Flora found herself back in her dorm room, still in her dress from the dance. A small note on her bed table informed her that the school nurse brought her back and had her in bed.
She ran through her head everything that happened at the dance and buried her face in her hands and wept. She had made such a fool out of herself. Helia probably thought the worst of her as did most of the Winx Club. And she had no idea how she was going to face Professor Palladium in class the next day.
Things couldn't get any worse, could they?

Knocking lightly on Flora's door, Layla peeked her head into the room. Seeing Flora in bed, Layla asked, while giving a warm smile, "Hey, is it okay if I come in here? I wanted to make sure you were feeling better after what happened in there . . ."

OOC: ::runs in out of breath:: bouncing between accounts - oi
"I made a complete idiot out of myself," Flora said behind her hands. "I bump into Professor Palladium and then another student bumps me even further so it looks like we were about to kiss. Then Miss Griselda spots us and I promptly faint in his arms."
She lowered her hands and looked up at Layla. "How can I face everyone tomorrow?"

"Well," Layla began as she crossed the room to sit beside Flora, "wasn't it you who said: 'what's the worst that can happen at the dance'?" Smiling to show that she meant for her words to be taken with humor, Layla continued, "I think you just answered your own question."
Realizing that she probably wasn't helping that much, Layla reached out and gave her friend a comforting hug. "You'll face everyone just fine tomorrow. It'll be a little difficult at first, but by the end of the day people will have forgotten about it - and if not they'll have to deal with me, okay?"
Nudging Flora playfully, Layla continued "But can you honestly say that everything that happened was so awful? If I'm not way off the mark, it looked like you and the professor were enjoying each others company."

"Thanks, Layla," Flora murmured quietly. "I'm just nervous. I probably should talk to him tomorrow and apologize for how I acted tonight. Lord knows I need to. He probably thinks I'm a child."

The door swung open, and in jumped a fairy with glasses almost falling off her nose and braids flying everywhere. Flora gave a little inward groan; something seemed very suspicious. After all, her last memory was Griselda's embarrassing her. Now her daughter was to come bouncing in?
"Hi everyone! Flora, you really looked stupid! Haha! Well anyway, who wantza box of chocolaties?"
(OOC: Sorry for speaking for Flora. That's twice in one night I spoke for someone other than my characters! Oh well...the thing is, I like to write from other's points of view as well. Makes it more interesting. I sure as heck know I'm not always right.)

Flora shook her head. "No thank you, Doyne. I haven't the stomach for anything right now," she said. Heaven knows she probably would be ill - maybe she could blame what happened on her having been drunk on an empty stomach. Maybe he'd buy it...

Layla glanced at the person who had just entered Flora's room; she honestly couldn't put a name to this girl's face. Surely though Layla must have met her somewhere. Frowning, a slight line creased her forehead; whoever the girl was, now obviously wasn't a good time for her to be here.
Clearing her throat to get the girl's attention on her, she said politely, "Do you think you could give Flora and me a few more minutes alone? We were kind of in the middle of something . . ."

OOC: relating to nothing but I'm going to kill my parents' radio. It's that bloody "Loopy-di-lou" song from the 50s/60s. And I hate that song. With a passion.
Flora looked up at Layla and gave her a grateful smile. "Thank you," she whispered in her softest voice. The last thing she needed was Doyne making comments that really didn't help her situation at all.

Layla gave Flora a subtle smile and squeeze of the hand. Whispering she replied supportively, "No problem; this is what I'm here for, you know."

"I just wish tonight never happened, I really do," she said quietly. "I'll never forgive myself if I did anything that ruined his career here and anywhere else." Once again, her sweet sympathetic nature was making a mess of everything for her.

"Hey now, don't be so hard on yourself. I know you feel horrible about what happened, but honestly, from an outsider's perspective, everything that went on between you and the professor looked innocent. So try not to worry too much - you'll wear yourself out and we both know that won't help anything."
Layla considered telling Flora not to worry about the professor's career because she doubted that it was in any danger whatsoever, but somehow she knew that nothing she said could make Flora stop feeling guilty. Reluctantly Layla admitted that this was another one of those things that Flora had to figure out on her own and that all she could do was try to be supportive of her friend.

"Do you think I could borrow Piff later? I think I might need her help to get me to sleep tonight," she murmured quietly. She had a special fondness for Piff after having taken care of her while Layla rescued the other pixies.

"I'm sure Piff would love to spend some time with you - she definitely misses you, Flora. I mean, you took such good care of her when I was away . . . I don't know if I ever told you how grateful I was, but I am."

Flora smiled. "She certainly was a little dear. She loved storytime when I put her to bed. And she especially loved the fairy tales I weaved for her." Taking care of the little pixie and the bondless pixies was something Flora truely enjoyed - since she had such a high level of maternal instinct.
