"I don't see why we can't. Let's go for one." Brandon said, perhaps them leaving for a little while would help Stella come to terms with him and her boyfriend sharing a name.

"So, which way?" she asked softly. "I'll let you lead," she said just as softly.

Having sought out refuge in a small, easy to miss alcove in the hallway, Stella's body shook fitfully as her mind desperately tried to sort through the shock she had just received.
Brandon. That was Brandon. Her Brandon. It had to be - there was simply no other explanation. Why else would she have felt like she knew him when she hadn't even known his name? Why else would he have reminded her so much of Brandon? No, that couldn't be just a coincidence. If his name had just been Brandon and if he hadn't shared all the traits that she knew so well from her two years with Brandon, perhaps she would have been open to the suggestion that it was a freak occurrence. But his name was Brandon and he was just like the man she loved. So even though he may have claimed to be Angelique's boyfriend, he wasn't. He was hers.
Bringing her hands to her mouth, Stella suddenly let out a tiny cry. Her poor baby . . . all that must have happened to him. All that she hadn't been able to save him from . . . perhaps if she had just found him faster, he wouldn't have had to gone through what he had and now, instead of him having not the slightest clue who she was, he would have been safe in her arms.
Feeling immensely guilty and sick, Stella sank to the ground and closed her eyes. Yes, she had failed him . . . but somehow, someway, she would find a way to fix things. She would get him back to the way he was even if it killed her; she wasn't about to give up on him. Not now. Not ever.
But he wouldn't let her help him if he thought she was crazy - and he probably did now that she had bolted the second he had told her his name. Her mind slowly clearing, Stella rose firmly to her feet, her chin squared in determination. No, she would have to pretend for the time being that she was okay - that she believed that his name being Brandon was just a coincidence. And then, when the truth came out about who he really was, she'd be waiting for him with open arms. Her heart lurching painfully, Stella knew that there would be Angelique to deal with too - but she couldn't focus on her now. What was most important was getting Brandon back.
