The walk from the park had been made in silence, yet not the uncomfortable silence shared by many. When she was with Sky, it seemed like their lapses in conversation were filled with something else. She couldn’t describe what, but it was almost as wonderful as their conversations. They had the ability to simply be. To just lose themselves in each other and enjoy the quiet moments instead of trying to fill them with small talk.
Once they reached the bike, Bloom zipped Sky’s coat up and seated herself on the back. Fitting the helmet on her head, he didn’t have to tell her twice before she tightly wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed herself against his back.
“Always.”

His smile concealed from Bloom's sight by his helmet, Sky waited a moment more to make sure that she was indeed secured before he pulled out of his parking space and zipped down the street. Well, above the street to be entirely accurate. He supposed that was the advantage of having a levabike - you never really had to wait around in traffic. There were no red lights. No need to stop until your destination was reached. You could just fly right over everything. Although, at that moment, Sky kind of wished that they could be stuck in traffic. At least that way he would be able to draw out his and Bloom's evening a bit more. Would actually be able to talk to her instead of having to listen to the roar of the bike's engine that completely obliterated his ability to hear any other noise.
Still, he couldn't complain too much. At least with his levabike he could enjoy the feeling of Bloom's arms wrapped around him - that was a pretty difficult feeling to beat.

Ten minutes later, Sky steered the bike into Alfea's courtyard and, as promised, he circled the building until he drew up next to Bloom's room. Sliding as close as possible to the balcony railing to prevent her falling (although, considering that she was a fairy and therefore could fly, he really had no reason to worry - not that that stopped him, of course), Sky waited to make sure she had made it safely over to the other side before he said, sliding the visor on his helmet up so that she could see his face, "Thank you for the best night of my life in a long time, Bloom." A teasing smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, he added, "Sweet dreams. And don't stay up too late with the girls."

They arrived back at Alfea all too soon for Bloom’s liking. The trip could have lasted all night and she wouldn’t have been the least bit upset. Quite on the contrary. When they stopped outside her room, she reluctantly released her arms from around Sky and removed the helmet. Carefully climbing back onto her balcony, she turned to him with a smile.
“Who says I’m going to tell them anything?” she played coy, but he knew her too well. Of course she was going to swoon about every detail to her friends. “I think I should be the one thanking you. Everything was just wonderful. Ditto the ‘best night of my life’ thing,” she gushed.
It had been a truly special evening, one filled with romance and magic (though not the personally created kind); it was what fairytales and love stories were built on. If life with Sky was going to be like this, then she wasn’t going anywhere. Unzipping his jacket, she handed it back, leaning over the balcony a little to get closer.
“Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow,” she quoted, lowering her lashes slightly despite the sudden goofy smile on her face.

Sky grinned as Bloom recited a few lines that he easily recognized as having been penned by a certain Earth fellow by the name of William Shakespeare. He knew the play "Romeo and Juliet" was one of Bloom's favorites and at that moment, he was glad that he had spent the extra time to read through it a couple times because now he had a chance to impress her. As she finished, Sky then replied, his delivery of the lines less smooth than Bloom's had been, but still adorable nonetheless, "Sleep dwell upon thine eyes, peace in thy breast. Would I were sleep and peace, so sweet to rest." Pausing for a moment, he flashed Bloom a lopsided smile as he said, "Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," Act II, Scene II, lines 189-190."
Feeling kind of goofy, Sky averted his gaze from hers for a moment as he fidgeted with the handles of his levabike. Then, reaching for the jacket Bloom had just returned to him, Sky held it out to her. Coughing and blushing a bit, he then said, "Why don't you, uhh, keep it?"

Hearing those classic lines roll of Sky’s lips, Bloom’s eyes widened in surprise and delight. It was one of her favourite plays, something that he probably would never have heard of if not for her, but not only had he read it but he’d memorized it?
He was truly amazing and she had to be the luckiest girl in the world to be able to call him her boyfriend. How many other guys were that observant and caring and sweet?
“Full of surprises,” she repeated her observation from earlier. Still holding onto the coat, before she could let go, Sky was handing it back to her. It was like in the movies set in the fifties where the boy always gave his girlfriend his Letterman jacket and his school ring to show that she was ‘his girl’, only not so possessive. Coming from Sky it didn’t feel like a claim, just a really sweet gesture.
“Really? Thank you,” she squeaked, her cheeks reddening in a blush to match his. Taking the coat back, she slipped her arms through the sleeves and wrapped it tightly around herself. It even smelled like him. “I would say I’ll never take it off, but that would be kind of weird,” she continued nervously.
What a lame way to accept a gift!

His nerves soothed as Bloom's look of surprise and then pleasure convinced him that she didn't think of him as being overly hokey, Sky replied affectionately, "Yeah, I suppose that would be a little weird and besides, even if you did try to wear it all the time, I imagine that eventually Stella would force you out of it." Chuckling, he added, "It's a nice jacket and all, but I don't imagine that it would be considered the height of women's fashion."
His smile lingering on his face for a few moments, Sky then inclined his head past Bloom's shoulder toward her room as he said worriedly, "You had better go on inside. Even if you do have my jacket, it's getting kind of chilly and I don't want you to catch a cold." Shifting his bike out of neutral, Sky then lowered the visor on his helmet as he said, "I'll call you tomorrow morning, all right?"

He was completely right, of course, even if it was a joke. Stella would put up with the first few times Bloom wore the coat just because it was sweet and romantic, but after that she’d refuse to let fashion be sacrificed any longer.
At Sky’s insistence that she go inside, Bloom considered arguing that now he was going to be cold without the coat, but knew it would be of no use. Even though he was different than any other guy she’d ever known, in the best ways possible, he was still a guy. He’d insist that it didn’t bother him and that it was a short ride anyways, and it would still end with her keeping the coat so there really wasn’t much point in bringing it up.
Nodding, Bloom took a step back from the rail, her first regret of the evening surfacing. Although their own little balcony scene had been sweet, his helmet prevented a good night kiss.
“All right,” she agreed, smiling. Something to look forward to. “Be careful on the ride home, ok?”

"I will," Sky replied, his voice muffled by his helmet and his smile obscured from her sight. Still, Sky figured that by now Bloom would know that he was in fact smiling. In retrospect, it seemed like that was the main thing he had been doing all night - a thought which caused his smile to widen into a grin.
Yep, it had been a fantastic night. Easily one of the best he had had in a long time - and because of that, Sky knew that this was one evening that he was never going to forget. Someday, when he and Bloom were old and gray, a thought which surprisingly didn't freak him out as much as he thought it would, he would remind her of this night and it would be like the magic had been released all over again.
With a last wave, which Sky turned into a comical salute, he then reluctantly pulled away from Bloom's window and sped down Alfea's courtyard. With a sigh, Sky hunched forward over his bike. He supposed it was true after all: all good things did have to come to an end.
