Tecna eyed the circulation desk to make sure she was not needed there, and then took a seat at the commons area. "How many people know about this situation? I mean, Sky is a Prince, word is bound to get out...but I am thinking it would be best if we contain it at least to the point that his parents don't find out...or Diaspro, for that matter..."

"Not that many. Obviously, Sky's group. And my family. But only because my stepfather knows what it's like to have been merged with a dragon. Long, long story there. And one that's a bit ugly. I'll explain sometime. And my grandfathers. Only because they're wizards and one of them used the same spell."
Christine sighed. "I was thinking of contacting his parents, just to help keep those outside of Sky's group and my family in the dark for as long as possible." She bit her lower lip. "Of course, the fun's going to be teaching Sky how to be a dragon so he can fool everyone. Such a fun prospect."

Another long, grueling pause. "...does Bloom know?" She then realized that Chris may not know who she was talking about. "Sky's girlfriend."

OOC: going on the assumption that this happens after meeting Bloom
"If she's the lassie with crimson hair, then yes. Brandon guilted me into telling her," Christine said, her cheeks turning a bit pink. "The man's quick with a guilt trip."

Tecna solumnly nodded. "As if Bloom didn't have enough troubles with Prince Sky..." She muttered, punching in a few keys. "Okay...let's first see what history we can find of previous occurences of dragon-merging..."

"I take it he's not the most faithful of men?" Christine ventured. Of course that was a silly question - one did not expect a good looking man like Sky.... 'Stop it, right there,' Christine mentally lectured herself. 'He is not good looking. You are not attracted to him at *all*.'
Quickly she switched gears and wracked her memory. "There's only one case that I can think of and that's because the man that it happened to is my stepfather. You might want to look up Quest for Ommadon's Red Crown. That gives the whole lovely story."

Tecna's eyes widened in offense. "I never said anything of the sort. Where on earth did you get that idea?"
Tecna had never thought of it that way...

"Well, you had said she had enough problems with him so I made what I thought was a logical jump. Besides, everyone in Red Fountain's heard about that fiasco with that blond haired princess... The one with the quartz powers.. Oh, you know who I'm referring to.."

"Oh. Diaspro." Tecna sighed, and her eyes shifted to the side. "Naturally people are going to talk. But Bloom is a friend, and I have faith in her judgement." Tecna sounded as though she was half-convincing herself of that fact. "There must be more to it than what we see, and I strongly doubt she is the type of girl who would let herself get caught up in a bad relationship like that."

"I'm going to trust your judgement. I don't know Bloom at all so..." Christine's voice trailed off. "Anyway," she said, trying to change the subject. "Now, as for our dragon problem... Do you think it'd be wise to teach Sky how to be a dragon...?"

"I don't think so. We want to treat the matter as though he will not be a dragon for long. That way, once we turn him back, he won't have any bad habits to break." Tecna rested her chin on her fist thoughtfully. "It's not as if dragons themselves are commonly gallavanting around Magix anyway, so having one around is an usual situation, regardless of its origins."

"I was only thinking to teach him, in case Breog came back. That way Sky isn't entirely useless," Christine said. "Besides, I doubt what he'd be taught would remain as a bad habit. Basically it'd be how to breath fire and how to fly. Both of which are interconnected. I can give you the theories if you want.."

Tecna automatically became interested. Theories? Did she say *theories*?! Tecna's heart sped up at the thought of developing a specialty in something not offered at Alfea. She scooted closer to the girl, her wide eyes eager to soak up the knowledge. She had just found a new special buddy.
"If you would be...so kind." Tecna tried to contain the excitement in her voice. She didn't want to come off as overly ambitious.

Christine nodded. "Well, according to stepfather's personal research, dragons don't store fire in their stomachs, but hydrogen. Hydrogen's a gas that's highly flammable and extremely light. So when the gas escapes the dragon's mouth, it hits the Thor's thimble that's on the roof of their mouths. The Thor's thimble has something like an electrical current so it makes the gas ignite, hence the dragon's signature fire. To keep a steady supply of the gas, they have to eat a rich mineral, something like limestone."
She paused a moment, and brushed a few stray locks of hair off her face. "As for flight. Well, since the dragons have the hydrogen in them, they can use that to provide their lift. The wings are pretty useless, they just use them to steer themselves. And in order to come down, they have to exhale. Which triggers the fire to come out and gives rise the popular image of the fire-breathing dragon."

"Fascinating." Tecna's voice went soft and thoughtful. "Though I still don't see how this will help the matter with Sky. Now you said there was an incident that we can research that will enlighten us to past circumstances with human-dragon immersion?" Tecna continued out of sheer kitten-like curiousity. She leaned forward on the desk and looked straight at Chris, "Have dragons ever done the reverse and merged with humans?"
Ooh, she would LOVE to see that...
