: "Sir Brian Neville-Smythe, Chris Strongheart's cousin," Brian said, standing up and dipping into a slight bow. The fact that the dragon spoke did little to surprise him. He was used to talking dragons. First matter was finding out what the prince's intentions were toward his cousin. And informing said prince that cousin was female if he was still harbouring the impression that Chris was male. Second matter was the threat of castration if he so much as thought about harming his cousin. "And I didn't quite catch your name," he said, addressing the dragon. "What is it?"

OOC: I'm not sure if Sky's realized Chris's gender, so until I'm corrected, we'll say that he doesn't.
IC: "You're Chris's cousin? It's a pleasure to meet you... How's he doing? It's been a while since I've heard anything from him or Peter." Sky looked interested at the prospect of finding out what was going on. Living with dragons was not something he enjoyed, and the quicker he was able to find a way to become human and/or mobile the better.

OOC: and he would have found out in Informing Sky if our Sky player was here ::sulks:: : "Oh, my, they really kept you in the dark, didn't they," Brian said. "Chris is short for Christine, as the name suggests, my cousin is a female." He was going to enjoy the flustered feeling the dragon would get when he learned that. He paused and looked away. "She's not well. And Peter's trying to find a way to help her.."

Ponding the last name that Sir Brian had given him, Kaelin finally askes "You said Neville-Smythe, any relation to Orin Neville-Smythe?"

: Brian resisted the urge to make a snide comment about the relationship. "Sir Orin is my father," he said blandly. "Next question?"

"Nope that is all I wanted to know." Kaelin responded barely containing his grin.

OOC: Sir Brina? : Brian suddenly had an icy hand of fear run down his back. Oh, no, not a fan of his father. Oh, that could get messy - and messy quickly. He glanced over at the dragon to see how he reacted to what he had told him.

Sky looked a little guilty and flustered at the same. Well, as guilty and as flustered as a dragon can look at any rate. Chris was both a girl AND injured, and on top of that, he hadn't known of either! The combination of both was more than a little shocking.
Rashiel contented herself to listen to Kaelin and Brian talk. She hadn't a clue as to who Sir Orin Neville-Smythe was. Someone important and Brian's father, as she had gathered from the conversation but that was it. She wasn't inclined to ask about it, though. She didn't want to look foolish.

: "Apparently, some of the sand merks escaped Red Fountain and terrorized Alfea. Christine was in the group that went to take them on... And she was struck down by their chattering," Brian said quietly, informing Sky as to what happened. "The doctors don't know if she'll ever awaken."

"I see..." Sky attempted to stay calm. He had to, otherwise who knew what he might do if he got upset. Chris had been his friend and that meant something to him. Certainly, his feelings weren't like the ones that he had for Bloom, but Chris was just as important to him as Brandon or Riven or any one of the other members of his team.
How could something like this happen? What had Chris done to deserve such a fate? Those thoughts raced through his mind.
How could all of this be fixed?

"Her and another girl, it was something like, Fauna, no Flora. Flora is doing all right. Since you know her as well." Kaelin told Sky. "It was the merk that Tash and I were chasing, the last one." a haunted look quickly flinted across his face before he composed himself again.

: "I can see if my uncle will let me bring her down so you can see her," Brian offered. Perhaps that would bring the dragon some measure of peace - to see what happened to his team-mate. Either that or just make the dragon feel worse.

"I... Thank you. I'd appreciate that. If I wasn't like this, I'd visit her myself..." He answered back quietly. He sighed and closed his eyes momentarily. How odd that he'd feel so helpless in a form so huge and powerful seeming in comparison to his normal self.
Rashiel was uncertain as what to do. She wanted to see Christine out of curiousity, but now this meeting had seemed to take a much more personal turn. She nodded to herself in agreement. Now would be a tasteful time to leave so that she wouldn't intrude on Brian and Sky/Gorbash.
"If you don't mind, I'll take my leave. It was a pleasure meeting and talking to you, Sir Brian."

: Brian nodded at Rashiel. "An honor and privilege to talk to a woman like you, m'lady," he said softly. With that, Brian left the arena and headed in the direction where Peter told him to find Christine. He wordlessly scooped his younger cousin up in his arms, making sure she was in a comfortable position and carried her to the arena. Christine lay perfectly still in Brian's arms, the only sign of life was the fact that her chest still rose and fell in perfect rhythm. Her lips were parted in a soft semi-open mouth smile.

Looking to Sky and quietly asked, "I know that we do not know each other very well but do you want me to stay? All you have to do is tell me to go and I will."
