Christine pulled her cloak closer to her, the hood of it covering her head, shielding her from view. She had taken to wearing the cloak as a means to retain some of her fabled privacy. Ever since the coronation, her privacy had nearly died. Besides, it was damn cold going into the ice cream shoppe.
Her eyes drifted across the store, trying to find someone - something. There, in the corner was Darcy, the person she had come to find. This reeked of setup but she had no other choice. Sky needed a cure, a way to break her curse, and this was the only way.
She made her way slowly over to Darcy's table and sat down, lowering her hood once she was concealed in the safety of the shadows. "What did you do to Sky?" she asked without waiting for Darcy to fully acknowledge her. "You're the only witch he's encountered and you did threaten to hex him so what did you do?" Sky's freedom from the curse was counting on her.

"Awww, isn't that sweet?" Darcy drawled as she lowered her shades, completely unflustered by her visitor's sudden appearance and tightly drawn features. "You want to help your golden boy; well, I wish I could help, but in case you've forgotten what I am, I'm a witch. And even though I've taken some time off away from my sisters, and even though I've tried to be good, it just doesn't work. I'm not at all like that pathetic witch who transferred to Alfea this year, being a witch is in my blood. I need chaos." At this Darcy laughed throatily before she continued, "Unfortunately for your boy-toy, he was exactly what I needed to have my fun."

Christine arched her eyebrow at the reference to Mirta but kept silent on that. "Why Sky and why the hell did you curse him to turn into a wolf?" she asked, trying to keep her fabled calm. "I think the expression is been there done that got the teeshirt. Now, undo it."

Her eyes growing hard, Darcy said in a dangerous voice, not at all liking the tone Christine was using with her, "I'd watch it if I were you or else you might find yourself in a similar position to your boyfriend. You might think you're tough, but I can change that right here, right now. And just for the hell of it, I think I will."
Taking off her shades, her eyes glowing purple, Darcy said softly, "Reality distortion." Knowing that Christine wouldn't be able to resist the dizzying, confusing effect of her magic, Darcy laughed as she watched Christine lose her bearings before she slipped her shades back on, breaking the hold she had over the girl. Waiting for Christine to regain her hold on reality, Darcy then said coldly, "Don't think for a moment that you can call the shots."

"All right," Christine said, placing a hand to her head as she tried to get her bearings back after Darcy's game. "But you didn't answer my question. Why Sky and boredom's not a good excuse."

"Maybe not for you," Darcy said, resuming her cool, unruffled exterior. "But it's certainly enough of a reason for me. But I guess you'd have to be a witch to understand that."

"Okay, you were bored. Fine. Now, how do we undo it." One way or another she was going to get an answer - a clue as to how to help Sky. She loved him still - and didn't want to see him hurting.

"We?" Darcy repeated with an arched brow, amusement clearly evident in her eyes. "There is no 'we'. And besides, I could care less if what I did to Sky is ever reversed; so you see, I have no incentive to help you."

"I meant we as in my team. I could care less about what you do," Christine said, starting to feel incredibly edgy. There had to be something - someway to get her to tell her the answer, the cure. "Surely there's something a powerful witch wants..."

"And yet, here you are practically begging me for help," Darcy said with a laugh, finding the whole situation very entertaining. "So don't try to pretend that you don't care what I do. I'm all you've got because your team - or should I say 'what team?' - can't help you. But then again, neither can I because I'm not feeling particularly charitable today. So I'm afraid you're on your own. Now, if you would excuse me," at this Darcy looked past Christine to the entrance of the parlor, "my date is here." Inwardly, Darcy could barely contain her amusement, knowing that seeing Riven with her would be a hard blow for Christine to take.

"And tell Riven I said hello," Christine said, rising from her chair. "I can see that he's chosen less then stellar company and I don't want to offend his delicate sensibilities with my presecene." With that, she turned and walked out, feeling a little upset that she had been unable to get the answers they needed.
She sighed softly, and felt herself droop. She was in danger of failing and that was something she just couldn't justify to herself.

Watching Christine walk out, Darcy laughed as she said out loud in a mocking tone of voice, "So quick to turn your back on your friends? A bit hypocritical, don't you think? You want to save Sky from my clutches and yet, you throw Riven to the wind. Tsk, tsk, Christine. Although, Riven will be glad to know that he was right about you - that all you truly care about is your golden boy."

Christine paused in midstep and turned to face Darcy. "He turned his back on us first," she said, walking back over to Darcy. "He gave up on us, on our team."
She lowered her gaze for a moment before raising it. "And he's not my golden boy. He never was. Never will be. I'm helping him because he's my friend. Something Riven's forgotten."

Christine paused in midstep and turned to face Darcy. "He turned his back on us first," she said, walking back over to Darcy. "He gave up on us, on our team."" "Is that so?" Darcy asked with a snicker. "Because I beg to differ. Seems to me that you gave up on Riven a long time before he walked away from it all." Leaning closer to Christine, Darcy continued sardonically, "You try to act like you've done nothing wrong, that it was all him - but if you knew anything about guys - at least the ones with spines - you'd know that there is only so much of pride trampling that they will take. From what he's told me, you weren't much of a friend to him; it was always 'Sky this, Sky that.' So who's the bad friend now, hmm?" In a scoffing tone of voice, she added incredulously, for a brief moment letting it show through that she truly cared about Riven, "For god's sake - do you even know anything about him?"

Christine's cheeks colored as Darcy called her out. "I guess I was put off by his stand-offishness. He doesn't make it easy for anyone to try to get to know him." She hugged herself. "All I know is that he viewed me as a kid sister of sorts."
