Holding the Oriental Lily's beautifully ornate door open for Christine, Sky then followed her inside, his eyes taking a few moments to adjust to the dim lighting. As he waited for the host to find them a place to sit, Sky took a bit of time to glance around the restaurant, and then breathed a silent sigh of relief. It was nice - really nice. Quiet, with some interesting music playing ever so softly in the background, and it looked like Stella was right - it seemed like the perfect environment to have an intimate date.
Glancing surreptitiously over at Christine, Sky wondered if she liked it as well. He hoped so - he wanted this night to be special for her.

Christine glanced up at Sky and awarded him a sunny smile. "I haven't seen a more lovely Chinese restraunt in ages. Thank you for bringing me," she said softly, her eyes twinkling merrily.

The host returning to guide them to a table, Sky gave Christine a warm smile in response.
Once they had been seated, Sky immediately reached over the table and again took her hand. It was strange; for the longest time he had wondered if he could ever feel fully comfortable with Christine as something more than friends; the thought had always lingered at the back of his head that maybe they were too good of friends - best friends, really - to be anything more. But now that he was here with her, he knew that he had been wrong to have such thoughts. Because nothing felt more right than this.

Christine lightly squeezed his hand, a smile never leaving her face or her eyes. For the first time, in a long time, everything was going just right. It was just him and her, Lyon and the fairy princess (or fairy queen as she was now technically one).

As a waiter brought them their menus, Sky scanned the seemingly endless lists of food as he said, peering over the top of the page at Christine, a smile dancing in his eyes, "Order whatever you want. Like I said before, tonight is on me. None of that . . . what's that Earth phrase for when a couple splits the tab? Going Dutch? Yeah - none of that."

"That's the phrase," Christine said absently, looking over the menu. "Hm.. I haven't had Chinese since my last trip home. I'll have to ask our waiter what he recommends," she said with a light laugh.

Wanting to keep the mood light, Sky teased, "Oh, come on now - you're going to let some random guy you've never met before tell you what you want to eat. You might as well . . ." Sky trailed off for a moment before he continued with a chuckle, "You might as well just close your eyes and point to something and get that." Tapping his chin, Sky mused, "Actually, that sound's kind of fun, don't you think? What do you say - want to be daring?"
Not waiting for an answer, Sky closed his eyes and held his index finger over the opened page in the menu. Sliding it down a little ways, he then stopped and peeked open one eye. "Sweet and sour chicken." Grinning he added, "Nice. Can't go wrong with sweet and sour anything." Clearing his throat dramatically, he finished, "Now, Chris, it's your turn."

"OOoh, that is a good dish, you'll like it," Christine said softly. She followed Sky's example and opened her eyes. "Oooo, General Tso's Chicken. Hm.. I'll better see if I can ask for it not to be too hot. That's the one dish I ask for Not Hot, as in Not Spicy Hot, at home."

"Can't take the heat?" Sky teased affectionately as he leaned back in his seat, gazing intently across the table at Christine.

"Given how hot Chinese food can be? No, I can't take that heat," she said, laughing softly. "But I'm sure ex-dragons can," she teased back, finally having decided to find some slight amusement at the whole adventure.

A burst of laughter sounding from his throat at Christine's witty comment, Sky nodded as he replied, "All right, all right - you win. I can't beat your wit. Although," Sky grinned as he took on an innocent tone of voice, "I could easily beat you in dragon wrangling."

"Says you. You forget my family line, Prince of Eraklyon," she said, pretending to be offended, but the laughter in her tone quickly gave away the fact that she was more amused then offended. "I've dealt with dragons longer then you have." She playfully stuck out her tongue before quickly becoming a proper lady when their waiter returned.

Wanting to shoot back some clever remark, Sky breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the waiter drawing near. The truth was, he didn't have a witty remark to throw back at her - but he didn't want her to know that. He wanted her to think that he was smart and charming and clever - and the way to achieve that didn't particularly involve saying stupid things. So he had been saved by the waiter. This time.
Chuckling to himself, Sky grinned. It had been a long while since he had been so conscious of impressing a girl - normally he didn't care, but with Christine . . . he wanted her to have the best. And if that meant that he was going to have to put some effort into being funny and debonair, he was going to be more than willing to do so.

Christine flashed the waiter a smile and quietly ordered the dish, making sure to request it to be not hot, which, thankfully, the waiter understood and got a good chuckle from. She ducked her head in embarrassment and glanced over at Sky.

After placing his order and thanking the waiter for taking the menus, Sky turned his attention back to Christine as he said with a wolfish grin, "Now, where were we?"
As he waited for Christine to reply, Sky's mind had already leapt ahead to thoughts of how else he could make the night special for her. Perhaps he ought to take her somewhere else after dinner - to that ice cream shop that she liked. And then maybe they could go for a walk in the park or something. Curfew wasn't for another few hours, so they had plenty of time to do whatever they liked. Although, Sky thought with a mental laugh, he probably shouldn't make all the plans; he had a feeling that Christine would scrunch up her nose at not being consulted.
