Flora blinked her sightless green eyes. "I did what?" she asked, sounding very dumbfounded. "I don't remember doing that." She shuddered. "I take it I was out of control...?"

Palladium laughed good-naturedly, "That would be quite the understatement, Flora. If I remember correctly, your mother made a remark that you reminded her of Demeter after she had lost her daughter to Hades."

Flora turned a rich shade of crimson. "Oh, no.." she breathed. "I've never lost control that badly," she whimpered. "Never." She wasn't going to cry. "Oh, I have a feeling that if Miss Griselda had seen that I would have been expelled on the spot or worse."

Seeing Flora's genuine distress, Palladium gently took her hand and replied quietly, "It happens to the best of us so don't be too hard on yourself. Don't linger on it; just move past it and let it go; it's for the best."

Flora nodded slightly. Right, forget about the fact that you nearly killed the woman the professor was in love with, nearly turned him into a tree and ripped a garden to shreds. Easy. Simple. Everyone should forget that. She took a calming breath. "She isn't angry with me?"

"Who, Cora?" Palladium asked, a frown marring his forehead. "I wouldn't think so, but I also don't speak for her. That's something you'll have to discuss with her yourself, I'm afraid."

OOC: ::has a plot bunny - will share with you later once I get the thing to make sense XD::
Flora nodded and frowned a moment. Her legs were burning. "Uh.. Professor, why do my legs feel like they're on fire?" The areas where the roses had slashed her during her punishing herself were still bleeding and looked raw and bloody.

Palladium frowned as he noticed the blood trickling down her legs from her gashes. It looked bad, but not overly serious . . . but Flora's question bothered him; true, her cuts should hurt, but not immensely. Shaking his head, he replied, his voice nonplussed, "I don't know . . ."

"You know, some days, I wish I never got out of bed," she said, her hands touching the bloody wounds. "And you know, today's one of those days."

Palladium smiled distractedly; at the moment, he was more concerned with Flora's health than with her words. Gently, he asked, "Do you think you can stand? If so, perhaps you can walk to your mother and have her soothe your wounds. Or better yet, would you rather have her come over to you?"

"I think I can stand," Flora said. She placed her hand on his shoulder and slowly stood. She closed her eyes tighter. "Okay, standing. Let's see if I can walk without making a fool out of myself."

Grasping her arm, Palladium carefully helped Flora maneuver around any potential hazards as he led her toward Wysteria. Reaching her mother, Palladium asked, concern in his voice, "I noticed that Flora has some wounds on her legs and she has told me that they are quite painful; I was wondering if perhaps there is something you can do ease the pain? I could use magic, but I believe that perhaps Flora's body has endured enough magic to last quite a while and that it would be better to use a more natural remedy."

: Wysteria mentally frowned. She never heard of cuts made by rose thorns behaving in such a fashion. "Yes, I think I could whip something up to ease the pain." With that, Wysteria rose and started to gather some of the pre-removed flowers and started to whip up some herbal remedy to deal with the pain.

Relieved that Wysteria would be able to help Flora, Palladium started at the feel of a hand being tucked into the crook of his arm. Looking down, he smiled affectionately at the face that was tilted up at him, and asked, "How are you feeling, Cora?" Cora laughed softly, and replied, "I've had better days and I've had worse; my ankle's a little sore but I think it'll be perfectly fine tomorrow." Noticing Flora, she asked politely, her voice neither friendly nor malicious, "And how are you feeling?"

"Lost," Flora said quietly. She kept her sightless eyes trained on the ground, not daring to look up at the woman talking to her. She felt sick. She hurt her and no matter how much the professor denied it - she somehow knew he'd end up marrying the elf. What was that conversation they had on the train...? That his people didn't believe in interrealm marriage.
