She sighed softly. "I don't think we have much left, just a further confirmation and then we can leave and head for the dinner afterwards," she said, feeling slightly ill. Her appetite had pretty much left her. She allowed the box to drop from her hands as she let Karina lead her back to the ceremony.

Leading Christine back into the chambers where the ceremony had been going on before being interrupted, Karina gave her a small smile and then went to sit back down by Tash and the others. Silently, she hoped that Christine was right and that the ceremony wouldn't last much longer. Casting a worried look at her friend, Karina somehow doubted that Christine would be able to keep it together for long before she broke down again.

The other lords approached Christine, kneeling down in front of her and repeating the oath that Byron had sworn - only without the nasty mess afterwards.
Christine sat in the throne - seemingly emotionless, not a single trace of emotion or life could be seen on her pale features.
A small boy, the child of one of the lord, looked around and in a rather loud voice asked a question that would get the realm buzzing. "Where's the Queen's Champion? The wolf that saved her?"

Tash who had stayed behind and kept the people seated until this event could continue, leaned over to Karina. "How's she holding up?" Tash asked a little worried for her friend.

"Not so great, I don't think," Karina whispered back, a small frown marring her forehead. "From what I understand, she's convinced that she and Sky are really through this time around because even after she gave her heart to him in front of all these people, he can't seem to do the same for her . . . it really broke her heart."

"Bloody hell, that selfish idiot." Tash murmured, having to rant a little. She was on her best behavior so far, she hadn't even said one snarky thing all day; it was an all time record for her. Tash glanced at Chris, it looked like she was here in body but not in spirit. With that in mind, Tash knew that Christine would finish this as it was protocol, then Tash was kidnapping her away from all these Lords. They could live without their queen for a day, and she didn't give a damn if they thought other wise. Also making a mental note to track Sky down and finally say everything she had kept quite about so far. "He sure picks interesting times for his little revelations." Tash sighed about the only thing she could do was be supporting by just being here.

Karina nodded silently in response before her own thoughts tugged her away from the ongoing ceremony.
A part of her definitely agreed with Tash - Sky was being selfish. One would think that after Christine's public display of her love for him, he would at least have the decency to treat her in a way that didn't end up with her in tears . . .
But another part of Karina couldn't judge him so harshly - even after what he had seemed to do to her friend. Because, according to Alice, who she regarded as someone who possessed an excellent judge of character, Sky was a decent, courteous person with impeccable manners and a deeply held sense of propriety. Frowning, Karina bit her lip. So if he was such a good person, how could he stand to break Christine's heart? It just didn't make sense to her. Especially when it was obvious that he felt at least something for her. Was it really just because of his feelings of duty to his realm? That seemed a very strange reason for a person to deny himself his happiness, but what did she know, Karina thought wryly. Like she had told Christine, she never saw the point in all that hoighty-toighty royalty stuff. It seemed to be more of a burden than what it was worth . . .
Shaking her head at the unfolding drama, Karina absently smoothed her skirts as she quietly wished that somehow things would turn out for the best for all the involved parties.

Finally, the pomp and circumstance was done and Christine felt herself a puppet who's strings had just gotten cut. She allowed herself to visibly droop before standing up slowly. "My lords, my ladies," she began in a voice devoid of life, "thank you for coming and making this the most memorable coronation Lovelylocks has ever seen." Irony notwithstanding.
She cast a helpless glance at both Tash and Karina.

Once Christine had thanked everyone for coming, Tash rose from her seat and went to Chris's side. Now what would be the fasted and least insulting way to the lords to get Christine out of here. Although if it came down to it, getting Christine out was more important then the Lords feelings. "Let's go. You must have a hide away somewhere."

Christine stared blankly at Tash for a moment before snapping back to life. "My bedchamber," she said. "It's one of the few places that I can hide in."

"Lead the way then, I can't remember how to get to your rooms from here." Tash said as she screwed the any formality she had left and wrapped an arm around Christine's shoulders.

Christine leaned heavily on Tash, convinced that she wasn't going to be able to walk on her own. The trio of females - Tash, Karina, and Christine - silently made their way to Christine's bed chamber.
She settled down on her bed and stared up at the pair, feeling half alive.

Once the ceremony had finished Brandon finally left his post and went hunting for Sky, something must have happened and he wanted to know why Christine looked like her world was coming to an end.

"If you two want to head down to the celebratory dinner, please, go," she said softly. "I don't want you two to feel like you have to babysit me..."

Tash settled down next to Chris, she would change later, as much as she hated dresses that was the least of her concerns at the moment and some how she really had to figure out how she managed to spend a third of her time in a dress. "I'm not, truefully I was hoping for an excuse to avoid it. Want to talk about it?" Tash asked sure she already had a idea of what was going on but wanted to hear Chris's version.
