Demeter watched and furrowed her brow at hearing the conversation. The seer had been keeping quiet about that. Sky would have to do a better job at getting information out of the seer. She decided that furthering spell would be amusing.

"All right, good," Layla replied, her voice tense. Giving Bloom an encouraging smile, she added, "We can do this. Remember - just like we did it in class, okay? Okay then - let's go!"
Holding out her hands, Layla let out a fierce cry as she focused on sending her energy out to meet Bloom's.

Gathering her power around her, Bloom focused on a point between herself and Layla and poured her energy into it. Bloom was so focused on the convergence spell that she did not hear what Demeter was saying.

Demeter continued the spell, mentally sharing with her master exactly what was transpiring. 'What do you think, my master? Maybe if she becomes a full mermaid, her powers would be easier for you to steal,' she thought. She mentally laughed. "Poor little fish girl."

Layla gritted her teeth as she put her whole heart into the power convergence. She wasn't going to let Demeter hurt Bloom. She had already lost Flora to the darkness and she wasn't willing to lose another friend. Not now. Not ever.
Crying out slightly, Layla felt as though her body would snap at any moment from the sheer power of the energy coursing through her body. Stubbornly pushing aside the tightness, Layla narrowed her eyes, and, like Bloom, focused on a point between them to send her energy to, feeling pure joy when she saw that the convergence was actually working.

'Impressive. If it is not possible to take her power away at least she will be trapped in one location. Then we could convince her to join us.' Darkar responded.

Demeter watched the magic work and was pleased that Darkar was happy with what she had done. She idly wondered how fishy the mermaid was going to get. Oh, this was perfect. She couldn't believe how pathetic were pixies were and was amazed that she had been friends with these little do gooders.
"You should be lucky you're fighting me and not Sky. He totally wiped up the floor with Red Fountain. Even stole Riven's strength."

"Lucky to be fighting you instead of Sky, I really don't see how." Bloom responded as her wings grew smaller as the spell grew stronger. Pouring more energy into the floating bubble of Dragon Fire and Morfix, hopefully the spell would be strong enough to discourage Demeter.

"He nearly killed a few of the Red Fountain boys and he's none too gentle when dealing with his precious little fairy princess. Red Fountain's hidden treasure - its seer," she said, laughing. She knew Bloom's weakness was Sky.

"Ignore her, Bloom," Layla called out, overriding the sound of Demeter's voice. "She's just trying to get to you. Just keep focusing, okay? We're almost there. Just think of all the people who are important to you - you're fighting for them. They need you. Flora, Sky - they need you to rescue them. We can do this. We can defeat this thing."

"And that is just it, the boys over at Red Fountain were just using brute strength and since Sky was their leader he would know all their weaknesses." Bloom said, trying to ignore the comment about Sky's fairy princess. Giving a tight smile to Layla, Bloom once again focused on the ball of energy.

Demeter could see the spell on Bloom was getting stronger. 'Master, how much longer before she reaches full little mermaid status?' she asked. She couldn't help but continue to taunt. "I think he offered her a chance to join us, join him." She laughed. "She's far more demure and prettier then you. She's known him since they were children."

"And how would you know what pretty is?" Bloom asked, slowly starting to lose her temper. "What did it take for you to abandon those that you call your friends? What is your sell out price?"

Demeter's eyes narrowed. "Friends?" she snorted. "Please don't treat me like I'm stupid. I honestly can't believe you thought I didn't hear those whispers about how I was the weakest link."
She looked amused. "But Darkar saw how powerful I could be. He's given me a chance to show you that I'm far more powerful then you ever dreamed." She chuckled. "Especially after he gave me this gift," she added, brushing her hand against her Gloomix.

"Oh that's right poor little Flora, always the weakest link. Of course we never cared for you and all those times that we listened to you and celebrated you and your victories were nothing." Bloom retorted her anger growing even more. Raising one eyebrow, "You think a pin is a good gift. Next he will be giving you a pink heart purse to match it." Bloom's anger was giving her more power to put into the spell.
