"A little woozy," she admitted. "And I have a mother of a headache," she groaned, letting Sky help her up into a seated position.

"Perhaps you ought to go see the school nurse," Sky said concernedly as he helped her into a seated position. "You know, just to make sure that you're all right - and in the very least, you'll be able to get your hands on some aspirin for your headache."

She reached up and placed a hand on his face. "You were scared, I can see it in your eyes. What happened?" she asked softly, confused.

"You were out of it for quite some time," Sky answered, keeping his voice steady and calm. "I tried to wake you several times, but nothing seemed to work." Clearing his voice, he abruptly switched topics as he said severely, no longer Christine's friend but her team leader, "Now, I'm serious; I want you to go to the nurse - we'll talk about the foolishness of what you did later."

She flinched at the seriousness of his tone. Somehow, she had a feeling that she had really messed up that time.

Now that he was certain that she would be all right, Sky allowed his feelings of irritation at Christine's foolishness to rise to the surface. Yes, her intentions may have been good, but intentions weren't all that mattered - not in a situation that could possibly have gotten her seriously hurt by Darkar. And then what? Of course, then he and Brandon would have had to put themselves on the line to find a way to help her and who knows what hell could have broken loose after that. When it came down to it, Christine didn't think. And while sometimes it was necessary for one to just act - such as in the case of hand-to-hand combat - there were few other exceptions as to when one shouldn't sit back and think before taking action. Christine should have learned that by now, and the fact that she clearly hadn't proved to him that she wasn't quite the top-notch specialist he had always thought her to be - something that deeply disappointed him.
Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Sky closed his eyes. But he wouldn't blow up at her. Not now. It wasn't his way; he didn't like to speak in anger because he always ended up regretting saying certain things. It was better for him to removed himself from the situation until he had completely cooled down. Opening his eyes, Sky finally said quietly, "Brandon take Christine to the nurse; I'll go inform Saladin of what happened. Even if a potential disaster has been avoided, he should still know about it."

Christine opened her mouth to say something, but decided against it. She had known what she was doing was dangerous, but damn it, it was her choice. She was the only one who could get into Shadowhaunt without being seen because of her gift. Darkar hadn't managed to delve too deeply into her head so everything was okay.
"If one of you nice young men have a coat, I'd much appriecate borrowing it. I'm freezing."

Seeing that the blanket that he had spread over Christine earlier in the night had fallen to the ground, Sky bent down and picked it up before handing it to her unceremoniously.

"Thank you," she said quietly. She wrapped the blanket around her and she looked at the others, a look of confusion on her face. "I know there's a time and place for everything but I need to get this off my chest. Whatever evil the Trix has done, that wasn't at Darkar's order. He's letting them play."

Nodding, Sky sighed as he replied, "I should have figured as much; after Icy's hex on Stella a while back and the one Darcy pulled over on me, I should have known. Their actions have just been too random - like they're just stirring up trouble for their own amusement. It's the only logical explanation because otherwise I wouldn't have been a target." With a wry smile, he added, "I'm not important enough to bother with."

"You're the prince of a powerful realm and you're the leader of what was the top team at Red Fountain," she pointed out. "Can you imagine the amount of chaos that could have happened to your realm and any of your realm's allies if you had remained under Darcy's curse?" She crossed her arms over her chest and thought.

"That may be so," Sky replied, "but whatever power I may possess is nothing compared to what they truly want - what they've always wanted: the Dragonfire. So it's just strange to me that instead of throwing their energy into attacking Bloom, they're wasting their time with me and Stella. It doesn't make sense."

"Don't forget that Bloom already is cursed," she pointed out. She walked over and rested her head against Sky's chest. "I just have this feeling we're not done with the Trix playing games with us. And what scares me is that Darcy's operating seperately from Darkar."
