OOC: Yay! Ball! Musa looked around curiously. A Victorian holiday! It was quite an interesting theme for a masked ball. The decoration, the costumes... Everything was catching Musa's attention. And the music...

Christine dipped her mask slightly to get a better look at the room. Every costume was different, so unique. The theme - a Victorian holiday - was just something utterly unique, and so Earther. She raised her mask again and made her way over to a young rake with golden blond hair and brilliant blue eyes. "Good eve, m'lord," she said, dipping into a deep curtsy. Sky turned as he heard the greeting behind him and bowed deeply, one arm against his stomach and the other behind his back. With a gracious smile, he replied as he straightened to his full height, "Good evening, m'lady."

There was something familiar about those blue eyes and that blond hair but she couldn't quite place it. She blushed at the deep bow. "So," she said, glancing about the room, "what do you think of the party so far?"

"I suppose it is all right - although," Sky grinned at this, "I must say that at this moment I thank the gods for being born a male. It must be dreadful to have people constantly stepping on the back of your gown as all the females in the room will most likely have experienced multiple times by the end of the evening."

"Agreed," Christine said, pulling her dress a little closer, mainly to keep from stepping on it herself or having her current companion step on it. She opened her mouth to say something along the lines of wishing she could have dressed as a male but closed it quickly, not wanting to reveal who she was right away. "From what I've heard, we're supposed to unmask ourselves at midnight. How... quaint," she said with a light laugh.

"Indeed," Sky said with a wry smile. "And, if I didn't know better, I'd think this was something straight out of a fairytale." Leaning closer to his companion, Sky asked in a conspiratorial tone of voice, "Don't tell me that you're going to run out of here at 11:59 to avoid being revealed as a chambermaid. Because that would be just too perfectly," Sky grinned, ". . . quaint."

Christine had to restrain the urge to punch him in the arm, but that wouldn't be too ladylike. "Perhaps, perhaps not," she answered in an amused tone. "And would you change into a stablehand?"

"Of course not," Sky replied in a mock indignant tone. Pretending to be offended, he raised his nose haughtily in the air as he said, "Clearly, I would turn into a mouse."

"Shall I get you some cheese?" she asked lightly. She actually felt like a young girl again and not the future princess she was supposed to be. "So, what's wrong with stable hands? I heard princesses and other noblewomen have romps with them in secret."

Suppressing a smile, Sky countered, "And I heard that princesses and other noblewomen aren't supposed to speak of such things in polite company."

"Who says this is polite company?" she asked, her blue eyes twinkling with amusement. "All manner of men and women are in here, some polite company and some less then polite." She glanced over in the direction of one corner. "Ah... do the chaperones know about that?" she asked. She only hoped he wouldn't cover her eyes too quickly.

With a smile, Sky replied, "Then perhaps I should rephrase myself; I am polite company and I am blind to such things as," Sky gestured at the corner in discussion, "that." Frowning at the display, Sky said with lifted brows, "But I must say, in all seriousness, that is very distasteful. And disturbing, to say the least."

"Please feel free to cover my eyes with your hand at any time," she said quietly, blushing. "I know most men would do so." She glanced away. She wondered if he would be so bold as to ask her to dance. It would be nice to get at least one dance in.

"A gentleman would certainly never touch a lady," Sky bowed slightly at this, "unless, of course, he was dancing with her." Holding out his hand, Sky straightened and asked with a soft smile, "Would the lady care to dance?"
