to let you think for a second that we are going to actually go along with this dragon-gig."

"Don't you think it'd be just a little suspicious that we have a dragon that a) can talk and b) doesn't know how to breath fire or fly?" Christine countered. "Besides, what if Breog comes back? A lot of good we did fighting him," she pointed out. "Sky's the only one who could fight him and possibly win."
Never mind the fact that Sky fighting Breog wouldn't end with a knight getting crisped and dying.
