OOC: post "Lessons for All" Christine settled down into a comfortable position, closed her eyes and allowed her gift to take control. Her eyes slowly opened and a glassy expression overtook her delicate features. Darkar had been too quiet and she needed to find out what he was up to - she was the only one who could without actually having to go to Shadowhaunt to find out. So she took on the responsiblity without any of the others knowing - Sky would give her the lecture of a lifetime if he knew what she was doing, how she was endangering herself to aid her team, aid the others. It wasn't the first, nor would it be the last time she ever did anything like it. A look of confusion swept across her doll like features at the moment. It wasn't that she couldn't find out what he was plotting - it was more of confusion that he was allowing the Trix to do whatever they pleased. Surely... No... She wasn't going to let him pentrate her thoughts. But he was so much stronger - so much more adept at using his power. She groaned softly as she felt ghostly fingers rifle through her memories, seeking answers from her instead of the other way around. Tears streaked down her cheeks as she tried to fight against an enemy only she could see and feel. She bonelessly dropped to the ground, the link Darkar had attacked her on shattered in a last ditch effort to save her mind, her sanity from Darkar's influence. It would be many hours before her team would notice her absence - and many more before they thought to look in the observatory for her. And it was supposed to get very cold that night - record breaking cold, and all she had on was her dressing gown. She had been entertaining the idea of going to bed but the desire to help override her desire for sleep. (ooc: obvious tag for the team)

Having spent a good while tossing and turning in his bed, trying futilely to sleep, Sky had finally decided to slip out of the dorms and to head up to the observatory to do some thinking. It was a cold night and while he normally would stay beneath his thick blankets, on that particular night, he felt far too restless and confined. He needed some air, some time alone to turn over in his mind the things that had been happening in his life.
His mother had been writing to him more frequently as of late, somehow having found out about his outing with Alice some weeks ago from one of her spies. And now, she had the idea in her head that he was romantically interested in Alice and that somehow her dreams were coming true. But who knew? Perhaps they were. Perhaps this was how his life was supposed to end up. While it wasn't at all what he had so often wished for, in the past few weeks he felt as if he had finally grown numb to it all. As if nothing really mattered anymore. As if it was insignificant as to who he ended up married to.
But that wasn't entirely true. Not after his conversation with Demetrius a few days earlier. Demetrius had reminded him that love was important and now . . . now he was back to square one. He still loved Christine - he always would - but he also still couldn't just throw the rules of his realm to the wind. That was the difference between his situation and Demetrius', Sky though with a sad shake of his head. No one had really opposed Demetrius and Mena's love whereas he felt as though everyone opposed what he felt for Christine.
Running a hand absently through his hair, Sky pulled the light blanket he had wrapped around himself closer against his body. Yes, he was as confused as always. Go figure.

A faint rustle of fabric a good few feet away from Sky caught his attention as Christine's dressing gown got caught on the breeze. She moaned softly, quietly, struggling to waken but her mind was hiding - traumatized from having been so invaded by Darkar's dark magic.
Tears continued to slip down her pale cheeks.

Spotting Christine, Sky's brows furrowed as he hurried over to her side in concern. After covering her with his blanket, Sky gently shook her awake as he asked, "Christine, what are you doing up here?"

Christine's eyes were half normal, and still half glassy. She was struggling to pull her mind back together. She gave him the faintest of smiles before her eyes fluttered close and she was back asleep - willing or unwilling was a matter of debate.

Having the unsettling suspicion that Christine had opened her mind to some dark force, Sky moved to sit next to her on the floor and decided to let her sleep as long as she needed. Whenever she did regain her strength, he would be here and then . . . then she would have some serious explaining to do.

Christine continued to sleep, never once stirring except for when Sky had shaken her awake that one time. Once again, the seer had bitten off more then she could safely chew and was suffering from her own foolishness as Sky would put it. She'd waken soon - she had to...
But she was still just so tired and just so cold...

Resting his back against the wall, Sky briefly closed his eyes as he shivered slightly. Of course it would be colder up there in the observatory than it was down in the heated dorms. Rubbing his hands up and down his arms, Sky clenched his jaw as he tried to imagine a warm place. "Mind over body, Sky. Mind over body," he repeated over and over to himself, hoping that somehow he would trick his mind into believing that it wasn't actually cold. Unfortunately, Sky thought grimly, it didn't seem to be working. An image of Bloom suddenly popping into his mind, Sky had to smile; what he wouldn't give to have her next to him at that moment. She'd have him warm in a flash; all she would have to do would be to cast a little spell and then . . .
His eyes growing heavy as the long moments of silence passed by, Sky blinked slowly before he felt himself slip into a light slumber.

Another hour passed and still the seer remained asleep - not waking from her hastily aborted attempt so Darkar didn't gain too much knowledge from her. Her breathing was a bit fainter at times but she was fighting to awaken, to be there still. But she was just so tired... And she was so very drained... OOC: For those of you reading the thread, no, this is not me killing her off. Chris will survive this, thank you very much But this is intended as a bit of a shock to Sky's system

His eyes slowly drifting open, Sky cast a confused gaze around his surroundings, his mind still hazy from sleep. Wearily rubbing his face as he began to remember where he was, Sky twisted his back as he attempted to work out the kinks that had developed during the course of the night - the night! Jerking his head up, Sky walked over to the ledge and stared out at he sky over the school in complete bafflement. How had that much time passed when it felt as though he had just shut his eyes a minute ago? How was it already morning - granted, it was very, very early in the morning, but morning nonetheless . . .
His thoughts trailing off, Sky turned his head as he looked back over at Christine. Thinking that he had seen her stir, he asked, "You awake, Chris?"

Had she been able to, she would have answered with a sleepy five more minutes and drifted back off, but given her current state, she was in no condition to even offer a snide comment to Sky.
She continued to sleep, her breathing faltering for a few moments before becoming normal once again.

Growing concerned with Christine's lengthy sleep, Sky walked back over to her side and moved to sit down next to her. His brow furrowed, he, unsure of what else to do, gently took her hand, a small chill running down his spine as a part of him wondered if perhaps there was something wrong with Christine other than sheer mental exhaustion. Quickly brushing aside this thought, Sky shook his head; no, he simply wasn't going to think things like that. It would only drive him crazy and that wasn't something he needed at the moment.

Christine moaned softly but didn't stir. Tears continued to slip down her cheeks before the tears subsided and she lay there, motionless, seemingly lifeless.
She had only been in a state like this once before - and that was when Sky had been a dragon.

Lightly wiping the tears off of Christine's cheek, Sky remained silently by her side, wishing that he had the power to wake her up - that he could have proof that she was going to be okay. But he didn't. All he could do was wait, however frustrating that was.

Her lips parted slightly as she gave a soft moan. All it would take was a simple kiss - a single kiss to waken her. She was after all a fairy princess, as Sky had nicknamed her when they were children, and kisses always awoke enchanted fairy princess. Darkar's touch in her mind had dropped her into this state - with the only way out being that of a prince's kiss.
But she'd fight - she'd have to. Sky wasn't in love with her - wouldn't give the freeing kiss. She continued to fight, to struggle to waken.
