Flora settled down on a large floor pillow that she had whipped up as a present for Stella - it had been a floor pillow for each of them for when they settled in Stella's room to do sleepovers and make overs.
"Stella, I was wondering if you could help me out," she said, smoothing the soft fabric of the pink velvet cushion. "I.. I think I could stand a make over. Do you think you could help me? I want something that would catch men's eyes."

Never one to conceal her opinions on fashion and beauty, Stella nodded her head as she said bluntly, albeit enthusiastically, "It's about time, Flo! I've said it before and I'll say it again, your wardrobe has got to go. I mean, no offense, but we're sophomores now; that means we're not little babies and even if it hurts to hear, sweetie, you've got seventh grade written all over you."
Grabbing at Flora's topic, Stella arched a brow as she continued, "Frilly tops? Uh uh. Hoop earrings? Double uh uh. Remember, we want sophistication - well, that is, if you want to," Stella wiggled her brows teasingly, "attract men." Doing a twirl, Stella laughed. "Take me for example. I am the essence of style and flair." Flipping her hair dramatically, she asked in a mock sultry voice, "Aren't I beauuutiful, dahling? Don't you want to learn from the best?"

"I suppose, I just want to catch a certain man's attention, maybe make him even a little jealous," she admitted. She had to nod. "I had hoped to find out what the latest style in earrings were at least. I'm kinda, sorta tired of my hoops." She had to pout a bit. "But I like my tops, but I suppose they are a little out of date. But don't forget my people aren't too big on fashion. But, I do suppose I could stand a fresh wardrobe."

Patting Flora on the back, Stella said, "Well, have no fear; you're in good hands! We're going to get you in perfect shape to attract this certain fellow; how does that sound, hmm?" Moving over to her vanity to pull out some essential items, Stella asked over her shoulder, "So who is this lucky guy who has made you get over your fascination with the ever boring professor? Does he go to Red Fountain? If he does, I'm sure I can have Brandon drop him a word and point the lucky duck in your direction." Glancing over at Flora, Stella asked with a wide grin, "Let me guess - is it Helia? He's adorable, if you ask me. And on top of that, you guys would be so perfect for each other. He's a pacifist; you're gentle. He's gorgeous; you're gorgeous - it's a match made in heaven!"

"I'm still a bit unsure of myself and Helia. I mean, we did say we would still be friends but it's rather awkward," she admitted to Stella. "And as for the professor, I'm so confused. I mean, I just have the barest hint of memories from before." She glanced away. "I'm just lucky I have friends like you all to help me get back to normal."
She paused. "The only request, don't touch the bangs. I like my honey blond bangs."

Stella frowned as she said, "Listen, sweetie, you know I love you to death and all - and because I do, you've got to hear me out because I want what's best for you. You've got to get over your crush on the professor. I mean, I get that you might think you're 'in love' or something, but really, come on. He's what - at least ten years older than us and he's a teacher here and if he's worth anything like you say he is, he should realize that he can't cross that line with you. I'm all for people falling in love, but sometimes . . . sometimes you've just got to play by the rules."
Quietly, Stella added as she fiddled around with her hair brush, "I hope you aren't mad at me for saying that, but I'm only saying it now - before you really get your heart seriously broken." Tilting her head to observe the effect her words would have on Flora, she added softly, "I want you to be happy. I really do. But I don't think you can be with him. At least not right now. Not when you're this young. Come on, we're what? Seventeen? This is our time to have fun, to enjoy being young. Why don't you try to date someone our age? It might be fun, hmm? You don't have to date Helia if you guys decided on being friends, but what about someone else? There are lots of cute, available guys at Red Fountain who I am sure you could fall for if you just gave them a chance."
Pausing for a moment, Stella realized exactly all that she had said. And that Flora didn't really remember all of that. Feeling like she should smack herself for forgetting the fact that Flora probably barely remembered what the professor's name was let alone his feelings for her, Stella smiled sheepishly as she tried to make her words disappear. Quickly fumbling for makeup, she said with an overly bright smile, "Shall we find your best shade?"

"Stella..." she started, pausing a moment to gather her thoughts and sighed. "Stella, girls our age are getting married in my home realm," she finally said, deciding to be blunt. "And you know how, what's the word Bloom uses, oh yes, anal I can get when it comes to following tradition."
She rubbed her hands together. "Besides, I... I rather marry the professor than..." She went silent, not sure how to bring up the whole "Marry me or I'll hurt your family" threat that was a "birthday present" from Bryar.
She paused, and considered Stella's question. "I think so, but you're going to have to explain the beauty terms," she said with a soft laugh. "Shade makes me think trees.."

Relieved to have a distraction, Stella opened her makeup bag as she said, "The key to looking fantastic is to make it look like you didn't do anything to yourself at all. Having lots of visible gunk on your face? So ugly and so ten years ago. This year's look is called "fresh faced." I don't think I really have to explain that, though - it is just what it sounds. We want to make you look natural. That should make you happy, right?" Not waiting for an answer, Stella continued, "Now, obviously you're going to have to get your own makeup because my stuff won't suit your complexion, so of course we'll have to go shopping this weekend."
Tapping her chin in thought, Stella pushed herself to her feet as she walked over to her closet. "Since there isn't much we can do in the realm of makeup right now, we should move along to clothing." Pushing open the doors to her closet, Stella laughed as she said, "I'm sure we'll be able to find something in here to help us get started with your transformation. Half of the things in here I've never even worn and probably have forgotten about, so it'll be like going shopping in a store - except you won't have to pay a thing. How awesome is that?"
Stepping into the closet, Stella critically pulled a few dresses off the hangers. "Now, for starters, exactly how daring do you want to be, Flora? Because I've got everything in my closet from the super modest to the 'is she actually wearing that in public?'"

"Modest but not too modest," Flora said quietly. "I don't want to have my parents ship me to a convent if they find out," she said with a light laugh. "But I want something that will catch attention without detracting from my natural looks. You know what I mean, right?"

Stella nodded in understanding as she began to shift through the pile of clothing that she had laid on her bed. "Too racy, not a good color for her complexion, too plain," Stella mumbled to herself as she sorted the dresses into various piles. "Ah! Here's one that will be perfect for you, Flo." Turning around to face Flora, Stella held up the pale yellow dress with blue floral accents down the front. "What do you think? Yay or nay?" OOC: The dress Stella is referring to is the one Flora wears in the Season 2 finale because I wasn't creative enough to think up a new one

Flora tilted her head as she examined it. "I like it," she said, giving Stella a soft shy smile. "But the question is more "will it fit me" rather than "do I like it"," she added with a soft laugh. "We do have a slightly different build."

"Nonsense," Stella replied with a wave of her hand. "We're almost exactly alike. Sure, I might be a tad bit smaller in the hips, but I'm certain that we have the same size waist - and that's all that really matters when it comes to this particular dress." Running her hand over the dress, Stella said, "It's quite flow-y, so there will be plenty of room and if necessary, you can make alterations. I don't need it back - I don't even know what I was thinking when I bought it. It's not my color at all; but on you, I'm sure it'll look perfectly dreamy."
With a mischievous smile, Stella said, "Now, all you need is a place to wear it and someone to take you out in it . . . what would you say if I said I wanted to set you up on a blind date? And if I promised that the guy I picked was a total hottie, not a jerk, and loved the environment? Well, maybe he wouldn't love the environment, but he wouldn't be a litterbug either. Would you let me?"

"I don't know," Flora said. "I"m not even sure what a blind date is. I mean, back home, we didn't have anything like that..."

Flopping back onto the space she had cleared on her bed, Stella replied as she looked up at the ceiling, "It pretty much is what it sounds like - you go on a date without knowing who the guy you're going out with is. It's a thing friends do for friends - you know, like a set up." Sitting up, Stella looked at Flora as she said, "But never mind what I said; now that I think about it, blind dates probably aren't your style. You'd prefer to meet a guy on your own, right? Without silly interference from your friends?" Stella smiled as she continued, "Don't worry; I understand that not everyone likes to be set up. But you can't blame me for trying; I just want to see you live it up a little. No offense, sweetie, but you're not exactly the life of the party and I think if you were for once you'd see that it can be really fun."

Flora laughed. "You have a point," she said quietly. "But don't forget, I can't help my upbringing. I was brought up to be quiet, shy and retiring." She laughed again. "And if you thought I was bad, you should have seen my mother when she attended here. She was supposedly worse then me." She giggled at the look Stella gave her.
