"Enjoying the dance so far, m'lord?" Flora asked, awarding the man with a warm sunny smile. Her grass green eyes sparkled as she stood before him. With an inward sigh, Palladium realized that this girl was intent on carrying on a conversation with him; it was obviously going to be more difficult for her to be put off than he had thought. Giving the girl a firm look, he answered, hoping that she would be bright enough to get his hint that he was not actually here to party "I am quite enjoying supervising the dance for you students."

Flora shook her head, instantly knowing who he was and what he was doing. "If you say so, Professor," she said, purposely tilting her mask so he could see who she was. "Then I shall leave you to your supervising." She turned on her heel and started to walk off, feeling more then a bit agitated.

Closing his eyes for a moment, Palladium felt a brief stab of pain at Flora's cool reply before he quickly reminded himself that that was what he had wanted. He had wanted to be left alone. That was why he had dropped his hint. And yet - Palladium winced at this thought - and yet, he still had the urge to follow her and to apologize.
Palladium started to take a few steps forward before he checked himself and resumed his position against the wall.

Flora watched him watch her - and felt vexed by his attitude. Well, she supposed, oh, hello there. She gave a startled gasp when a male specialist - who she recognized as W - gave her a sudden spin out onto the dancefloor.
W shot Palladium a look. Oh, he was going to get the professor good and jealous so he actually did something.

Feeling a twinge of jealously, Palladium shook his head, trying desperately to brush it aside. Flora was a student; it was only right that she should socialize with her peers. This was how it should be. No, this was how it should have been all along.
Discreetly glancing back over at the dancing couple, Palladium decided that Flora looked happy, like she was having a good time. She deserved that. That and so much more. Sadly, he acknowledged that despite what it may have seemed earlier when she had approached him, she had moved on. She had probably just come by to be polite - nothing else. He had read too much into her actions and now he probably looked like a gigantic fool. Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.

W danced them closer to the professor and none too gently shoved Flora into his arms, before going to go chat with Katy. Damn that she-cat was fine.
Flora's cheeks went crimson and she looked shyly away. "sorry about that, Professor," she said softly.

Momentarily at a loss for words, Palladium quickly recovered by gently disentangling himself from Flora. Softly, he replied, "It's no fault of yours; accidents happen, after all."
Glancing around for the watchful eyes of the other supervisors and seeing none at the current moment, Palladium coughed and then said, feeling like quite the imbecile, "I suppose it would be safe to assume that you are having an enjoyable evening, yes?"

"For the most part," Flora said quietly. "It feels so strange to be able to," she paused, searching for a word. She smiled when it came to her. "Relax." She shook her head. "Hopefully, this dance will be less eventful..."

Quinn found himself wandering toward where the Jac had played. The person he thought had been Jac hadn't but a few well placed questions and he'd found out that's where Tash had been standing last time she'd been seen. The scene was one he'd kind of expected, Psi was holding and unconsious Tash rather possessivly. Quickly stepping in front of the shorter man, "Give her to me Psi, quickly." he ordered, half hoping that Psi would choose not to be difficult. "I rather think not" Psi said, holding her to him gently. "And don't think you can take her from me either" He grinned rather sadisticly.

Quinn fought to control his temper, damn the little..... taking a deep breath Quinn looked Psi directly in the eyes. "We don't have time of this Psi, please just give her to me, before it's too late for her." Quinn said calmly, please don't make me beg he thought.

"But what he can do and what she needs him to do are two different things. But I hope your right and what he can do is enough." Kaelin said closing his eyes for a minute trying to get some strength back.

Christine lowered her gaze, trying her hardest to not look disappointed in the fact that Sky hadn't answered her request. She rubbed the bare part of her arms and sighed. Looks like the ghosts were still haunting Sky... Realizing that he had allowed his thoughts to wander again, Sky gave Christine an apologetic smile as he straightened his mask and then offered her his arm. Tilting his head in the direction of the ballroom, he asked lightly, "How about that dance, eh?"

"So why in all the realms, should I trust you at all" "Ok Psi I'll admit to not trusting you," Quinn paused fighting his temper again, now was not the time for it, "But I don't necessarily hate you, you've never given me reason to... at least not yet." He shrugged, "Besides this isn't about us right now, this is about her." Quinn gestured to Tash as he stepped closer. "I don't know what kind of game your playing with her and at the moment I don't particularly care. If we don't do something soon both of us are going to lose her forever." He gave Psi just a second to absorb what he said before continuing, coming even closer."She's dying Psi. And you can either help me bring her back or you get out of my way and let me do what I can, though it'll be easier with some help since Kaelin's a little... indisposed at the moment." Quinn waited for the other man's reply.

She grinned and allowed him to lead her on to the dance floor. "Perhaps this time, our dance will be a bit more lively," she said with a quiet laugh.
