"Would you walk with me til we reach the path that leads to my home?" she asked, her voice quivering. "I feel safe with you near me." Tears streaked down her face and she collapsed to her knees and wept. "Oh, Lyon, where are you? Why'd you leave me?"

Knowing that he couldn't very well let her walk home by herself, Sky nudged Christine with his nose to signal her to stand up.
Although he was still upset that Christine would put herself in a situation that could have been dangerous had he really been a wolf, Sky knew that for now, until he could figure out how to get back to normal, he would have to put that detail behind him so that he could keep her safe from the real danger.

Christine hugged the wolf around his neck and stood up slowly. "Thank you," she whispered quietly. She walked quietly next to the wolf, trying hard not to cry. "I just hope Lyon's okay. I'm worried about him. Do you think he's okay?"

Wanting to shout, 'Look, Christine! It's me! It's Sky! I haven't gone anywhere!' but knowing that he couldn't, Sky felt as though he could throw a fit right then and there. But he couldn't. Not really. Mostly because Christine would probably find it very strange to see a wolf running around in circles and throwing itself at trees. She'd probably be scared off and she'd run away and get into all sorts of danger and then he'd have to devise yet another plan to rescue her. And to put it simplest terms, he was just too tired to even think of embarking on another adventure like the one he had been through with the wolves.
So, Sky settled on simply walking beside Christine, hoping beyond hope that his condition was only temporary - or better yet, that he was just dreaming.

Christine placed a small hand on his back, before growing tired. After a long time, she yawned quietly. "Can't we stop?" she asked quietly. "I'm awfully tired." She yawned again and fought to stay awake.

Sky knew several things. One, he knew that even if she was tired, they couldn't stop. Two, Sky knew that he had to get her back home to her mother because by now Lady Melisande would already be worried out of her mind and if Christine stayed out the entire night . . . well, he didn't want to think about what would happen.
Nudging Christine again with his nose, Sky knew that he was going to have to pressure her to keep going. He sighed internally; he was tired too and he wasn't looking forward to having to force Christine to keep going, but it had to be done.

Christine continued to walk, even though she was nearly ready to fall asleep on her feet. She yawned again, trying to stay awake. Her eyes fluttered shut for a moment, and she was nearly ready to collapse to the ground and just sleep. She was bone tired.

Come on, Sky thought to himself. Come on, Christine. You can do it. Besides, the cottage can't be that much farther away can it?
Sky too desired nothing more than to curl up and sleep, but they had to keep going. Sadly, he knew that when they finally did return to the cottage, Christine would be able to curl up in a bed while he . . . he'd have to make do outside.
Just then, a cold wind picked up, ruffling his fur and causing Sky to groan inwardly. Just his luck that tonight would be so cold. Just his luck.

Christine just couldn't take another step. She bonelessly dropped to the ground, sound asleep. She was just too tired and just wanted to sleep. Hopefully, the wolf would let her sleep.

Too tired to keep urging her along, Sky allowed Christine to curl up on the ground and sleep. He too desired nothing more than to close his eyes, but he couldn't. Not out here in the open where any kind of danger could befall them. No, he would stand guard and make sure no harm befell his friend.
Again feeling the cold wind, Sky looked at Christine who was dressed in thin clothing. There was not a chance that she would be able to stay warm; if she didn't stay warm, she'd get sick . . .
Laying down beside Christine so that she could use his fur as warmth, Sky sighed. It was going to be a long night.

Christine curled up close to her wolf friend and snuggled. She felt so safe near him. That and she felt so very warm. She wrapped one small hand in his fur and held it close. The wolf seemed so tame, so friendly, and was just about her age - if one did the math and translated dog years into human years.

So sleepy . . . no. Stay awake, stay awake. Sky shifted his gaze upward to sky above to distract himself from thoughts of sleep. It certainly was a beautiful sight. It was so clear and pristine - no smog or signs of cities. He had never before seen such a clear sky.
Returning his gaze to Christine, Sky felt a wave of sadness hit. The night before he had overheard his parents talking; his mother still wanted to return home. She wasn't having fun because, in her words, there was no one around here to socialize with as this place is a forgotten realm. His father as of yet hadn't given in to his mother's demands, but it was only a matter of time, most likely. He'd have to leave and then what? No more Christine? No more fun? No more summer days? The thought seemed unbearable.
Sky looked back up at the stars; unbearable, indeed.

Christine whimpered quietly in her sleep, nightmares and half remembered dreams haunted her sleep. She had heard the arugments between Lyon's parents and wished she hadn't. She didn't want Lyon to leave her - she wanted him to stay, she was so afraid that she'd never see him again.
OOC: ::just realizes that I had Chris call Sky by his real name and not by Lyon:: ::facepalm::

OOC: The magic of the RPG is that we can just pretend that she didn't XD
Sky glanced down at Christine, immediately sensing that she was worried. Mildly, he wondered if this ability to sense had always been in him or if it was a new attribute that came along with being a wolf. Well, whatever it was a result of, Sky liked it. He liked feeling like he was in the loop, like he had a clue and wasn't just some stupid blond, stuck up prince.
Trying to think of the best way to comfort his fairy princess, Sky came to the conclusion that the best thing he could do for her would simply to remain still and allow her to sleep.

She stirred a moment, turned over for a moment, releasing her grip on the wolf before snuggling closer to him. "Don't leave me, Lyon," she whispered in her sleep. "Please don't leave me. I couldn't bear it if you left and I never saw you again..." She fell back into a deeper sleep.
