As Chris, she had pleaded illness as a way to keep from going to the dance. She wasn't going to dance. She was going to be working. She had to get paid somehow to continue to attend Red Fountain - the school wasn't cheap. - Christine stepped slowly onto the stage that had been set up in the hall. She swayed back and forth to the music, her blue eyes drifting across the assembled students of Red Fountain and Alfea.
She started to walk across the stage, before starting to sing, her dark blue gown swishing with every movement. "When we met, I knew then, There was something cool about you, Even though, Some my friends, Didn't notice it at all, You and me, All alone, Took a walk and started talkin', We stayed out, All night, Counting all the stars. I don't care what they say, I don't care what they do, 'Cuz they all fade away, When it's just me and you, Well, it's more than a crush, An impossible rush, I don't care what they say when you're there, I don't care....
All my friends, Think you're weird, But they don't know much about you, Why we just, Disappear, When you're hangin' out with us, So your hair, Is a mess, They don't know how good you treat me, I pay no, Attention, 'Cause I know who you are.... I don't care what they say, I don't care what they do, 'Cuz they all fade away, When it's just me and you, Well, it's more than a crush, An impossible rush, I don't care what they say when you're there....
Tell me stories, Paint a picture, Hang it in the sky, Tell no lies, And keep no secrets, Time stands still as days go by.... I don't care what they say, I don't care what they do.... I don't care what they say, I don't care what they do, 'Cuz they all fade away, When it's just me and you, Well, it's more than a crush, An impossible rush, I don't care what they say....
I don't care what they say, I don't care what they do, 'Cuz they all fade away, When it's just me and you, And it's more than a crush, An impossible rush, I don't care what they say when you're there, I don't care."

Flora stood near the rest of her friends, playing with the hem of her rose colored gown. "Singer's good," she said quietly. "What do you guys think?" She was nervous - just a bit. Both subjects of current and active crushes were in the room.
Helia was chatting with the other Specialists, trying to figure out what the plans for the dance and the aftermath was going to be.
Professor Palladium was standing with the other teachers, chatting about school related stuff. His gaze drifted and settled on Flora, causing her to blush and hastily look away.

Christine gave a quick twirl in place. "This is going out to all the Alfea girls," she called out over the microphone. She grinned and bobbed her head a bit.
"You're the one and only you, Express it any way you want, Style the way you feel inside, And rock this world, Daring to be different, 'Cause you don't wanna be the same, You're totally unique, An independent girl.... Show yourself, As you really are, You gotta.... Stand out, be proud, Time for you to shine, You're special, beautiful, You're one of a kind, You stand out from the crowd, Everybody knows, Individual, original, And it really shows, 'Cause you stand out....
Funky fashion, get reaction, You know how to be yourself, Own it, 'cause you know it, When it's feeling right, Confident inside your heart, You know exactly who you are, Go ahead and do your thing, The way you like.... Show yourself, You know you're a star, You gotta.... Stand out, be proud, Time for you to shine, You're special, beautiful, You're one of a kind, You stand out from the crowd, Everybody knows, Individual, original, And it really shows....
There could never be another you, You're like nobody else, A style that's all your very own, Be happy with yourself, Because you stand out, be proud.... Dress the part of how you feel, Be the one you know is real, 'Cause you're perfect just the way you are, Stand out, stand out, Don't you know you really gotta.... Stand out, be proud, Time for you to shine, You're special, beautiful, You're one of a kind, You stand out from the crowd, Everybody knows, Individual, original, And it really shows, There could never be another you, You're like nobody else, A style that's all your very own, Be happy with yourself....
Stand out, be proud, Stand out from the crowd, Stand out, be proud, Stand out from the crowd, Stand out, be proud, Stand out from the crowd, Stand out, be proud, Stand out from the crowd...."

OOC hope this is ok thought Amaryl might turn up at the dance.
Amaryl strolled into the room her gold silk dress clung to her slim form. She glided acroos the room to where Flora and her friends where standing.
"Well look who made it. I heard you lot were going to be stuck in detention for the dance. Tut Tut darlings you really must learn how to behave properly," sneered Amaryl.

OOC: s'kay
Flora kept her temper and stilled her tongue. Getting into a fight at the dance would not be fitting. "Hm," was Flora's only answer on the matter. "So, Amaryl, what do you think of the singer?" she asked, neatly switching topics from their behavior to the dance.

"Well Flora the singer is positively awful and her clothes are hideous. I cant imagine why Ms Faragonda hired her." replied Amaryl.

Flora glanced up at the stage and saw that the singer was off and milling around. "If I were you, which I'm not, I'd be careful with what I say. She's out and about, milling around," Flora said. Oh, the last thing needed was a cat fight. Even if it might be entertaining..

"Is she really!! Perhaps I could give her a few fashion tips as she is obviously in need of some,"suggested Amaryl. "There she is Ill just go have a word with her."
Amaryl walked over to the singer and tapped her on the shoulder. " Darling we really have to do something about your fashion sense if you want to make it BIG. Now lets start with your....." "OW!!!!!You eally dont have to hit so HARD!!!!"
Umph thought Amaryl I was only trying to be helpful.
OOC hope that was ok.

OOC: 'twas fine
"I think my fashion sense is just fine. I'm only here because I'm getting paid," Christine said, flicking a stray curl out of her face. "But thank you." That came out in a frosty nearly Tecna like tone. She plastered on another fake smile - heaven knows she stopped giving real smiles along time ago. "If you excuse me," she said in a quiet tone.
She allowed herself to drift away, heading for the Winx Club girls. She was a bit curious. She had mentioned to that hero she had heard about them. She wanted to see what they were like...

Tecna was on the opposite end of the ballroom, arms tightly folded over her chest and skeptically eying the behavior on the dancefloor. How did she manage to get dragged along to yet another one of these social functions?
Her fingers involuntarily tapped on her knee as she watched the singer at center stage. Maybe it was the mood, maybe the ambience, but Tecna found herself quite fond of the selection for this year. She was far more melodious than last year's selection, which was some horrible excuse for grunge or some other youthful fad...
Tecna's critical eyes surveyed the room for any other familiar faces.

"Hey, Tecna," Flora said, appearing next to her. "You just missed Amaryl." For once, Flora's always sweet voice faltered for a moment - as if the girl in question was a literal thorn in her side. "I think she went to talk to the singer, who had decided to mingle for a bit..."

Tecna had to pause for a moment and think before realizing that Flora wasn't quite pleased with the rabble-rousing Amaryl. "That is a good thing, right?" She kept her voice low, trying to remain blended into the wall.

"Not when she's going over to offer fashion advice to the singer," Flora said. "Especially since the singer is a professional. I heard Miss Faragonda hired her from that club in Magix just for this occasion."
Flora tugged the hem of her dress again, feeling nervous. "I'm so ready to run screaming from this hall, Tec." Her green eyes were a bit wide and she was constantly glancing from right to left. "Helia's ignoring me for the most part but Professor Palladium isn't. I've caught him glancing my way several times. Help?" The help came in an undiginifed squeak.

Tecna paused, bringing her eyes up from her tapping fingers to the pleading green eyes of her friend. She felt a twinge of sympathy for her, but instead the boorish words erupted from her lips, "What, are wanting Helia to pay attention to you, too?"

Flora blushed. "I want him to glance me at least once. All he's done is talk to Sky. And we all know how good Sky is at romance." A hint of venom could be heard in Flora's tone. She still didn't fully trust Sky, especially with that triangle of his.
"And I'd like it if Professor Palladium wasn't so obvious. I mean, I'm sure the other teachers have seen him look at me." She was back to tugging the hem of her dress again.
