Getting a bit lost

[Howl Pendragon]

Howl pinched the bridge of his nose and gave Markl a Look. "Markl, get over here," he growled, feeling several shades of irritation bubble up. His apprentice was starting to annoy him (and he was half tempted to send said apprentice off to live with his girlfriend and not have to deal with the child).

Howl did a quick step back, and brought his head up sharply at the sight that stood before him. "Markl! Get away from that thing!" he snapped, doing a quick walk over to his student and pulling him away from the dragon. "We do not go play with the strange creatures," he snapped.

Being a wizard, he was quick to sense when something was amiss (something he was quick to master since he had become such a "slitherer-outer" of things as his beloved Sophie would say) and he quickly whipped around to see what look like soldiers, not much younger then him, approach.

He debated for a long moment whether not to go into "bird form" and get him and Markl out of there. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to figure out who these were. Certainly weren't from Porthaven, Kingsbury, Ingray, Martket Chipping... Wales...

Quinn approached the dragon area with Kaelin and Eris-an, after all what better time to get in some extra dragon riding practice then between dinner and the end of class for the day? Seeing a stranger and a young boy hanging around the pens Quinn frowned, as far as he knew there were no visitors expected at the school, well at least none that would have clearance to visit the dragons anyway, "Hello?" he half asked half greeted walking up to them. "Is there something we can do for you?"

"Besides tell me where here *is*?" Howl suggested. "My apprentice and I seem to have, ah, gotten lost," he said, wincing a bit at having to be so truthful to strangers. "Markl had to race out of the house and drag me with him and neither of us have been to here before, wherever here is."

" 'Here' would be Red Fountain Academy in the realm of Magix." Quinn smiled, "I'm Quinn by the way. This is Kaelin and Eris-an." he introduced his friends.

OCC: Technically I think Red Fountian is called a School but Academy sounds better then 'School for Heros' XD

"Magix? Where in Ingray is Magix?" Howl cried, thoroughly confused. "Calcifer," he muttered in Welsh under his breath. "Yn blino fireball*." Howl took a deep breath, counted to ten** in Welsh, thought better of it and counted to twenty***. Once he was calm again, he spoke, "Howl Pendragon," he said gesturing to himself. "And that's Markl," he nodded in the direction of his apprentice.

Markl gave a quick wave and went back to examining the dragon.

"Markl... What did I say about strange creatures?"

For those wondering about the Welsh - Howl's origin in the book is Wales.

Quinn nodded, "Pleasure. And since I take it you're not from here may I ask where you are from?"

"Wales originally," Howl answered. "Ingray as of late. Although, asking me a specific location in Ingray would be nigh impossible. I tend to move around alot."

Markl nodded in answer to the man's question about the dragons. "Howl doesn't like me getting near these sorts of things. Sort of a hang up really."

Howl whipped his head around and fixed Markl with a Look. "And I don't feel like telling Martha that you were eaten."

Eris-an smiled, "It is alright. They are relatively harmless, you just need to watch that they do not whack you with their tails." he said to Howl turning back to the boy. "Want a closer look?"

"Can I, Howl? Please?" Markl asked, looking at him.

Howl took a cleansing breath, and after a long moment, gave a consenting nod. "But if you get eaten, don't come crying to me," Howl said, shaking his head. Some things he just didn't want to deal with at that hour - especially without being drunk first so he could blame a lapse in judgment on being impaired.

Eris-an laughed at Markl's enthusiastic yell. "Come on then." he opened the pen and escorted the boy over to the nesting beasts.

Quinn shook his head, leave it to Eris-an to befriend a kid. "So where's this Ingray?" he asked Howl, trying to figure out what realm the man was from.

"Not anywhere near here," Howl said absently. "I can't recall where it's attached at the moment, and with the sheer number of portals attached to my front door," he continued, half paying attention to what they were discussing.

Markl explored the pens, looking at the various dragons. "This is so cool."

Quinn shared a look with Kaelin, "Portals?"

Howl blinked for a moment. "I'm a wizard," he said simply. "And I have quite a few places I deal in so attaching portals to my front door that will instantly take me to a predetermined location makes things easy for me," he continued. "I have about eight currently working - all color typed so I know which portal goes where. Last thing I want to do is land in the wrong location."
