Christine spotted him heading for the stands and excused herself from Layla and Riven. She raced over and promptly leapt on his back, something she did when she was smaller and lighter. "Hey," she chirped in his ear. OOC: Since this is in the History board, I'm going to assume that Sky is still with Bloom at this point in time. Caught off guard by the sudden added weight to his back, Sky lost his balance slightly and stumbled but managed to remain on his feet. Craning his neck and seeing a familiar lock of brown hair that had slipped down over his shoulder, Sky smiled as he bent and allowed Christine to slide down to the ground. Giving her an amused look, Sky laughed as he said, "And hello to you too." Inwardly, however, Sky was breathing a deep sigh of relief that Bloom was not in attendance today; as far as he knew, she had decided to travel back to Earth to visit her parents for the weekend. And it was a good thing that she had because, more likely than not, if she had been around to witness Christine's greeting, blood would have been shed in a flash. Such was Bloom's way. Her temper always had a way of getting the best of her, of taking over her at the most inopportune moments and making her utterly irrational. And as much as some people hated it, it was one of the things he loved about her. She was unpredictable - a true spitfire.

"So, did Brandon tell you about the bet that was going?" she asked, rocking back on her heels and smiling up at the prince. She absently smoothed her racing uniform and waited to see how he reacted to her question.

Sky shook his head as he replied, "No; I haven't had a chance to talk with him today." Gesturing at the track, he added, "I spent my morning doing practice laps with some other guys and since Brandon wasn't racing, our paths just didn't meet." Sky shrugged as he asked, "So fill me in, what's this bet all about?"

"Well, Brandon and you had a bet going with me, Tash, and Layla. If racer 21 beat you, you had to pay for dinner at the place of our choice. And," she said, twirling around so he could see the number on her back - which was 21, "racer 21 beat you. So you guys owe us dinner."

Sky raised his brows as he said with a good-hearted chuckle, "Hold up, wait a minute - I owe dinner to you guys? Well, how in the world is that fair if I wasn't made aware of the bet, hmm? And what if I'm broke, what then?" Wagging his finger, he teased, "That wasn't a very nice thing you did, missy. In fact, I'll have no part of it."

"Oh, c'mon Sky," Christine mock whined. "Brandon had no problems making the bet, he even thought it'd be a good idea. He just didn't know I was going to be in the race." She gave him her best tear filled expression. "Please?"

"Nope, nuh uh, not gonna happen," Sky joked as he tried to keep a straight face, a smile tugging all the while at the corner of his lips. "I simply won't be a part of this immoral behavior." As his shoulders began to shake with laughter again, he shook his head and held up his hands as he said, "But in all seriousness, I would love to treat you all to dinner - it'll just have to be on a different night." Giving Christine an apologetic smile, he continued, "Since today is the day when all the students have the opportunity to go home, my mother insists that I pay a visit to Eraklyon. The only reason why I'm here now was because I wanted to take part in the races, but now that they're done, I'll have to be leaving shortly. What can I say? Duty calls."

Christine's shoulders drooped for a split second before she looked up at him with a resigned smile. "Okay, just remember, you promised." She tried to not look upset about having him abandon her - she had hoped their team would spend some time together.

Catching her saddened expression, Sky lightly chucked her under her chin as he said, "Come on, cheer up - you should be glad that I'm leaving. I am quite the annoying pest after all. Now you can spend your time with better company - you know, Brandon and the other guys." Seeing that his words weren't having the desired effect, Sky added, "And I promise I won't forget about the dinner. When I get back from this trip to see my parents, I'll get everyone together and we'll all go out for a night on the town. Let's see, there'll be me, you, Brandon, Riven, Layla and Tash. But of course, Brandon will want to bring Stella and Riven will probably bring Musa, meaning that I'll end up bringing Bloom and of course, there will be Tec and Timmy and Flora just because they won't want to be excluded . . . and holy crap, I'm going to be poor when I get through paying for all these dinners." Sky paused and then laughed quietly as he added, "Not that I mind, of course."

"Okay," she said quietly. "Have fun with your family." She just hoped Sky didn't ask her why she hadn't been at home with her family - however splintered it was.

Sky grinned as he replied, "You do realize that you're talking about my family, right? I think it's virtually impossible for me to have a good time with them; but then again, I suppose most people say that about their parents." Sky paused and then asked nonchalantly, knowing that her family was a sensitive topic, "So, are you planning on sticking around here or do you think you'll do some traveling?"

"My stepfather is in various conventions for the school he works at. My mother is pushing me to become a proper princess and my father is off on some diplomatic something or other. So, I'm here. Hooray," she said blandly. She offered him a weak smile.

Sky smiled in return as he gave her a light pat on the back, "Well, it's not like you'll be alone; lots of students still opt to stay in Magix during the Day of the Rose." Sky thought for a moment as he tried to conjure up some names of such people before he added, "Like Musa." Hesitating for a moment, Sky sighed inwardly. He could tell that Christine probably needed to talk to someone, but he had to get going or his mother would have his neck. Shoving his hands into his pockets, Sky said finally, "I've got to go, but you know, if you need to talk, you can still call me on my cell. I do get long distance service, you know. Anyhow, I guess I'll see you around?"

"Yeah, okay," Christine said quietly. "I'll see you later then." She gave him a slight hug - one that a friend would give a friend.

Returning the hug for a moment, Sky then stepped back and turned to walk away before he paused and glanced over his shoulder with a grin. "Oh, and congratulations on beating the crap out of me; I probably should have known better than to teach you all those tips of mine. That's to say, I should have known it would come back to haunt me in the form of you putting me to shame out on the track."
