Flora nodded. "I'm just glad my family hasn't found out about all the excitement. Knowing my mother, she would have pulled me out so fast, I wouldn't have had time to breath," she said quietly. She wished she had the courage to ask for one dance but... he was her teacher... Palladium smiled as he replied, "Well, we couldn't have that, now could we? You are, after all, one of my best students; if you left, I am afraid that the reports I turn in to Ms. Faragonda on the average student performance would drop significantly in percentage." With a chuckle, he added good-naturedly, "And then I would have some explaining to do - something I would much rather avoid."

Flora flushed prettily at being called one of his best students. Usually, that title was awarded to Tecna, so she was a bit amazed to be called that. "You raise an excellent point, professor," she said softly. Her eyes drifted about and her blush deepened. "Perhaps I should stop distracting you from your duties as chaperone," she said as her eyes alighted on the same couple that disturbed Lady Strongheart and the Prince of Eraklyon.

Following Flora's gaze, Palladium grimaced; in all honesty, where were the students' sense of modesty? For goodness sake, they were in public; there was a time and place for that kind of behavior - and this was not it. Frowning, Palladium finally replied, "I suppose you'll have to excuse me while I go take care of that."

Flora nodded and covered her eyes, trying not to feel ill from the display. Honestly. That sort of stuff was supposed to go on *behind* closed doors.

Turning to go, Palladium hesitated as he glanced back over his shoulder at Flora. Giving her a slight nod, he said quietly, "It has been a pleasure to speak with you; I probably won't see you again for the rest of the night, but I hope that you continue to enjoy yourself."

"And the same for you," she said, feeling just a bit awkward and confused. The evening had to get better - didn't it?

Musa sighed. She was liking the party, liking the music, but was a little bit bored. She wanted to dance... Want to talk to her friends... Where they would be? She wondered. And what they would be doing now? Musa thought, a bit curious.

Watching Alice get whisked away to dance by some masked gentleman, Karina felt a hint of her jealousy of her friend rise to the surface. With a sigh, Karina acknowledged that even when Alice was disguised, she was still pursued more than almost any girl. Feeling her spirits start to sink, Karina forced herself to put a smile on. The reason why Alice had so much success in making acquaintances wasn't just because she was beautiful - she was also exceptionally charming. And that was what she was going to be tonight too; after all, she had more than her share of being the party's resident wallflower.
Squaring her shoulders, Karina gazed around at the people dancing before she spotted a handsomely dressed guy standing alone a few feet away. Her hands suddenly feeling clammy, Karina briefly closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and then walked over to him in a way that she could only hope was graceful. With a warm smile, she asked, surprised at how bold she was being, "I know that this is usually the guy's job, but what can I say? I'm a city girl and we like to take matters into our own hands; so with that in mind, would you care to dance?"
To her surprise, the gentleman chuckled and then held out his hand to her. Accepting it, Karina felt herself slowly be led out onto the floor and then moments later, she was dancing with the best of them. Smiling inwardly, Karina laughed to herself; perhaps there really was something to the whole 'putting yourself out there' theory.

Kaelin stayed right where he was floating in the void between them, he wouldn't couldn't do anything to help her until she touched him.

When he hadn't reached out to her when she moved closer, Tash started to close the last little space between them. Still he didn't move, didn't even say anything. With that Tash reached out and lightly touched his hand. You promised to leave after this Tash reminded him before asking if he was ready.

Grasping her tightly Kaelin pulled her tightly against him effectively stopping her struggles as he fought his way back to her body. Ignoring Tash's screams for him to leave her alone, Kaelin kept going. Reaching her body Kaelin forced her back into her body. Once he was sure that she wouldn't be able to escape back to the darkness, Kaelin slipped away back into his own body.
Kaelin slowly opened his eyes before falling back away from Tash, he just lay there on the ground trying to regain a sense of balance. "She'll be okay." he managed to say before closing his eyes.

Slowly Tash started to come to, wincing as she opened her eyes, looking around she didn't know what to make of the people standing around her. "Psi? What happened?" she groaned.

Psi pulled her into a tight hug, closing his eyes tight to fight the tears of releife that were threatening to spill. "You scared us, pretty bad" he said softly. "I thought I would lose you" He didn't care who was standing there, he was just glad she was alright.
