"I see," Tecna replied as she critically eyed the plants that were wreaking a small havoc on the tabletop. As one approached her, Tecna quickly lifted her breakfast plate to avoid having egg splattered all over her, but in her haste, forgot about her glass of juice. Moments later, though, she was reminded of its presence as one of the plants knocked it over, spilling the cold liquid all over Tecna's lap.
Her features contorting into a grimace, Tecna reached for her napkin and did her best to clean up the mess as she remarked dryly, "And clearly, Flora, you seem to have some sort of...issue with their choice of conversation topic?"

"I perfer that my lovelife stayed private," Flora said, unclenching her teeth. It was an effort to get her powers back under control after they had slowly spiraled out of control. This was going to be something of an interesting breakfast - especially since the thing of roses was now dropping rose petals all over Palladium.

Tecna said nothing to this but instead, simply lifted her eyebrows again. Perhaps she ought to be more sympathetic, but that just wasn't her nature; she was sorry that Flora was clearly upset and she once again found herself wondering if boys were the only thing Stella and Bloom could talk about, but beyond that, she wasn't taking sides. Because, when it came down to it, Tecna found the whole matter to be rather trivial. The way she saw it, Bloom and Stella ought to learn about other conversation topics and Flora ought to develop thicker skin. It was as simple as that.
Clearing her throat after a moment, Tecna finally said, "Well then, I suppose I ought to get myself cleaned up before class." With a curt nod of her head, Tecna abruptly rose from her seat, walked over to the trashcan to dispose of her breakfast - something she had lost her appetite for - and then exited the dining hall without so much as another word.
She truly did care about her friends, but sometimes she had to wonder why she didn't hang around with people more like herself. There certainly would be much less drama in her life if she did such.

When Tecna showed up and started chattering on about her computer, Bloom found herself very glad for the distraction. On a normal morning she probably would have giggled at her friend’s enthusiasm, but Flora’s mood made it impossible for Bloom to even act interested. Instead she kept her eyes lowered to her plate as she poked at the remains of her breakfast with her fork. Soon enough, Tecna clicked in that there was a problem and Flora was all too keen to fill her in.
Opening her mouth to speak in defence of herself and Stella, it was left gaping open as she watched the flowers staggering around the table, knocking the dishes off here and there.
“Flora, look, can we just...” but it was too late. Before any of them could stop it, Tecna’s entire glass of juice ended up in her lap and she was making her exit.
“Tecna, wait, can we just... ugh.” It was no use. Since her plate was now on the floor somewhere, Bloom let her head fall forward where it hit the table with a painful sounding thud. What the hell had just happened? Not long before Stella had showed up, Flora had seemed quite all right with gossiping about boys, but then suddenly she’s throwing a fit and wanting her love life kept private? Apparently it was alright to gossip about the rest of them, but not her.
“Flora, couldn’t you have just, I don’t know, asked us to drop it?” she asked, a hint of annoyance in her voice as she stood from the table. “I’m going to go find Tecna.”

Watching as Bloom rose to follow Tecna out of the dining hall, Stella sighed as she mentally debated whether to leave as well or to duke it out with Flora some more. She probably ought leave - more than likely, Flora probably didn't want to be around her right then - but Stella was stubborn and so she stayed put.
After Bloom had gone, Stella then turned to Flora as she said in a harsh whisper, "All right, spill. I don't care if you say that you want to keep your love-life private - I'm your friend and I have to watch out for you. And clearly, by your little display just now, whatever thing you have for our dear professor is more than just a silly crush. And that isn't good, even if you think to the contrary." Pausing for a moment, Stella then said, knowing that unfortunately, it was time to give Flora a dose of tough love, "Sorry, sweetie, but right now you've got to get your nose out of whatever fairytale you're living in and see how the world really is. There are things called boundaries that shouldn't be crossed! And hello, teacher-student relationships? Big no-no. You can try to tell me that this is just a crush, but come on, Flo, this is me. I can tell when you're bluffing. So come on...talk to me. Please?"
