Somehow, she didn’t doubt it one bit. Her and Sky were totally on the same wavelength, and she had no doubts that he wanted exactly what she did. That he believed they were meant to be as well.
“Well, with confidence like that, how can we lose?” she said, holding the coat a little tighter around herself. Not the best idea, apparently, as Sky suddenly put on his worried face. No way was she going to let him cut this night short due to a little breeze.
“I’m fine,” she assured him, reaching up to brush his hair back off his forehead. “And even if the skies suddenly opened, I’m not going anywhere.”

"Well," Sky hedged before he continued with a reluctant smile, "even if the skies did open up, we could probably take it as a good thing. After all, isn't rain supposed to be romantic? Although," at this, Sky cast his gaze around the park before adding wryly, "usually when couples are in the rain in those movies, they usually make a run for it toward some little gazebo or something, but unfortunately for us, there's nothing like that in sight. The only thing we've got are a couple of benches; they're nice and all, but they would hardly provide us any shelter-"
Abruptly cutting off his nonsensical speech, Sky smiled sheepishly down at Bloom as he raked a hand through his hair. "It probably doesn't matter though since I doubt that it will rain. But you know, it's always good to think these things through ahead of time."
God, he was lame.

With each word Bloom could feel her heart flutter as she watched him with an amused expression. He was way adorable when he rambled, and it was totally cute that, not only did he actually watch ‘chick flicks’ with her, but he almost seemed to study them for ideas. Life isn’t like it is in the movies, but with Sky it was pretty darn close.
“Of course. I would hate to be unprepared,” she laughed lightly. Grabbing his arm again, this time she started to lead them again down the path.
“Rain is always romantic in the movies, but in reality? Wouldn’t it just be, like, cold and wet?” she mused. “I think I prefer tonight just how it is.”

"Yeah?" Sky asked, a tinge of humor infused in his voice as he met her gaze. His arm once again settling around her waist, a position that felt familiar but not in the least bit tired out or boring, Sky nodded as he said, "You know what? I think you're right. Tonight's about as perfect as it can get. Good food, excellent company, beautiful night minus a bit of breeze, shooting stars - what more could we possibly ask for?"
Feeling entirely at ease in Bloom's presence, Sky was reminded yet again how strange it was that he felt as though he had known her for a lifetime and yet little more than a year had passed since they had started dating. Even though he didn't kid himself into believing that he knew everything there was to know about her, Sky was certain that he knew more about her than he knew about any other person - maybe even himself. And the prospect of having a whole lifetime to get to know even more about her was more than exhilarating.

Pondering this for a moment, it didn’t take Bloom long enough to decide that the answer truly was ‘nothing’. Everything was perfect, and there was nothing she could think of that she was wanting right now.
Although...
“I really can’t think of anything, although... if you really want rain we could always make our own...” she said, her tone suddenly mischievous. Turning to Sky with an playful expression, she grabbed his hand and tugged him quicker along the path... toward the fountain.

Immediately picking up on the mischievous glint in Bloom's eyes, Sky glanced around the park as he asked teasingly, "And just what pray tell are you plotting?" Instead of an answer, however, Sky found himself being tugged along the path at a rather brisk pace. Not that he minded. He enjoyed surprises as much as the next guy - and besides, somehow Sky had a feeling that whatever it was that Bloom was planning, it would be good. Pure fun, plain and simple.
Putting up little resistance, Sky trailed after Bloom as a goofy smile of anticipation crossed his features.

Bloom had no idea why she was acting so impulsively, but it felt good. Maybe it was the pure giddiness she felt after a week of stress, or it could be that she felt happier than happy. Or maybe she just wanted to surprise Sky for a change. He was so good at surprising her.
“Me? Plotting?” she played coy, pulling him along. When the fountain came in sight, though, she finally let him go. Finally turning to look at Sky, his expression only made her eyes shine brighter. Suddenly kicking off her shoes, she slipped her arms into the sleeves of Sky’s jacket to wear it proper and jumped up onto the stone edge of the fountain. Teetering a little, she held her arms out to steady herself. The wall around the fountain was wide enough to sit on but only barely.
“Ta da!” she exclaimed, turning back to Sky and beckoning him with her finger. “Now why don’t you get up here and dance with me?”

Staring up at Bloom as she stood barefoot on the fountain's ledge staring down at him, Sky was certain that he was falling for her all over again. She just looked so radiant and full of life and carefree - and truth be told, it was contagious. When he was with her, Sky felt as though he became all of those things as well. It was something he had never truly experienced with anyone else - certainly not with Diaspro. Disa was a sweet person once you penetrated her hard exterior, a person he did care about contrary to popular belief, but she wasn't the one for him. Not like Bloom was.
Bloom made him want to live his life to his fullest. And though he knew some people rolled their eyes at her pep talks, Sky loved them; he loved her optimism, her perseverance, her strength. But most of all, he loved the way she made him feel: like dancing on a fountain in the dark.
Not hesitating for a moment more, Sky kicked off his own shoes and then leapt agilely up onto the ledge. Only needing a moment to stabilize himself, Sky then gathered her in his arms as he replied warmly, "Nothing would make me happier than to dance with you, Bloom." Teasingly, he added, "Too bad we don't have a violinist out here to play for us - or wait, do you have a plot to get one of them too?"

Giggling when Sky unexpectedly kicked of his shoes as well, Bloom stepped to the side to give him room to leap up beside her. The space didn’t last long, though, before she was wrapped in his arms once more. Sliding her own around his neck, she tried to play along but the idea that she had a violinist hiding in the bushes just waiting to pop out was too much. Laughing, she shook her head.
“Sadly, no. I could try to... ‘poof’ one in, but I’d probably end up with some big, scary opera singer or something,” she said, swaying a little. “I’d offer to sing, but I swear, you really don’t want to hear that.”

"It's all right," Sky replied with a deep laugh, grinning as he lightly rested his chin on top of her head. "Your speaking voice is music enough to my ears."
So that was a bit cheesy, but Sky knew that Bloom wouldn't mind or think that he was being insincere. They were both just a couple of goofballs when they were together and if he read Bloom correctly she, like him, wouldn't have their relationship any other way. Besides, who needed all that serious muck? It was so incredibly boring in comparison to what the two of them shared.

Laying her head against his chest, Bloom could feel the blush rise in her cheeks but it didn’t keep the content smile from her face. The only sound around them was the cascading water from the fountain, but that was music enough for them. Swaying together, gentle as the breeze around them, she closed her eyes.
“Thank you for all this, Sky,” she said quietly. “You have no idea how much I needed this.” Thinking about her words, she chuckled lightly. “Or maybe you do, hence all of this.”

Wrapping an arm even tighter around Bloom, Sky gently stroked up and down her back with his free hand. Smiling against her hair, Sky murmured, his voice still tinged with humor, "I'm afraid that I needed this night as much as you did, Bloom. Hopefully, that doesn't make me too selfish, does it?"
Not giving her a chance to reply, Sky expertly lowered Bloom into a dip before pulling her back up against him. Wiggling his brows, he teased, "So how was that for romantic and unexpected?"
Though Sky sometimes liked to pretend that he was a klutz on his feet, in truth, there were few people more agile and nimble than him. Normally, those kinds of things didn't matter to him and he wouldn't give them a moment's thought, but on this night, a night when he was trying to give Bloom a perfect evening of romance, Sky couldn't help but be glad that he was light on his feet.
Because dropping her in the fountain would not have been romantic. Not at all.

If it was actually possible to really melt into an embrace, Bloom would have done so right about now. The feel of Sky’s hand running up and down her back sent a tingling down her spine. It was wonderful.
At his question about selfishness, she was just about to open her mouth to protest when her words quickly turned into a squeal of surprise and delight as Sky suddenly dipped her. Laughing loudly and unrestrained, she held one hand to her chest.
“Be still my beating heart,” she laughed. It was quite impressive, actually. Had she attempted anything more than some minute swaying she knew she’d end up in the fountain quicker than she could blink. “You’re just full of surprises, aren’t you?”

"I suppose you could say that," Sky replied with a roguish grin. "Besides, I've got to be if I want to keep you on your toes. Wouldn't want you to start getting bored with me and having to end up going to find a more interesting fellow to wine and dine you. And even though I'm sure he'd be a nice enough guy," Sky said with mock severity, "I'm afraid that I'd have to give him a pounding if he lured you away from me." His lips quirking into a smile, he teased light-heartedly, "You wouldn't want to be responsible for the poor guy getting whipped, would you?"
Breathing in a deep gulp of the fresh night air, Sky chuckled as he looked up at the stars. "Could you imagine the controversy I would create if I did something like that? I think it'd give my mother a heart attack."

Bloom openly scoffed at the very idea that Sky could bore her enough that some guy could steal her away. Like he was ever getting rid of her, and like he could ever be boring! As if!
“Oh, I could picture it now! Prince Sky, heir to the thrown of Eraklyon, getting in a brawl! And over an Earth girl? The scandal!” she said, putting on a tone of mock indignity. “Why it would be something of discussion for hundreds of years! I just couldn’t let you sully your name like that. I guess I’m stuck with you.”
Giggling, she poked a finger in his chest and grinned up at him.
“Besides, the same goes for you, Prince Charming. If some Miss Perfect comes along and you let her steal you away, I could not be held responsible for my actions.”
