Christine sat perched on a stool near the bar, her gaze staring down into the glass Phillip had passed her. It was her second drink she had gotten since she arrived, trying to drown her growing heartbreak. Somehow, somewhen, Bloom had waltzed back into Sky's life and stole his heart away from her - before she had even a chance to put up a decent fight for it.
Didn't Sky know that he was killing her? Didn't he care? "If you leave me now, you'll take away the biggest part of me... No baby please don't go... If you leave me now, you'll take away the very heart of me... No baby please don't go...
A love like ours is love that's hard to find... How could we let it slip away... We've come too far to leave it all behind... How could we end it all this way... When tomorrow comes we'll both regret things we said today...
Cause I need you more than you'll ever know," she sang softly, her gaze still intent on her glass. Her heart was breaking, and he didn't seem to know or care. And that hurt the most. Didn't she deserve a happy ending? After everything she and Sky had gone through, together, they deserved a happy ending... But no, once again, they were being denied it - and Sky's ex-girlfriend didn't seem to care.
She needed Sky - she needed the safety he provided her. Christine couldn't help but think that she always felt safe when he held her. True, she might have be taught to stand on her own two feet, that she was a capable specialist, but there were times when she needed the safety of a man's arms. Especially when she could see such dark days ahead.
"The road you have traveled on is paved with good intentions... It's littered with broken dreams that never quite came true... When all of your hopes were dying, my love kept you trying, and I do my best to hide the pain that I've been through
When I cry at night, and I don't think that you can hear me... I try to hide all the fear I feel inside... So you pray this time... You can be the man that I deserve... 'Cause I die a little each time when I cry...
I've always been there for you whenever you've fallen... When nobody else believed, I'd be there by your side... I don't know how I take it... Just once you'd like to make it then there'll be tears of joy that fill my loving eyes...
When I cry at night, and I don't think that you can hear me... I try to hide all the fear I feel inside... So you pray this time... You can be the man that I deserve... 'Cause I die a little each time when I cry...

"Sky?" she asked, her voice choked with tears.
