: Darcy was sitting in an ice cream shop, her long dark hair pinned up so only her streaks were hanging free. She looked far younger then she did when she was playing evil queen of darkness. She felt... strangely relaxed. And content to eat massive amounts of ice cream. Her one guilty pleasure. She was just about to take another bite, the spoon poised just inches from her mouth when a familiar male dropped into the seat opposite her. "Fancy running into you here, Riven," she said, hesitating a moment before sliding the spoon into her mouth.

"Yeah, well, let's just say I needed to get away from some things." With a grimace, he muttered as an afterthought, "From some people." Lapsing into a brief silence, Riven then said suddenly, a characteristic smirk gracing the corner of his mouth, "So what do you say, Darce - want to help take my mind off my troubles?"

: Darcy held the spoon in her mouth a moment longer, thinking. She slowly lowered it and looked at him. "Okay, tiger, I bite. What do you suggest I do?" she asked seductively. She did a full body sweep with her eyes, trying to see if he was pulling a fast one on her.

With a rumbling laugh, Riven stood up and then slid into the seat next to her. Resting his arm along the back of the booth, he leaned in closer and asked with an arched brow, "What? You think I'm playing you? I'm not. Not this time."

: "Last time you accused me of playing you, so fair's fair," she said, before leaning into kiss him lightly on the cheek. She implusively twirled her spoon in her fingers before scooping up a small bit of her death by chocolate triple chocolate explosion ice cream and shoved the spoon in Riven's mouth. She giggled at the resulting expression.

More taken aback by Darcy's kiss than by the sudden sensation of a cold and extremely sweet lump of ice cream being shoved down his throat, Riven quickly recovered and said in a husky voice, "You want to play like that? Throwing surprises at me left and right? Very well. Two can play that game."
Averting his attention from Darcy for the moment, Riven pretended that he was absorbed in the menu on the table before he suddenly turned back to her, pulled her firmly into his arms and unceremoniously kissed her hard against her mouth.
Pulling back just as he felt Darcy's body lean into his, Riven gave her a lazy half-smile, relishing in the feel of the resurrection of his old self. The self that was Red Fountain's notorious rogue. The self that didn't waste his time on bland girls. The self that preferred to walk a bit on the dark side of things.

: Darcy looked stunned for a moment before she regained her composure. "Oooh, spunk. I like spunk," she said, running her fingers through his hair. She snuggled close to him, resting her head on his shoulder. "You do realize that your fairy might not be happy to see you with me..."

At Darcy's reference to Musa, Riven temporarily bristled before he relaxed and draped his arm around her. Shrugging indifferently, he replied, "She and I seem to have gone down separate paths. Hell, I don't even remember the last time we spoke. Must have been weeks ago."

: Darcy nodded. So, the specialist and the fairy were through... That meant... Good, now she didn't have to feel guilty for stealing him away - not that she felt guilty before when she used him last year. Guilt was a new feeling for her - and she didn't quite like it.

As he sat with his arm around Darcy, Riven suddenly said, not entirely sure what was possessing him to tell her that particular thought that had been lurking around the edges of his mind for some time, "I'm thinking of dropping out of Red Fountain." In a mildly sarcastic voice, he continued, "I wouldn't humor yourself into thinking that I'm doing it to be with you - even though god knows that if word got out that I was consorting with a member of the Trix, I'd be branded a traitor in an instant. In any event, I'm just fed up with the drama. Half the time it feels like I'm at Alfea in a room full of teary-eyed girls and not at a school for men."

: Darcy gave a merry peal of laughter. "Let me guess, the chief culprit is that blond princeling. Honestly, the man needs a reality check. I swear, if we could test for angst, he'd top the charts."

With a rumbling laugh, Riven's face relaxed as he said, lightly nuzzling her neck, "I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who hasn't fallen for the prince's 'please pity me - my life is so difficult' routine. For a while there I was certain that only I was in favor of beating some sense into him - literally."

: Darcy gave another merry peal of laughter. "Please, anyone with half a brain would smack some sense into him. I have no idea what any of his girlfriends see in him. Hm.. maybe the," she arched eyebrow, "is good."

"Doubtfully," Riven replied dryly. "Because trust me, if it takes him a year to so much as kiss a girl, he isn't doing anything else."

: Darcy arched an eyebrow. "Dude, that's pathetic."
