"What have I missed now?" Brandon asked, announcing his presence to the pair before him, he had heard Sky leave their room earlier and when he hadn't returned came to find his friend.

Looking up at his friend, Sky sighed as he replied, "I think Chris was foolish enough to open up her mind to Darkar again; I know she wants to get to the bottom of whatever evil he could be plotting, but putting herself in danger isn't the way to go about it." Looking back over his shoulder at Christine, he continued softly, "She's resting now from her mental exhaustion; she'll probably be out for a good while."

Christine gave a soft groan and her breathing stopped for one minute too long. She gasped softly for air before her breathing returned to a steady rhythm. Her color was still icy pale and her skin was getting a bit colder to the touch.

"Um, Sky that's not resting. We need to get her somewhere warm and fast." Brandon said as he caught sight of Christine gasping for breath. "How long have you two been up here, it's freezing." Brandon commented as he went over to Christine's side.

"A few hours?" Sky replied, long ago having grown numb to the cold so that it no longer fazed him. "I fell asleep so I don't really know for sure . . ." Slowly rising to his feet, he wearily rubbed his eyes as he said quietly, "I tried to snap her out of it, but she wouldn't respond with more than a few murmurs; I figured that it would be best if I didn't disturb her - to let her come to when she was ready."

Christine gasped for air again, her breathing weakening once again before stabling. A faint bluish tinge graced her skin - both from the chill and the trouble with her breathing.

"Can you help me with her?" Brandon asked, not liking what he saw in Christine. Brandon wasn't going to say anything about the stupidity of both of them for being out here when the weather was like this. "Come on Christine, wake up." Brandon said turning his attention to Christine.

Helping Brandon lift Christine, Sky shook his head at his friend's attempt to wake her. "I don't think that's going to work." With a sigh, he added, "We'll probably end up having to take her to Saladin to see if he can figure something out because frankly, I don't know what else we can do for her . . ."

Belle settled on Sky's shoulder. "You could try kissing her - it always wakes up the cursed fairy princess." Hopefully, no-one would ask where the pixies had been. Things had gotten a bit crazy back at the village so the lot of them had returned. Thankfully, Darkar hadn't thought to send the witches after them to find the Codex.

Briefly shooting Belle a curious look, part of him wondering where she had suddenly appeared from, Sky furrowed his brow as he said seriously, "Belle, this isn't a fairytale and besides, Christine doesn't even have any fairy blood in her." Seeing that his words had come out harsher than he had intended, he gave the pixie an apologetic smile before he continued, "I know you want to help Christine, but I don't think that's the way to do it."

"Would it hurt to try it? Besides you don't need fairy blood for fairy tales." Brandon said in an exasperated tone.

Belle nodded. "It's worth a shot. If it doesn't work, then you can take her down to Saladin and have him help," she suggested. She looked over at Brandon. He seemed to be of the same mental path as she.

Knowing that he was outnumbered, Sky wordlessly bent down and pressed a quick, chaste kiss against Christine's mouth before he straightened and then waited skeptically to see if for some strange reason it would have any noticeable effect.

Although her color didn't really improve, Christine's breathing finally became stable and she took a deep breath. Her eyes fluttered open slowly and she looked up at Sky. "What took you so long?" she asked softly, her eyes half open, but perfectly normal.

Not sure how to respond, Sky replied hesitantly, "Glad to see you awake, Chris; how are you feeling?"
