Even though Tash had asked both Chris and Kevyn to come with her when she did this, Tash found that she had to do it on her own. In all truthfulness she really didn't believe that it was her father that was here. It just didn't seem real, if he really was her father why come back now? Tash stopped that train of thoughts it really wouldn't do her any good, but she did need to talk to her mother about what had happened and if there was some way to change what had happened.
Taking a deep breath she knocked on the door, not sure how this latest adventure of hers was going to be taken. After announcing her presence Tash walked into the room only to find that her mother wasn't there at the moment but someone else was. "Do you know when Mali is going to be back?" Tash asked not bothering to call her mother by her proper title and also not giving any information to the person sitting behind her mother's desk.

: Jules glanced up from the book he was reading - the one that had been closest to him at the time. Mali had left him alone and he had gotten bored. "Good question. She said she'd be back later but didn't tell me any of the details," he admitted quietly. "But then, when the mood struck her, she'd rarely give *anyone* details."

"Now that's all to true." Tash returned as she stepped further into the room, curious to see who it was exactly that knew something like that about her mother. There was something extremely familiar about this man but Tash also couldn't remember meeting him before. "Who are you that you consider your self *someone* she should be telling the details to?"

: Jules chuckled quietly, so this was his bouncing baby girl. Looked like Mali too. "Her husband."

"Bloody hell, it's true then." It wasn't that she thought Chris wasn't telling her the truth it was more that Tash really didn't believe it to be true. Dropping into a chair across from him, Tash just stared at him for a minute, and came to the realization that thats why he looked familiar. "Why'd you come back now? It's been what fifteen, sixteen years if not longer." Tash asked, guessing on the years.

: "I had come to talk with your mother about certain things. Like your role in the newly crowned queen's court - that and Strongheart had kicked me out of the castle since I was sulking that I was bored out of my mind since we had no new recruits and those that we had were training the newer members."

"So you came to alleviate your boredom? And what about me and *my roles*?" Tash asked, determined not so show what she was feeling at the moment.

: "Before you jump down my throat about my not being there - your mother was the one that left, not the reverse." He crossed his arms over his chest and sulked. "As for what you're to do. Make sure the queen doesn't bite off more then she can safely chew and make sure she doesn't do anything rash or stupid. You're a voice of reason. That's in addition to being someone she can confide in with hopes that what she tells you would not be spread across every realm."

"And you just let her and us go?" Tash asked brushing away the tears threatening to fall. "You want me to make sure she doesn't do anything rash or stupid? I'm thinking that one is going to be the other way around. As for the confidence, we already do that so that I can do but as for anything related to the Realm of Lovelylocks I know absolutely nothing."

: "I didn't even know she was going to have you and Kaelin. I managed to scrounge up whatever I could about the two of you. She left after my sister was murdered," he said, his voice shaking. He closed his eyes. "Besides, would you have wanted to have had a cripple for a father?"

"I wanted a father. I don't know how much you know about what life was like for us, but I always saw people who were grateful to be alive and with the people they loved, even if they had injuires that we couldn't heal completely. And nearly every time we did there was always some other child who were increasingly grateful that we saved their daddy, so that they could have another day with them. That was the one that thing that no matter how hard mom tried she couldn't be what I wanted most. A Dad. So you can't walk, are you only a set of legs? What about what you can do with your head or your hands are they worthless now that you can't walk?" Tash demanded, rubbing her good hand along her scars.

: "I was trained as a warrior," he said quietly. "Making little trinkets isn't a thing that makes enough money to raise a family." He sighed quietly. "Besides, I think your mother was happy to leave so she didn't have to madness of my family - or have you endangered by my ties to the royal family."

"I can't say for sure about my mother but if she married you which I'm assuming she did as you introduced yourself as her husband then she knew what she was getting into with your family unless she was a mail order bride? And as for the ties to the royal family I have done a wonderful job of doing that one all on my own so it was meant to be. How are these ties to the royal family going to put me in danger?" Tash grilled, as far as she was concerned Danger was a part of everything, and she would know better then most, she grew up dealing with the aftermath of some sort of danger, perhaps not the same kind that this man was telling her about but still.

Mali who had been standing outside the door listening to the last part of the conversation stepped into the room before they could continue. Closing the door behind her Mali leaned against it. "No I wasn't a mail order bride, I knew exactly what I was getting into and I loved the madness, it was everything mine never was. And it wasn't all because of your father's ties to Strongheart that caused me to run. I had just realized I was pregnant when Celise died, and I was afraid that we would be next on Ravenwaves list of people to hurt. I never told your father about you because I knew he wouldn't let me leave then and I was determined that I was going to keep you safe at any cost. I realize that the cost for it was to high for all of us and I regret it but they say hind sight is fifty-fifty."

"So when were you going to tell us?" Tash asked; all this time, they had had a family and her own mother kept it from her. "If he hadn't shown up now, would we ever know about him?" Tash demanded, pretty sure she knew the answer but wanting to hear it from her mother's mouth. Looking back at Jules, "What am I supposed to call you, anyways?" She couldn't keep calling him 'him' and wasn't really sure about calling him dad or father as he hadn't been one to her so far.
