(OOC: sim shot of Christine in concert outfit to come later) OOC: post Christine's second trip to the hospital "Only you can be the one even though I know you're gone, only you can fix my heart that's broken, I won't pretend.... Only you can understand everything I really am, the only one to find my smile was you.... And I see your face there when I close my eyes, And time can't erase the way I feel inside, I still remember all we shared, how much I wish you knew that I miss you, I miss you.... Only you can say the words so my heart won't have the hurt, Only you can stop the tears from falling, I'm calling.... Only you can make it right, I wish that you were by my side, The only one to make me laugh was you.... And I see your face there when I close my eyes, And time can't erase the way I feel inside, I still remember all we shared, how much I wish you knew that I miss you, I miss you.... I still remember all we shared, how much I wish you knew that I miss you, I miss you.... It's true, I miss you.... " Christine sang, glancing out at the audience. Her eyes had locked with a certain male and she quickly looked away, not wanting to look at Sky anymore. She couldn't look at him without feeling her heart breaking. If only he knew, if only he understood. Rolling his glass between his hands, Sky kept his gaze focused on his drink and not on the performance. He could still hear the words, though and he knew. He may be an idiot at times, but he wasn't entirely stupid; the significance of the song wasn't lost on him.
With a deep sigh, Sky felt the urge to get up out of his seat and walk away. It wasn't that he wanted to hurt Christine; it was just that avoiding her made things so much easier. It was a cowardly thing to do, but when it came to her, he was a coward. No amount of heroics training could change that.
But he couldn't leave. Not tonight. Glancing over at Riven, Sky knew that if he even so much as made a move that could be interpreted as getting up, the guy would be on him in a second. Sky wasn't exactly sure why Riven was so protective of Christine, but he was and admittedly, the guy was more than a little threatening. Meaning that he wasn't moving anytime soon. Not until the performance was done and drinks were had. Not until he made it look like everything was good between him and Christine.

"Every little thing I've ever wanted, is everything you are now, and all I wanna be is here with you....
I wanna be the one to make you happy, so let me show you how, I'll forever be faithful and true....
You made me fall so hard, you're deep inside my heart, I don't want anything more....
I just want the real you, 'cause I love who you are, and everything you do, I just want the real you, so c'mon let me show you how I feel, too....oh....
Every little thing I've ever needed, is everything you give me, and all I wanna be is by your side, you're more than I could ever really wish for, I knew the boy of my dreams, the first time I looked into your eyes....
You made me fall so hard, you're deep inside my heart, I don't want anything more....
I just want the real you, 'cause I love who you are, and everything you do, I just want the real you, So c'mon let me show you how I feel, too....oh.... You know I do....
I just want the real you, 'cause I love who you are, and everything you do, I just want the real you, so c'mon let me show you how I feel, too....oh....
I just want the real you, 'cause I love who you are, and everything you do, I just want the real you, So c'mon let me show you how I feel, too....oh...." she sang, allowing her current mood to dictate her song selection. She was subconciously trying to reach Sky and somehow, somehow it didn't feel like it was working.

Riven looked over at Sky, disgust clear on his face; of course, the pained little prince wouldn't even try to look interested. Knowing that Christine would notice Sky's lack of enthusiasm, Riven said in a low, warning voice, "You had better shape up, Sky; put a damn smile on your face and make it look like you're actually enjoying yourself - or have you already forgotten the pounding I gave you a couple weeks ago?"

"Can't get my love together, no matter how I try. Can't get my love together, don't know the reason why. Can't get my love together, can't make the pieces fit. Can't get my love together, can't make sense of it.
Why do I keep going in two directions at once? Seems like I keep fighting a war on two different fronts
Can't get my love together, how I wish I could. Can't get my love together, but once my love's together. I know we'll be together for good... Can't get my love together... But once my love's together, I know we'll be together for good!" she sang before sliding into another song.
"Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... But we've gotta keep on trying... Gotta keep hangin' on...
Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... But we can't give up fighting though hope seems gone...
As long as there's a chance we've got to do our best... And babe, if we have faith, I know we'll pass the test...
Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... But I'll never stop lovin' you with all my heart...
Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love's not easy... Love..."

Sky clenched his jaw as Riven whispered his warning in that ominous, I will kick your ass, tone of voice. He wanted nothing more to give the guy a piece of his mind, to pay him back for the pounding he had received - but now wasn't the time to cause a scene. God knows that he didn't need more gossip swirling around him in the tabloids about how he beat up an unsuspecting customer at the Full Moon Club.
Grudgingly, Sky admitted to himself that perhaps Riven was maybe, just maybe . . . right. Whatever had or hadn't happened between him and Christine in the past, they were still friends. Kind of. Things had been weird between them lately, but he knew she still cared about him and he knew that he cared about her. The least he could do was to show that he still remembered that fact.
Catching Christine's eye, Sky forced himself to smile and slightly raise his glass in greeting.

Seeing Sky's attempt to make it look like he was having a good time, Riven leaned forward and said with a smirk, "Smart choice, your highness. Smart choice."

"I could tell you how much I love you... I could tell you how much I care... I could tell you how the thought of you sets my dreams aglow... But you already know...
You already know how much I love you... You already know... You already know how much I love you... You already know...
I've never said that if you left me, my heart would be broken... But I'm certain that you know without a word being spoken... That you already know...
You already know how much I love you... You already know... You already know how much I love you... You already know... You already know how much I love you... You already know..." she sang, glancing at her boys and offered them a faint barely there smile.
She decided that this was her best chance to explain to Sky why she loved the stage, loved performing...
"When I take the floor as I've often done before, I feel a change come over me... I get such a thrill, it feels like time is standing still and starlight is the only thing I see...
When it's only me and the music, I leave the world behind... Only me and the music... When it's only me and the music, I am free! I am poetry in motion! When it's only me and the music...
My heart starts to race, I go soaring into space and music is the only thing I hear...
When it's only me and the music, I leave the world behind... Only me and the music... When it's only me and the music, I am free! I am poetry in motion! When it's only me, only me, and the music..."

Sky sighed as he craned his head to look at the clock hanging on the wall. Christine's performance would be ending soon and then it would be time for drinks with the gang. Sky had to admit, he was dreading it - mainly because if he knew Riven, the guy was planning on dragging Brandon away so that he was left alone with Christine. He hadn't been alone with her for an extended period of time . . . in ages. And he had a feeling that he wouldn't have a thing to say. That is, anything intelligent to say.
Reclining in his chair, Sky knew that he could talk about how he had broken up with Bloom once and for all. But that would lead into questions about what that meant for their relationship and at this point, Sky still had no idea what he and Christine were or what they could ever be. Still . . . they would have to talk someday. And it was better to do it sooner than to keep dragging it out, right? That's what everyone said but . . .
He wasn't sure. When it came to Christine he was never sure. As much as he cared about her, something always stood in their way and it made him wonder if that was some kind of sign - a sign that as much as they may love each other, maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

OOC: thank you Jem XD with the exception of the first two songs (which came from Bratz Genie Magic music CD, all songs used are from Jem and the Holograms)
"Hey babe! I've got my eye on you and I'm watchin your every move. Hey babe! I've got my eye on you, tell me what are you tryin' to prove?
You think you're hot, and your star is due, ooh ooh... You think you've got somethin' different and new... Well babe, I got my eye on you, and babe, oh babe, I think so too...
Hey babe! I got my eye on you and I think you look mighty fine. Hey babe! I got my eye on you, I would really love to make you mine.
You think you're hot, and your star is due, ooh ooh... You think you've got somethin' different and new... Well babe, I got my eye on you and babe, oh babe, I think so too...
Hey babe! I've got my eye on you and I think you look mighty fine... Hey babe! I've got my eye on you, I would really love to make you mine
Cause ever since you came in view, I just can't take my eyes off you
Hey babe, I've got my eye on you... Hey babe, I've got my eye on you... Hey babe, I've got my eye on you ," she sang, giving Sky a wink. Her attention had been pretty much centered on the blond Specialist - not that the crowd minded. Her patrons knew where her heart lay.
"Oooh.... Oh no!
I feel a loss, and it's got me kinda shook, I keep on searching but it's nowhere I look
Somethin' is missin'! Something is missing in my life... Something is missing... Won't somebody tell me where it's gone... Something is missing... Something is missing in my life... Somebody tell me where I've gone wrong with my life
I move around, keep goin' day and night, I look for answers but they're nowhere in sight, somethin' is missin'
On a bus or walking down the street, I feel lonely lost and incomplete
Whoa, whoa! Somethin' is missin' in my life... Somethin' is missin'... Won't somebody tell me where it's gone... Something is missing... Somethin' is missing in my life... Somebody tell me where I've gone wrong with my life
Somethin' is missin' in my life... In my life... Somethin' is missin' in my life... Somethin' is missin'... Somethin' is missin' in my life... Somethin' is missin'." One last pointed musical jab at Sky. And this was the last song of the evening before she joined the guys for drinks.
"There were flowers in my hair and the stars were in the sky. There were flowers in my hair and a smile inside his eyes. And we danced all through the night and we held each other tight
There were flowers in my hair!
There were flowers in my hair, I remember it so well, there were flowers in my hair... And the music cast a spell. And we danced all through the night and we held each other tight...
There were flowers in my hair... There were flowers in my hair... There were flowers in my hair
And he told me that he loved me and the flowers in my hair."

As Sky listened to the words of the song, he exhaled deeply; if indeed the words of the song were any indication of how Christine felt, they needed to have a talk. A serious one. About how things weren't simple. About the pressure that was on him from his parents "to do the right thing." About how she could be so sure that he was the one for her. About whether there was even such a thing as the one. About how he felt like everyone was ganging up on him because of the fact that he was confused. About how he felt like he had no control over his life. About how everything he did was wrong to someone.
Watching Christine sing, Sky knew that this was her last song for the night. And then . . . and then drinks. And time to talk. Briefly closing his eyes, Sky wondered if he could do this. He had managed to get through breaking up with Bloom . . . but he had a feeling that this was going to be ten times more difficult.

Christine climbed down off the stage, smiling a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes to the patrons. She walked slowly down the path and settled at her usual table - the one with her boys.
"Hey guys," she said quietly, barely a hint of life within. She was just so tired, just so drained.

Doing his best to put a genuine smile on, Sky replied, "Great performance, Chris - one of your best, if I say so myself."
Noticing that she looked exhausted, Sky wondered if tonight was the best night to bring up everything that was on his mind . . . Quickly cutting off those thoughts, Sky mentally shook his head. He was done putting things off. He had been straightforward with Bloom and he was going to show Christine the same courtesy. She at least deserved that much, if not more. Much more.

Christine gave a soft smile, an almost true smile, but not quite there yet. "Thanks," she said quietly. "So, who's paying for drinks tonight?"

Glancing at Sky and then at Christine, Riven then said, "Yeah, I agree with Sky; great performance, Chris; you really outdid yourself. But, if you'll excuse Brandon and me, I think we're going to go have our drinks refreshed and order some food at the bar. While we're there, we'll order something to send back to you guys - and don't worry, we'll get the tab."
Without another word, Riven strode off in the direction of the bar, knowing that Brandon was smart enough to get the hint to follow him.
