"I see. It's back to being your turn for question asking, I believe. I feel silly being the person who doesn't know anything..." She wrinkled up her nose in annoyance.

: "Sometimes, it's good not to know," he said quietly. "Now... do you have any siblings? I need to know in case I have to ask for their blessing."

She shook her head. "None that can be found at any rate. I have an older brother, but I've never met him. He supposedly disappeared before I came to the palace, though. Most think he's dead, as if he isn't, the throne's his. Not that I'd mind too much."

: "Here's to hoping he's alive. And I hope he approves of me - I know how some people are when it comes to their female relatives."

"I don't think you'll have too worry too much about getting permission or blessings from anyone. Primarily because there isn't anything to disapprove of, and even if there was, I wouldn't care what they said. Not as if they'd be marrying you."

: "True, but I just want everything to be perfect for you," he said, gently kissing her neck. "And I want you to be incredibly happy."

"Then you're already doing a wonderful job." She lightly nuzzled him and gave him a kiss.

: Brian smiled softly and held her close. "I'm glad," he said quietly. "So, what did you think of my mother?"

"She looks like she knows what she's doing. Very prepared and... wise, although if there's a better word for it, I can't think of it. I haven't seen your father though. Care to give me an idea of what to expect, other than old fashioned?"

: "One of his classic lines. 'Oh and get thee hither or prepare to die.' Yes, he's very old fashion, especially in his speech. But he will treat you like you're a very special young lady," Brian said. "He worships the ground my mother walks on."

"Then it sounds like I'm in very good luck. I'll have pleasent in-laws to deal with." She grinned. "Now you... Maybe if you're lucky, you won't have to deal with my father very often."

: "I take it he's a," he paused and cleared his throat, censoring himself. "Lovely. Well, I'll put up with him. I'll even be nice to him."

She laughed. "If it wasn't for the fact that we're both royalty and related to each other, I wouldn't put up with him unless I had to. He's not much of a father, anyway. I didn't even know I was related to him untill I was thirteen, so there's very little love between us to begin with."

: "Does that mean I can hit him? Please?" Brian asked. "How could he wait until you were thirteen before getting to know you? He's an idiot."

"I'm afraid you can't hit him. Not unless you fancy a night in jail. Needless to say, I'm happy that I didn't know him untill then. If not, I wouldn't be me." She smiled. For the sake of not getting Brian riled up, she wouldn't mention the whole "I killed my mother, and my father wanted to kill me at birth because of it" talk. Not unless he asked for more detail, that is.
