Christine was up off the ground and raced to Sky's side. She wordlessly embraced him, crying softly. "Oh, God, Sky, I was terrified. I thought he was going to kill you," she whimpered into his chest. That was true - the minute Byron had stabbed Sky with the silver dagger, Christine had been afraid. She continued to weep quietly.
She glanced up at him, tears in her eyes. "Are you okay?"

Flora was quiet, watching the scene unfold. "Well, go on, hero, kiss the girl," she called, breaking the silence. "After all, isn't that part of the hero motto? 'When the fighting's fierce, the odds are long, I only think of this. The battle done and we have won, to you I give a kiss'?" she asked, tilting her head in question.
Honestly, heros were so slow.

Amore watched the entire scene unfold. That had to have been the most romantic thing she had seen Sky done in ages. Fighting for his lady fair. Oh, how romantic. Now, all he needed to do was comfort her. She fluttered down and landed on Layla's shoulder. "Isn't that romantic, Layla?" she asked quietly. "Sky fought to protect his lady fair."

Watching Christine embrace Sky with a critical eye, Layla crossed her arms over her chest as she replied, "I don't know what Sky thinks he's doing, but my advice to him is for him to straighten up. I mean, seriously, enough is enough - is he dating Bloom or Christine?" Shaking her head, she added, "I thought he had finally figured it out, but obviously I spoke too soon."

"Well, she did nearly have her throat slit open so of course she's going to hug the guy who just saved her life. It is a bit romantic, you have to admit," Flora said quietly. "Well, let's get the mermaid back into her tub so she doesn't dry out."

''It's cute and romantic... But it must a bit hard for both, I guess.'' Then she said.''Put the mermaid into her tub... I wonder if Bloom is heavy?''

"Looks, looks," Bloom chanted under her breath. What was she going to do about her so called friends. Flora was telling another girl to kiss HER boyfriend and Chatta was asking is she was heavy. Did they think she couldn't hear them.

"Well, let's get the mermaid back into her tub so she doesn't dry out." Layla shrugged as she replied quietly so that Bloom wouldn't hear, "Sure I'm glad that he saved Christine and all, but I just can't find it romantic or whatever because I know that he's hurting Bloom right now. Hey, if he wants to be with Christine that's fine by me - what's not fine is that he isn't being fair to Bloom. I mean, come on - first he's all lovey-dovey with her and everything seems like it's going back to normal and then just a little while later he runs out into the hall because, as rumor has it, he accidentally blurted out that he loves Christine on the balcony? I mean, what the hell is that about?"

"Now, that, I didn't hear. Oh, dear, I do feel sorry for Bloom, but, well, you've read all the gossip papers," Flora said. "Granted, it's just gossip, but there had to have been something there in order for all the gossip to happen in the first place. Besides, unfortunately, Bloom knew this would happen. After all, she was the girl he was dating while he was engaged to be married to Diaspro."

"So maybe Bloom was naive - and maybe she should have known that something like this was inevitable . . . but that doesn't mean that I can't think poorly of Sky, does it?" Without waiting for a reply, Layla continued, her hands placed defiantly on her hips, "Perhaps we should convince Bloom to ditch Sky before he ditches her. I mean, at least that way she'd manage to save some of her pride." Shaking her head in bafflement, she muttered under her breath, "Honestly, I don't know what she - or any other girl, for that matter - sees in Sky. Bloom would be much better off without him."

"From what I've heard, Sky and the seer were close as children so," she shrugged one shoulder. "I don't know. But then, you've said I have odd taste in men so I really shouldn't talk."
