Sky patted his pockets playfully as he replied with mock seriousness, "I am afraid I must have misplaced my copy of Eraklyon laws." Taking a sip of the drink the waiter had brought him, Sky then continued with a shake of his head, "But in all seriousness, you can try but I don't think you'll find one. Unfortunately, the guys who wrote these laws were dead serious about the throne and even if the laws have ever been modified in the past, they were probably only made even more severe. Such is the Eraklyon way." With a wry smile, Sky elaborated, "Simplicity equals bad and complicated equals good."

"Hey, you never know," she said with an idle shrug. "Besides, you never know what I find." She tilted her head. "Maybe I could vacation on Eraklyon this summer and hit your libraries. Tell them I'm doing a research project for Ethics and Law."

Sky smiled as he replied, "You'd have to run it by my parents - particularly my father. He is very protective of the libraries at the palace - which are the libraries you'd want to use to do research because they're the best in the whole realm. But I think with a little prodding on my part, he'd be perfectly happy to let you use them - although, if he knew what for, he'd probably have a fit." Lifting his brows in mild amusement, Sky said, "He's pretty conservative too. In his eyes, Eraklyon is perfect as is - no need to change anything."

"I promise to wear gloves and try not to breath on the books," she said with a light laugh. "And so I won't tell him." She tilted her head. "So, shall we order some dinner or should we just live on wine and water?"

Sky averted his eyes as he said with a nervous laugh, "There's just one other thing that I should probably tell you about before we order. My mother, keep in mind that she means well, wants to set me up with someone who she finds 'suitable.' This isn't anything too unusual for her; in fact, she's tried to do so many times before. Case in point: Diaspro. The only thing that is different this time is that . . . well, she seems unusually persistent. I can't really explain it but, I just have this nagging feeling that she's not playing around this time. I seriously think she intends to marry me off. And soon. Well, maybe not that soon - but probably after I graduate from Red Fountain." Rubbing his temples, Sky said with a quiet groan, "And now that I think about it . . . that doesn't seem that far away."

Christine's eyes took on a mischievous look. "Ah, but has your mother forgotten what our fathers did to hide the fact that you were merged with a dragon? I believe that they claimed that we eloped." She laughed quietly. "So maybe you should remind her about that and see how she reacts to knowing that you are "married" already."

Sky smiled faintly, as he replied with a light laugh, "I highly doubt that she will find that notion as amusing as you and I do. In fact, knowing my mother, I think she would very well slap me across the face for such impudent behavior."

"I'm surprised she didn't kill your father for doing that. Pretending to marry you to someone who she'd consider a peasent due to my bloodline," she added, rolling her eyes. She paused and looked at Sky. "Ever get a feeling that we're being set up by our friends?"

Turning to look at the bar where Riven and Brandon were still occupied, Sky absently rubbed his jaw, which had only just recently stopped aching, as he said with an inward knowing smile, "No, they wouldn't do something like that. They know that we need to sort things out for ourselves."

Christine gave a slight nod. "I suppose. So, exactly what are they expecting us to be doing when they get back?"

"Not killing each other?" Sky offered with an amused smile.

"I can live with that. I just hope they aren't expecting us to kiss or anything," she said, fairly blushing. She wasn't exactly used to doing stuff like that. Her cheeks were a fiery crimson at the thought.

Sky lifted a brow as he glanced back at Christine and teased lightly, "Kiss? Why, I never kiss; I think that that is something one should save for marriage."

Christine's cheeks were still crimson. And she lightly punched him in the arm playfully. "Well we are married," she said making air quotes when she said married. "So..."

With a smile, Sky replied with a twinkle in his eyes, "I would, but unfortunately, it appears that Riven seems to finally be making his way back over here with that food he promised us."
