"Sounds like a match made in heaven," Layla teased lightly as she scanned the crowd for Stella. Glancing back at Christine, she said with a smile, "And who knows? Maybe he was your prince charming and maybe at the stroke of midnight he'll appear by your side to whisk you away. Now if something like that happened to me, I think I'd have a heart attack because I'm not really the fairytale type of girl, but, hey, that doesn't mean that it shouldn't happen to someone else."

"True," Christine said quietly. "Of course, I just hope he remembers where I am or at the very least, stops and asks for directions."
It felt slightly wrong that she was more eager to find her stranger, then her friend. But... there was just something about him...

Jac had taken to walking around randomly, he was trying his hardest to behave, and not jump around like an idiot. He had even taken much time into fixing his hair. Of course with his act of normality, he has asked a few girls to dance. But one fairy in a cream colored dress caught his eye, and it took every ounce of self control to not just bounce over. He walked over, and smiled at the fairy. "Well Hello" He said, not good at old earth speak. But he did manage a very overdone flowing bow. "May I please request a dance of the lovely lady before me?"
OOC: Tags Layla (don't hate me!)

Surprised at the request, but not put off because he seemed nice enough, Layla smiled at the gentleman before her. "I'd love to," she replied with a deep curtsy. Turning to Christine, Layla winked, "Now you don't have an excuse to not go find your Prince Charming. If you want to catch up with me later, I'll probably be by the stairs with Stella. If you look over there now, I'm sure you'll she her - I'm telling you, that orange is crazy bright." With that, Layla took the gentleman's arm and allowed herself to be led for once. OOC: No hate here

Jac lead her to the floor, adding a few skips to his step, not noticing. It was taking too much for him to behave so much. He was going to have to let himself do something weird later, and the chandelier above them had been calling his name all night.
He bowed to the Fairy again and took a waltz position. Farm boy he was, his mother had taught him all sorts of dances, and the waltz was a lot like one that was his mothers favorites.

Layla suppressed a smile at her partner's eagerness as she positioned herself in preparation for the waltz. Knowing that it was polite to converse a little before the dance began, Layla offered him a warm smile as she said graciously, instinctively slipping into the princess version of herself, "Thank you for giving me the pleasure of your company, m'lord."

"It is my pleasure my lady" Jac said smiling rather happily. "I must say, you are the most stunning lady here tonight." Jac was trying so hard to imitate all those around him. But he leaned in close for just a second. "But all this formalness, is kinda hard" He whispered in her ear

At her partner's whispered confession, Layla grinned as she whispered back, "Don't let anyone know, but I absolutely agree. It all seems so contrived and silly, don't you think?" Stepping back, Layla gave him a genuine smile as she said, "Now that I don't have to keep carrying on so formally as if I actually said things like "m'lord" regularly, I think we'll have much more fun."

Jac just grinned at this. "Thats rather a relief, though I did promise I would behave tonight" He seemed to let out an overdone sigh as Jac held out his hand again. "I do want to dance with you though"

"And I, for once, won't mind formal dancing," Layla said as she took his hand. With a short laugh, she elaborated, "It's just that usually when I dance with partners, I get stuck with someone stodgy and boring and let me tell you, those can be some of the worst minutes of a person's life." Feeling at ease with her companion, Layla chatted lightly, "But believe it or not, I actually love to dance. It has to be one of my favorite ways to spend my time. There's just something cathartic about it. It's something that I can't really explain, though; it's just something I feel." With a sheepish smile, Layla said, "Sorry; I'm rambling, aren't I?"

Jac shook his head. "ohh no! Your chatting is keeping me from doing something stupid" He smiled rather innocently. "I love playing my ocarina, and I tend to dance a bit myself when I do"

"An ocarina?" Layla asked curiously. "I'm assuming that's an instrument of some sort, but I've never heard of one. Too bad my friend, Mu-" Layla shook her head to remind herself that she wasn't supposed to say anything that might reveal her identity. "What I was saying was that it's too bad that one of my music-obsessed friends isn't here because she loves talking about, well, music. Not that I don't - it's just that I don't know very much about it."

"I would ask the fair lady to dance but as such dances are not my foray, as such perhaps I could retrieve a drink for the lady?" Kaelin asked after walking up behind the person he was pretty sure to be Christine.
OCC: Any of our ladies with chocolate brown hair can respond to this one.

Jac's smile seemed to widen so much. "Ohhh, would you let me play for you maybe then?" He asked, barely able to keep from jumping up and down. "I always carry it with me!"

OOC: might as well Christine turned and tilted her head. She was fairly sure that she recognized the voice as the one belonging to her friend Tash's twin, but she wasn't going to say anything. "I thank you, m'lord," she said quietly.
