"We will find him, Stel. I'm sure of it," Flora said softly before pausing. "Did Angelique and her boyfriend tell you what his name was? I feel odd calling him the boyfriend.."

Laughing softly, Stella replied, "Yeah, me too, but I guess we'll just have to stick with that for now because I forgot to ask him for his name."

"Okay," she yawned. "Let's start with what we know and see what we can come with now in order to help the young couple. That way," she yawned again, "we're able to help them quicker and who knows, maybe they can help us find Brandon..."

"Okay, let's see . . . well, I suppose the most important thing is that this Dr. Moreau is a serious freak who takes people for his experiments either from their homes or right off the street. Angelique said she has been in Lost Souls - that's where the lab is - since she was a little girl and her boyfriend was apparently taken off the street only a few days ago. So I'm thinking that tracking down the guy's family is going to be easier than finding Angelique's." Shaking her head as she rested her chin on the tops of her knees, she continued, "But I suppose that even before we begin thinking about tracking down their families, we'll have to find a way to reverse what Dr. Moreau did to them. Hopefully once we do that, their memory will return - now that I think about it, we probably won't have to help the guy find his family. Once he gets his memory back, he'll probably know just where to locate them. But as for Angelique . . . I don't know if she'll even remember the first thing about her family even if her memory is restored in its entirety. She was taken at such a young age that she might not have any memories of her family that can be restored."

"Okay, did Angelique say what her last name is? I can see if I can find out anything about them via the Realm Wide Web. That would be the easiest thing. Once we find out where her family is, then we can try to see what we can do about reuniting her with them."
She bit her lower lip as she thought. "I suppose we could talk to Professor Palladium. He might have some leads on how to reverse it. After all, the science that was probably used to turn them is probably close to the subject he teaches so.."

Squinting her eyes as she tried to recall if Angelique had told her her last time, Stella then nodded as she said, "It was something like Dev . . . Deveraux. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's right."

Flora flipped open her computer and started typing. "Deveraux, Deveraux," she murmured to herself, trying to find a realm where that family could live.
Her eyes caught sight of a newspaper clipping from some obscure realm. "What have we here?" she whispered to herself. "Ah, listen to this, a little girl was taken on the eve of her tenth birthday from this realm. Last name. Deveraux. Parents have been looking for her for years."

"That's so sad," Stella murmured as she scanned the words on the screen over Flora's shoulder. "That poor, poor family . . ."

"I say we wait until we get her back to normal before we contact them," Flora said quietly. "The last thing we want to do is get their hopes up, thinking they're getting the girl they remember back and here's this cat girl that answers to their daughter's name."

"Yeah, I suppose you're right," Stella replied. "That would be a pretty big shock . . . although, if they're decent people, which I hope they are for Angelique's sake, they won't care what she looks like. But I guess if they've been waiting this long to find her, they can wait a few more days . . . or however long it'll take for us to get her back to normal."

"Too bad I don't have a few dozen lovely art programs, the kind Bloom was drooling over," she said quietly. "Otherwise, we could take a picture of the pair and do a photo revert so we can see what they'd look like when they're human."
She yawned again and looked at Stella. "Let's bug Professor Palladium in the morning. Maybe he can help."

"Sounds like a plan," Stella replied before she added, noticing Flora's yawns, "Why don't you go ahead and go back to sleep. We'll need to be well-rested if we're going to have any success helping Angelique and her boyfriend."

"All right," Flora said, trying her hardest not to yawn. "I think Bloom's bed's free of clutter so you can sleep there.."

Walking over to Bloom's bed, Stella crawled tiredly beneath the sheets and then closed her eyes. It was a relief to be back at school - even if she knew that she would face some repercussions. Faragonda probably wouldn't be too pleased with her running off on a whim to look for Brandon, but she didn't regret what she had done. It had been the right thing to do and she would do it again - well, minus the getting lost part. Her thoughts going back to Lost Souls, Stella shivered. That was one place she could do without visiting again for the rest of her life.
-
Some hours later, Stella moaned softly as she rolled over onto her stomach, her mind fighting for her to slip back into the darkness of sleep. Squeezing her eyes shut, Stella wondered if it had all been a nightmare. That Brandon had never gone missing. That she had never run off in search of him. That she had never run across that couple at Lost Souls . . . opening one eye, Stella sighed. No, it hadn't been a dream. Brandon was still gone and she still had to find a way to help Angelique and that boyfriend of hers.
Wearily pulling her body out of Bloom's bed, Stella glanced over at Flora's still sleeping form before she quietly slipped out of the room. She had to go check on the couple, to make sure that they were all right. A wry smile tugging at her lips as she crossed the hall, Stella knew that they probably hadn't even risen yet; it was still far too early for anyone - let alone her - to be awake. But this wasn't any normal occasion. Her beauty sleep was going to have to be put on hold for a while - until things had gone back to being normal.
Entering her room, Stella glanced over at Angelique and the boy's sleeping forms; satisfied that they were fine - well, as fine as could be given the circumstance - she went to sit at her desk. Flicking on her computer, leaving her desk-light off, Stella idly surfed the Realm Wide Web, deciding that perhaps she shouldn't leave Flora to do all the research.

Brandon woke when someone entered his room, only to remember that it wasn't his room after all, last night they had escaped. Looking for what woke him Brandon saw a faint light form the other side of the room, Brandon tucked the blanket around Angel before going to see what was causing the light. Seeing the girl that helped them, Stella, sitting there Brandon relaxed.
"Shouldn't you be trying to sleep?" Brandon asked, having had more then enough sleep kept an ear for when Angel woke.
