Christine fell to the ground, at the base of Darkar's throne. She bowed her head and wept as she felt the chains snake onto her wrists and bind her to the floor. Her worst fear had come to pass and she was helpless to do anything.
"Who are you? What do you want from me?" she asked quietly.

Flora stood by Darkar's side, watching the seer try to figure out what just happened. A dark smile crossed her features as she thought about her battle with Palladium - he was good, but she was better. Barely. She'd need to train, to call on different spells that utilized her gifts. She settled down near Darkar and let him stroke her hair.
"I wonder... Would the mighty prince of Eraklyon join us, to save her?" she mused aloud.

Christine's breath caught her throat. Sky? Joining whoever this was? That would be a monumentally stupid move on his part... and something she could see him doing. She was his teammate - his responsibility and she could see him joining that thing on the throne if it meant he had a chance to free her.
She only hoped she thought wrong and that he wouldn't dream of risking himself like that.

Flora's golden eyes lit up as she saw a figure approach Darkar's throne. "So, mighty prince," she drawled. "What brings you to Shadowhaunt?" She watched the prince, who was watching the figure chained at Darkar's feet.

Looking back at Flora, Sky suddenly had the sinking feeling that he had made a mistake in coming here. He had been too quick to act . . . and now he was here. In Shadowhaunt. With no plan.
Knowing that to show his fear would be a mistake, Sky stepped forward, arching a brow in a way that hinted at confidence, and replied sarcastically, "Well, funny story - I heard that you had taken my friend captive. Now, I'm one of those people who needs to see to believe, so I just though I'd drop in to check things out - you don't mind, do you?"

"No, we don't mind at all," Flora said. "She's right here," she added, gesturing to the maiden bound to the floor in front of them. "She's relatively unharmed."

"Good," Sky countered. "Let's keep it that way." Striding forward, Sky stopped just mere inches from Flora's face and growled, as he stood towering over her, "Now, let's get down to real business - why did you take her?"

"She's a seer," Flora said simply. "And how better then using a seer to find where the Codex are located?" She blinked her golden eyes and gave a small smile. "Why so concerned about her? You did abandon her."

"I didn't abandon her," Sky snapped, feeling his temper start to boil out of control. "Perhaps you should brush up on your vocabulary - abandonment means that you never come back. Guess what? I'm back. And you? You are going to let her go."

Christine's eyes glanced up and she saw Sky. A faint smile graced her pale features when she saw Sky standing there. He had come for her - her champion. And for that... She was grateful.

"And if we don't?" Flora asked, her golden eyes flashing dangerously. "I nearly turned one of the Alfea professors into a tree and I turned your squire into a beast. I would not anger me if I were you."

Sky laughed as he replied tauntingly, "But they obviously lacked something that I have. I have something to fight for - I have someone to fight for who I love. What's the saying? That's right - love conquers all. Even you. Even evil - especially evil. Hurt her and mark my words, I will tear you to shreds."

Christine's eyes lit up with an odd sparkle when he said he was fighting for someone he loved. Surely it couldn't be her? Could it? Wasn't he in love with Bloom? Surely the only love he felt for her would be the kind a sibling would have or a friend. Surely he didn't really love her love her? Did he?

"Love? You love her? And here I thought you were Bloom's very devoted boyfriend," Flora said, surprise clear in her voice. "Learn something new everyday." She gave him a wry grin. "And how do you plan on making sure that she remains unharmed? Are you planning on serving Darkar to make sure she remains unharmed?"

Christine let a little squeak of shock out. Sky wouldn't do this, would he? He wouldn't join Darkar just to make sure she was okay. That was madness - sheer madness. She wasn't sure if she could forgive herself if Sky gave in. She bit her lower lip and waited to see what Sky would do.
