"Almost all the time, Bloom," Flora said. "He does teach a subject that is important to me as a nature fairy."

Well, that didn’t work. Oh well, it was a fairly common occurrence. Back at her old school, she remembered this one teacher that all the guys were just crazy over. It used to annoy all the girls in her class something fierce. Unfortunately, there were no male teachers at her school worth swooning over.
School girl crushes happened all the time, but it was the same thing as crushing on an actor on television: nothing could ever come of it. Although in these cases, if it did... hoo boy, bad news.
“You’re a better fairy than me, Flora. Some days I can barely keep my eyes open!”

Catching the latter end of Bloom and Flora's conversation, Stella plopped down on a seat next to her friends as she said teasingly, "Well, the normal people always fall asleep in his class but the freaks of nature - aka Flora and Tecna - never miss a word." Craning her neck as she searched the dining hall for signs of the magenta-haired fairy, Stella shrugged before turning back to her breakfast. "Anyhow, enough about class - talking about it always bums me out this early in the morning. Especially since," at this Stella winced, "first class of the day for me is some fighting technique something or other with Griselda. I swear, that woman hates me. I mean, sure, I told her that her wardrobe was pretty drab, but you'd think she'd thank me for the suggestion to add a bit of color instead of biting my head off!" Clearing her throat, Stella continued in her best Griselda voice as she dramatically pressed her hand to her chest, "Ms. Stella, if you spent half the time on your studies as you do on fashion, perhaps you would not be in danger of not passing your classes! Hmph. Perhaps I ought to speak to your father."
Rolling her eyes comically at the other two fairies, Stella then took a bite of her toast.

"I thought you were supposed to have that magical cooking class?" Flora asked, seemingly confused, her cheeks tinted a rich crimson from Stella's teasing. The girl meant well, most of the time, but Flora usually felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed when she was the subject of one of Stella's "well meaning gibes".
"Anyway, I can't afford to fall asleep in Palladium's class. I am a nature fairy and he has been focusing on nature. And since I'm not a princess like the rest of you, I tend to," here she shyly stammered, "well, my mother runs a shop back home that does organic makeup and organic perfumes and some of the potions he teaches I send back home, to help with my mother's shop."

Having just taken a mouthful of juice when Stella started her tirade, Bloom almost spit it out across the table at the Griselda impression. Managing to swallow it down, she choked and sputtered a little in between her giggling.
“Oh, Stella, remember what happened last time you tried to give fashion advice to those that don’t want it!” Bloom exclaimed, trying to get her laughter in check. “Somehow I think Griselda could dish out worse punishment than some cruel, foot-in-mouth spell.”
Holding a hand to her throat, she cleared it and shook her head. Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, she quickly gave Flora an apologetic look.
“Really, Flora? That’s so cool! You know, my mom runs a flower shop back on Earth. You should totally come home with me sometime to see it. I know you’d love it!”

At Flora's mention of her mother, Stella felt a sharp stab of sadness in her chest as she wished for the umpteenth time that her relationship with her own mother could be as good as her friend's. Being a princess certainly had its perks, but sometimes Stella could easily picture herself giving it all up if she could just have a normal family again. Flora may have thought that her life wasn't as interesting as the lives of princesses, and maybe she was right, but when it came down to it, sometimes having a boring life wasn't so terrible. At least when you're were a 'nobody' - at least in the eyes of the press - you didn't constantly have to put up with seeing news about your parents' split-up all over the covers of tabloids.
Quickly masking the sadness she felt behind a cheerful smile, Stella remarked, "Yeah, the cooking class fell through; perhaps it's a good thing, though - because you both know that I'd pretty much end up eating two breakfasts every day: our normal one and then whatever I would make in class." Laughing, she added, "And as lucky as I am to be able to eat and eat and not gain an ounce, I suppose even I would end up turning into a blimp after a few weeks."
Turning back to Bloom, Stella continued indignantly, "But I'll have you know, everyone loves my fashion advice - it just take some people longer to appreciate it than others, that's all."

“They all love it, they just don’t know it yet,” Bloom teased. “Just you wait, Flora. One day, our lovely Stella won’t just rule Solaria, but the entire fashion universe!” she continued, thrusting her butterknife into the air triumphantly.
In fact, it wasn’t such a far fetched tale. At the risk of a cheesy rhyme, fashion was Stella’s passion, and Bloom would probably put money on the fact that one day people would be falling all over themselves to mimic her look.

Flora blinked. "I can't picture you gaining weight at all, Stella. It's like your body's programmed to keep you in that built," she said, laughing quietly. She picked up her cup of tea and sipped it slowly, before lowering it so she could yawn. "Goodness, I hope I can wake up soon, I don't want to fall asleep in class. That would be embarrassing..."
Her grass green eyes widened as she caught sight of Stella leafing through her notebook and coming across a doodle of Professor Palladium she had done in a fit of boredom in the margin of one of the pages.
"Uh... I can explain..."

Lifting her brows, Stella leaned back in her chair as she crossed her arms sourly over her chest. "Why do I feel like I'm out of the loop on things right now? Because you know, Flo, I'm pretty sure that you're the only one in this school drawing little cutesy pictures of Professor Bore-a-lot." Never one to be subtle, Stella then demanded, "You don't like him, do you? Because that's way gros- weird. I mean, he's practically ancient. And besides, what about Helia? I thought you two really hit it off! And what's more, what makes him great is that he's totally available and our age."

Taking a peek over at Flora’s notebook, Bloom grimaced. If Flora had gotten upset at her reaction, this was not going to be pretty. Stella had the tendency to go overboard.
Which was why Bloom was pleasantly surprised that her friend tried to rein it in, and then shifted the topic to a much more suitable suitor. A topic Bloom was more than happy to jump on.
“Not to mention totally cute,” Bloom said with a teasing grin toward Flora. Suddenly, her whole face lit up with a smile as an idea hit her. “Oh, we should totally go on a double date!”
Looking over at Stella, she quickly amended with ever more excitement, “Or triple date, even! That way you could spend some time with Helia and get to know him, but without the added pressure of being alone together. Like if there’s a lull in the conversation, we could fill it and get you right back on track!”

Flora mechanically picked up her cup of tea and drank it slowly, before setting the tea cup down with an audible "clink". It was quite clear that the nature fairy was trying to keep her fabled calm intact. Something that was not an easy task with both Bloom and Stella shoving Helia down her throat.
A few of the flowers on the table started to pull themselves free of the pot, trying to do something - just what that something was, was anybody's guess.
And directly behind Palladium a long dead bouquet of roses sprung back to life.

Sighing, Stella picked up her own drink as she said with a slight pout, "No need to get all huffy on us, Flo; Bloom and I just trying to look out for your best interests. And honestly, having a thing for," at this Stella glanced around the room to make sure no one else besides the three of them were listening, "you know who is not so smart. I would have thought that you of all people would know that."
Leaning back in her seat once more, Stella crossed her long legs as she, in a rare moment, fell into a silence. The truth was, even if her approach with Flora was a bit...abrasive, she really did care about her friend's well-being. And having a crush on someone totally unattainable was never a good thing for a girl. It just caused way too much heartache.
But when it came right down to it, Stella had to admit she was shocked with this developing situation with Flora. The idea that Flora, who was always so moral and righteous and would never even so much as skip class just for the hell of it, would put herself in such an utterly rule-breaking predicament was baffling.

Flora’s silence was enough to kill Bloom’s excitement. It seemed like the perfect solution to her, but it was obvious that Flora didn’t feel the same way. It was weird seeing her friend appear almost angry! Flora was always so level headed and peace keeping. It usually took a lot to make her angry, like an attack by Icy, Darcy and Stormy, but a little gentle teasing normally just made her blush.
This was a lot more serious than Bloom had ever expected. Not good. Not good at all.
And now even Stella was being quiet. The silence was thick as fog, and when Bloom accidentally knocked her knife off the table, the clattering was enough to make her wince.
“Stella’s right, Flora. We’re you’re friends and we don’t want to see you get hurt,” she finally said.

It was at this moment that Tecna chose to join her friends; however, despite the tension amongst the girls that was probably by now very obvious to everyone else in the dining hall, Tecna seemed oblivious to it all. Instead, as she took her usual seat next to Flora and set her breakfast tray down on the table, she immediately began to chatter animatedly in a way that was more characteristic of Stella than her usual self. "Oh, you guys, you would not believe what I did to my computer last night! Talk about a major upgrade. It runs at least three times faster than it did before and that's even with this massive program Timmy had me download a couple weeks ago." Pausing to take a bite of her omelet and a sip of her orange juice, she then continued, her eyes shining, "I won't bore you with the tiny details, but let's just say that this is the best present I could have ever gotten myself! And it's not even my birthday!"
Sighing with pleasure, she propped her chin up in the palm of her hand as she continued to steadily finish off her breakfast. When she received no immediate response to what she saw as major news, however, Tecna finally glanced around at her friends and noticed that something was amiss. Setting down her fork and then carefully wiping the corners of her mouth with her napkin, Tenca then asked with lifted brows, "All right. What exactly is going on here?"

"Bloom and Stella decided that my lovelife or lack there of or whatever you'd like to call it is a topic worthy of discussion," Flora said calmly. The flowers managed to finally pull themselves free of the pot and started to "walk" about the table, knocking plates off right and left. The nature fairy merely closed her eyes and hoped that the plants would just *stop*.
That and she hoped her friends wouldn't comment on her little "tantrum".
