Christine stared out at the area, sighing quietly. She'd go back in later, jump back into her role as "hostess" and "enjoy" herself. Although, if this is what she was going to have to do once she assumed her place as ruler of her realm. For. Get. It. Sleepless nights are not fun. She gave a small yawn. She closed her eyes for a moment and slowly opened them when she heard someone approach from behind her.
She slowly turned her head to glance over her shoulder to see who was behind her. A soft, albeit tired, smile graced her features. "Now isn't this familiar," she said lightly, laughing a bit.

"I suppose," Flora said. "I just wish Sky wouldn't encourage her hopes and then shatter them. He's really a beast sometimes, Layla." Wryly, Layla replied, "You know, sometimes I just have to wonder if Sky does the things he does intentionally because he's a jerk or accidentally because he's just an . . . idiot. Well, whichever reason it is, my feelings for Sky still haven't changed that much. Except now I don't so much hate him as much as I prefer not to spend extended periods of time around him - anything much longer than a few minutes, and my skin begins to crawl. He just rubs me the wrong way." "I know, I'm trying to be nice since he's with Bloom and Bloom's my friend but," Flora said before pausing and shaking her head. She could recall Demeter's memories of Sky's darkened prince. At least he was far more honest in his dealings with the seer, no, her name was Christine. She leaned in closer and smiled at Layla. "Of course, I'm leaning towards intentionally because he's an idiot, but that's just me."

"So only girls can judge people? But as you are fishing for compliments. What kind of compliments are you after, cup cake? Some thing complimenting your beauty, your talents or your witty way with words." Brandon asked, his eyes sparkling with mirth. Scrunching up her face as though she was in deep thought, Stella said after a moment, in a matter-of-fact tone, "I just can't decide, cupcake. So I think you should indulge me and tell me all the reasons why I'm the only girl you've ever been truly in love with. Mmhmm. That's what I want to hear."

Giving Flora a pointed look, she continued, "I'd much rather talk about something more interesting . . . " Sneakily Layla nudged Flora as she finished, "Like your love life."

"My love life?" Flora blinked. "What love life? I have a love life?" That was a new one. And something she could barely remember. Some memories were hidden from when Demeter was in control. "Refresh my memory because I don't remember."

Sky smiled wryly as he asked, standing with his hands in his pockets, "So have all the wounds healed enough that we can joke about all that happened with Darkar?" With a small laugh, he continued, "If so, I would now warn you that if you feel inclined to jump off the balcony, it wouldn't be very prudent as I'm afraid I left my disk at Red Fountain."

"Oh, no, I learned my lesson. Jumping from balconies end up with me breaking a leg and I don't enjoy pain," she said. As for his question... "For the most part," she said. "I still have nightmares from being his prisoner. You?"

"More like what you want from your love life. Translation: whatever became of you and the Professor?"

Distantly, he responded, "I know it's not healthy or anything but I usually try to block those events from my mind. Otherwise I think I would go insane from guilt."

Not after nearly turning him into a tree and all," she continued, assuming that Layla meant Professor Palladium. She sighed quietly, and looking a bit confused. "And which professor was I in love with? I really don't remember, Layla..."

"So, how did your parents react to seeing your scars?" she asked, giving him a wry grin. "I can't believe you forgave me for doing that." She reached over and touched one, wincing as she did so. "I'm so sorry about that."

"and which professor was I in love with? I really don't remember, Layla..." At Flora's statement that she had no idea who she had been in love with, Layla very nearly choked on her food. Clearing her throat, Layla hoarsely gasped, "You really don't remember?" Frowning, she muttered under her breath, "Maybe it's better that you don't know . . ." But no . . . she couldn't withhold that from Flora. Sighing, Layla replied, "Professor Palladium. You were in love with Professor Palladium."

Musa sighed. She was a bit worried with something, and she couldn't explain exactly what it was. She saw Flora and Layla and decided talking to her friends. She thought that she saw Sky too. She was going to talk to him as well. She decided forgeting her worried, and try to have fun.

Flora's green eyes widened and her cheeks went crimson. "Oh my," she said quietly. "I really didn't remember, Layla. The thing... she locked memories away so that's why I'm confused." She allowed herself to droop. "But if I was in love with him - he's shown no signs that he could have shared the feelings."

She reached over and touched one, wincing as she did so. "I'm so sorry about that." At the touch of Christine's hand, Sky drew back as he skittishly replied, "Can we not talk about all what happened? I mean, it's just that it's my birthday and all, and I'd rather not spoil the fun." Quickly changing the subject, Sky continued, "You know, I meant to thank you earlier for putting together all of this but I didn't know what to say. I mean, it was very thoughtful of you to do all this, Christine. You really didn't have to but you did, and that means a lot to me. So thank you."
