If there was anything Holly hated, it was traveling between realms. It always affected Pixie Magic. She looked at the table that was right there and she landed on it. She looked at the mirror and nodded. She put the nutcracker right near it and began to fuss with her cloak and dress, trying to get them smoothed.
Her brown eyes widened when she saw a figure step into her range of view in the mirror. "Oh icicles, who are you?" she asked, stepping back in surprise.

Palladium looked up in surprise at the figure that was peering at him from outside the mirror and realized that it was indeed a pixie. The only question - why was she here?
Stepping closer to the mirror, Palladium replied suspiciously, "I am Professor Palladium; and you are?"

"I'm Holly," she said, pushing down her hood and smoothing her blue hair. "I'm one of the Winter pixies. I just came to leave a present for Flora. It's from her friend, Helia. He asked me to bring it to her." Ah, the glorious art of lying and appearing to be telling the truth.

"Ah, yes, well," Palladium replied, still suspicious. Although his senses told him that this Holly was indeed a pixie and not someone in disguise, he still had his reservations. After all, why would this Helia send Flora a present via a pixie's delivery? Why not use the regular mail service?
Vaguely, Palladium remembered the conversation he had had with Flora about pixies stirring up trouble - and something about one wanting to recreate the Nutcracker story . . .
Shaking his head, Palladium replied, "Flora is asleep as is her mother; I ask that you please not wake them. They've had a long night and they need their rest. If you wish, you may leave the present here on the table and I'll be certain that Flora knows of it when she awakes."

Holly smiled. "Thank you," she said ever so politely. "I hope she likes it. Helia spent a lot of time and effort trying to find it for her." Well, that wasn't true, but he didn't need to know that. Oh, she hoped he hadn't realized that she was the one that loved to recreate the Nutcracker. Oh, icicles, if he did... Oh, snowflakes. Well, it was out of her hands now and into Helia's. "Bye!"
With that, Holly disappeared in a puff of snow.

Palladium waited for Holly to disappear before he murmured aloud, "I will have to make sure that Flora opens her present carefully because something still doesn't feel quite right about all of this." Furrowing his brow, Palladium wished that he could remember the name of the pixie who wanted to stir up trouble by recreating the Nutcracker; he was certain that Flora had told him who it was, but for the life of him, he couldn't remember.
Dismissing his thoughts for the moment, Palladium ran a hand over his weary face, smiling wryly. He couldn't wait to get out of his prison. The first thing he was he going to do when he did escape was to take a long nap. One wouldn't think it, but it was quite difficult to get a good night's sleep when one had to sleep on a cold, hard floor, Palladium thought humorously.

Flora woke up the next morning and headed downstairs. "Good morning, Professor," Flora said, her hands touching the table and then the mirror. "How did you sleep?" She was a bit surprised when she felt a package on the table. "Professor? What's this?" She was a bit confused.
It hadn't been there last night. So she was incredibly confused.

"Apparently, it's a gift for you from . . ." Palladium paused, trying to remember the name Holly had told him, "Helia, I believe it was. I admit, I am a bit suspicious of this package as it was delivered by a certain winter pixie named Holly. If my memory serves me correctly, I think that she is one of the pixies you told me about who wanted to recreate the Nutcracker story. In any event, I would take caution in opening it - or perhaps you should have your mother do it for you just to be on the safe side."

"Helia?" Flora repeated. "Well, I did send him a package because I was going home for Christmas but I didn't tell him where my home realm was." She paused a moment and then groaned. "This is going to be an interesting Christmas to say the least."

Being in the package was uncomfortable and having no clue who his fair lady was, Helia was lost and worried. He wanted for her to open the package so bad. One reason was that he could finally get out and the other being he could know who his fair lady was.

Flora started to open the package. "Well, what's the worse that can happen, Professor?" she asked. Her kitten started to play with the paper that was dropped on the floor. Her hands danced across the item in the package. "Why, it's a nutcracker," Flora said, sounding amazed. "I did find them rather interesting."
She bit her lower lip. "Too bad I can't see what he looks like." She sighed sadly. "He must be handsome... And I must tell Helia thank you the next time I encounter him."
OOC: XD the irony is killing me

Helia would have told Flora that he was right there, but there was no use in trying, seeing as he can't talk. He tried to cross his arms, but he could only get them in a position that made him look like a robot, so he put his arms down and made a mad face.

Flora's gentle fingers ran over the nutcracker, taking in every little detail. "Whoever carved him was a genius," she murmured quietly. Her fingers ran across his face. "Someone's not happy." She hugged the nutcracker to her. "Oh, I wish I could see you, little nutcracker."

Helia was sad that Flora could not see him, but not knowing why made him even sadder. He had to admit, being hugged felt comforting. Trying to open his arms, at his attempt of a hug, they opened. Helia was surprised and happy he could move his arms, which he lightly wrapped around Flora's arm.

Flora's green eyes blinked as she felt something on her arm. Her left hand travelled down and she felt the nutcracker. "Why, thank you, Nutcracker," she said gently. "That was most sweet of you." She smiled at him - or in the direction he was. "Maybe someday I'll see you."
