OOC: Follows the Recouping Sky thread
Sky paced back and forth in the Observatory, a place he inevitably found himself drawn to when he needed to think. And right now he definitely needed to think because Christine was gone. Somewhere. She was gone somewhere. But where? And who would even try to capture her? And for what purpose?
Sky didn't want to acknowledge the suspicion he had - it was too much. Because, if what he thought was true then Christine was in a great deal of danger. And that was too painful a thought to bear.
Rubbing his temples, Sky closed his eyes, trying to block out the mental images that were swarming his mind: Christine . . . and Darkar. In Shadowhaunt. It was the only plausible lead he had at the moment. It all made sense - Christine was a seer; she would be useful to someone like Darkar. He'd use her and her visions and he'd make himself more powerful - more unstoppable.
Slumping down against a wall, Sky buried his head in his hands. So now what? Was he going to go run off to Shadowhaunt to rescue Christine? Was he that stupid? Was he willing to risk his life for her? Because that was exactly what he would be doing by even stepping a foot into Darkar's castle.
He didn't know. But he couldn't wait - not when Christine's safety was on the line. Standing up, Sky walked out onto the balcony and stared out across the horizon. He could always go to Saladin and Codatora - he could hand this problem over to them and then his hands would be clean and free from responsibility. Sky lowered his eyes. No, he couldn't do that. He couldn't hand this over to his teachers because, although they cared about their students, they were not quick to act. They would plot and plan and not take action until every detail was perfect - and by then, who knows what would have happened to Christine. No, he'd have to do this on his own.
Fumbling in his pocket for a scrap of paper and a pen, Sky quickly scrawled a note to Saladin telling him that Christine needed his help and that he'd be back in due time. No details. It was better that Saladin not know what he was planning.
Leaving the Observatory, Sky slipped into the main building of Red Fountain and headed toward Saladin's office. Quietly, he pushed the note under the door and then took a few dancing steps backward before turning and running toward the nearest exit.
Fifteen minutes later, Sky had prepped his levabike, secured his helmet, and had taken off - heading in the direction of Shadowhaunt.
