"I think we were discussing which of us were better at wrangling dragons, and I had scored a point with the fact that I grew up with dragons," she said, reaching up to brush a stray lock of hair out of her face. "You were about to counter my point when our waiter came up and took our orders so, you beat me in dragon wrangling how?"

Thinking for a moment, Sky tapped his chin before he began with a slow smile, "Well, let's see; although I didn't grow up with dragons, in my time at Red Fountain, I've taken numerous classes that have taught me the necessary skills to successful dragon wrangling. And more than that," at this Sky beamed, "I've always been at the top of the class." Wiggling his brows, Sky leaned forward conspiratorially as he said, "Now, try to beat that."

Christine tilted her head and smiled prettily at him. "My stepfather, Sir Peter Dickenson, is the seven hundred seventy seventh descendent of the man who tamed the dragons of the Magic Realm and also taught them to speak," she began. "And he taught me how to talk to the dragons that weren't tamed. In addition, I have several dragons that I call family." She brought her hand up to her lips and giggled. "So, can you top that?"

Grinning, Sky shook his head as he replied jokingly, knowing full well that Christine had him beat, "Unless you count the fact that I could purchase virtually all the dragons in existence with my inheritance and still have enough left to build a few hundred palaces, then no, I can't top that."

"You could have always pointed out that you had a little stint as a dragon so you do understand them better then I ever could," Christine pointed out. She picked up a small glass of water that the server had left for them. "So, what was it like as a dragon?"

A wry look crossing Sky's face as he recalled his days of being merged with Gorbash, he replied, "Well, let's just say that it was an experience I don't care to repeat ever again in this lifetime." Shaking his head, he continued, "I don't know, it was just . . . weird. There simply isn't any other way to describe it."

"So, where you aware of what was going on while you were a dragon?" she asked quietly. "Or were you sleeping the entire time?" She colored prettily and demurely looked away. "I'm sorry," she apologized quietly. "I shouldn't be asking those questions."

Lifting a brow, Sky replied teasingly, "And why shouldn't you ask those questions, hmm?" Giving Christine a slow grin, he added, "After all, it is my understanding that we're together now - so, by most definitions, that would mean that you have the right to ask me anything you like."

"I wasn't sure that if I was going to offend you by asking the questions," she said softly, lightly squeezing his hand. "After all, it was an awkward experience all the way around..."

Considering this for a moment, Sky then said with a light shrug, "Nope, I can't argue with you on that point - being a dragon certainly wasn't something I would exactly call pleasant. But now that time has worked its magic and that whole experience seems like a lifetime ago, talking about it doesn't bother me so much." With a small chuckle, Sky finished as he took a gulp of his water, "In fact, I can honestly say that I can laugh about it all now."

Christine nodded. "So, what was it like, flying?" she asked, placing a hand under her chin. "It looks interesting but I'm afraid the gift of flight most females our age get eludes me," she said with a soft sigh.

"Flying isn't all that it's cracked up to be," Sky replied with a wry smile. "Or at least, it's not when you're a dragon. I'm guessing fairies like flying well enough, but me - I prefer keeping my feet on solid ground. I don't know, all that floating around is just a bit too . . ." at this Sky paused as he fumbled for a word that adequately described what he had felt, "too surreal, I suppose. I'm a specialist - I'm not built for flying, you know? I guess what I'm saying that even as a dragon, it never really felt natural."

Christine laughed before leaning over to steal a kiss from him. It felt good - and oh so right, kissing him. She settled back down when the waiter returned with their dishes. Christine bit her lower lip and deftly picked up the chopsticks that lay next to their plates and snitched one piece of Sky's chicken, popping it into her mouth.

Playfully swatting Christine's hand away from his plate, Sky teased, "Now, now, that's not very nice. This is my dinner and that is yours." At this Sky waved his pair of chopsticks over Christine's plate. Grinning, he added light-heartedly, "Just because my food looks more appetizing than yours doesn't mean that you ought to just go and steal it."

"I was just stealing a small taste," she said, her eyes sparkling with laughter. "And you know, turn about is fair play, you could always steal from me," she added with a laugh. She leaned over and stole another kiss, feeling quite at ease.
