"What? Do you think that I'd be callous enough to do it on purpose? Because I didn't! Things happen! People change and people go on with their lives! And sometimes, you can't avoid hurting people, no matter what you do!”
He glowered angrily back Brian.
“On top of that, there’s more than just Chris out there in the world! I care about Chris, but I can’t just go and tell Bloom that ‘I’m sorry, but because I ended up making some mistake in the past, I have to drop everything and fall in love with someone else now!’ Not because it wouldn’t be right, but because I. AM NOT. IN LOVE. WITH HER. Do I remember what I was thinking back then? NO. But as a kid, I could never have realized what was going to happen! You can hold that against me all you like, but isn’t going to change anything. ”

: "One, you're flying again. I really wish you wouldn't do that. It's starting to get tiresome seeing you blow yourself up because you're getting pissy," Brian said. "And two, good Lord, it's like I've stepped back in time. You always did get this riled up when I talked to you about my cousin. Especially back when you were still in the "pull her hair" stage." It amused Brian that they had fallen so easily back into old habits. Of course, Sky was never a dragon when they argued in the old days.

Sky didn't really remember those old days, so he didn't have much to reminisce on. But still a nagging voice in his head told him that perhaps he could just leave Bloom and make amends for the stupid things he'd done in the past. Of course, he ignored that voice. After all, if Bloom was being faithful to him, how could he betray her? Though the fact that she didn't come very often did bother him a little.
He was careful to let out his flames in a manner that wouldn’t drop him hard onto the ground, although he did make sure that he was facing more towards Brian than anyone else as he did so. It may have been childish, but he felt that Brian probably deserved it.

: Brian reached up and wiped the soot and ash off his face. "Childish, aren't we? I piss you off and you breath fire in my direction. I still think you're a candidate for anger management." Brian closed his eyes a moment. "You know, if she was awake... She'd probably be yelling at us for acting this way," he said, his voice breaking. He had to be strong - had to be. Chris depended on him - if that prince couldn't break Ommadon's hold on his cousin, then who could. A small golden pendent glittered in the pile that made up "Gorbash's" bed. Brian spotted it when he opened his eyes and he walked over slowly.

"Hey, she's going to be all right. It wouldn't be like her to just sleep forever. "
He nodded, and felt a little triumphant at having gotten Brian in the face.
"And when she does wake up, we're both going to get beatings in some shape or form..."
Sky had not noticed the pendant. Not yet, anyway...

: "You don't get it, do you? The only thing that can wake her up is Ommadon's Crown. And it's not going to be like we can ask him to hand it over!" Brian nearly snapped. "For all we know, even if we do get the crown, she could remain like this." He returned his attention to the small gold pendent and he picked it up, the clasp slipping open and something tumbled free. Brian picked up the item and unfolded it. It was a picture of two children - a male and a female with a crown of flowers. The female was curled up close to the male, her eyes closed. OOC: as noted in the thread "History: Summer Fun"

Sky looked over at what Brian had picked up with curiosity. The picture in the pendant looked very familar, but then he realized exactly what he was looking at.
"Hey, That's me!" He cried out in surprise. His fuzzy memories of that summer were becoming more vibrant and clearer. He remembered that night they had been in the attic, and how it had felt when he had grabbed her hair and done all sorts of nasty little boy tricks.
Of course, he also had remembered that he had been a bit surprised when Chris hadn't reacted the same way that Brandon did when he had done them. Along with that, he also remembered the disappointment that he felt when he had learned that he'd never see Chris again and that he couldn't stay in the Magic Realm forever with her.

: Brian said nothing, just continued to stare at the picture. It was clear to everyone at the time that the two liked each other. The only thing that never made sense to Brian was - why did Sky's parents act the way they did? Surely it couldn't have been because Christine was a "halfbreed" - so, she called several realms home. It wasn't her fault her family tree was so messed up. He also remembered the time he threw Sky in the lake for some stunt that had hurt Christine's feelings. More then once for that matter. And he resisted the urge to tell Sky that this was why he didn't like him - that Sky had Chris's heart by the time that this picture was taken and when he never contacted her again, her heart shattered. "So.." Brian finally said. "What do we do now..?"

"I don't know..." Sky sighed. He was quieter now and seemed rather subdued.
"Why don't you take care of Chris? I need some time alone, all right?"
Things were becoming far more complicated than he ever imagined them to be.

: Brian nodded and wordlessly scooped up his cousin, adjusting her so she fit comfortably in his arms. Although, Christine didn't look like she truly fit in her cousin's arms, at least, if anyone happened on the scene - one couldn't tell that the male cousin loved the stricken female. He nodded once again and silently made his way from the arena. What Sky would do after he left was something he found himself not really caring about...

Sky closed his eyes for a moment and shook his head. He had no idea what he was going to do now. Except for thinking. It wasn't as if he much of anywhere to go or anything to do. That and he had been handed a whole new hand of problems to deal with. Problems that even this quest wouldn't be able to solve.
