Lightly swatting Sky's abdomen with the back of her hand, Layla replied with mock severity, "Stop being so difficult; can't you see that I'm trying to wish you a happy birthday?" Thrusting a wrapped present at him, she continued, "Here. This is for you. Happy birthday, Sky."
Turning away, Layla paused as she looked back over her shoulder at him. "Just a suggestion, but maybe you should go find Bloom. I mean, I think she'll want to spend time with her boyfriend on his birthday, don't you agree?"

"Thanks," Christine said, glancing about the room, finally taking in the hours of hard work and nights of lack of sleep to get the room to shine and sparkle in honor of the prince's birthday. "I'm just amazed I was able to keep this a secret." She could feel exhaustion prick the back of her mind - demanding that she sleep. She mentally told herself that she'd sleep later. Much later. Like after the party later. Whenever that happened.
"I think I'm going to get a cup of coffee," she said, yawning. She wiped her left eye absently, smearing the concealer that had been hiding the circles under her eyes.

Glancing around the packed room, Sky asked, his voice lighting up, "Bloom's here? Where?" He had to admit, he was surprised by Layla's remark - considering that Christine had obviously planned the event, and also considering that Christine and Bloom were far from friends . . . well, he didn't think it was unreasonable to assume that Bloom wouldn't be present.
As he continued to scan the crowd, Sky watched for a tell-tale flash of red hair. And then, in front of him, a group of people shifted and he saw her. Looking right him. Raising his hand in greeting, Sky smiled broadly. For as difficult as their relationship had been at times, Bloom never failed to make his heart skip a beat with her glowing smile.

"I'll join you." Tash said as she followed Chris into the kitchen. Once in the kitchen away from prying eyes. "Exactly how much sleep did you miss to get this place looking like it is?"

Bloom had been watching Sky since he walked into the room, when he finally saw her; Bloom smiled back and waved with a gesture to come over. She was not ready to try walking with this many people around, she still did not have land legs.

Bloom had been watching Sky since he walked into the room, when he finally saw her; Bloom smiled back and waved with a gesture to come over. She was not ready to try walking with this many people around, she still did not have land legs. Pushing his way through the crowd, Sky came to stand next to Bloom. Greeting her with a light kiss on the lips, Sky took her hand as he moved to sit next to her. Tilting his head so that he could look into her eyes, he said softly, "I'm glad you came. Sorry, I didn't come say hello to the birthday boy when you first came in. I don't have my land legs back just yet. I really don't know how Ariel managed to walk immediately after changing." at Sky's confused look, "Ariel is a mermaid on Earth who gave up her tail for the man she loved." Bloom explained. Sky raised a brow as he asked in confusion, not understanding that Ariel wasn't truly real, "They have mermaids on Earth? Since when?" Shaking his head, Sky laughed as he continued, "Oh, the things you learn every day."

Now take off the rest of that concealer, lets get you fixed up. We can't have Sky seeing you look like a raccoon." Tash said as she headed over to the counter where she had stashed her bag. Digging through one of the pockets. "Here we are." Tash said as she pulled out two small jars, tossing one to Chris. "Put this under your eyes for a few minutes. And how long do you think this party is going to continue for?" Tash asked as she pulled out another mug. |

I think six hours will be long enough. Now before I give this to you. I need you to promise that you can get at least 6 hours of sleep after this. If for some reason you can't get to sleep at that time come and find me and I'll give you another dose. At that time you have to be near a bed or have another dose. The results otherwise are always interesting." |
