"So for something unpredictable, what the hell happened with you and Kev the other day?" Tash inquired, changing the subject as she got to her feet and followed him out of the water. "We've got time, we need to dry off a little before either of us go back to school."

Eris-an sighed, wringing out his hair again. "We fought and that is all." Keeping his back to Tash he took off his shirt, squeezing the water out, and hung it over a low hanging tree branch

"No that's not all. The two of you never fight." Tash remarked wondering just how far she was going to have to push. "But from the way you both reacted, something about the relationship between the two of you..." She trailed off and waited to see what he would say in response to that.

Eris-an put his head down, "I thought she loved me... no that is not right... I hoped that she could love me. But it was a dream," he sighed, then more quietly, "A stupid dream."

"Ris, it's not that she doesn't love you it's just not in the way that you want." Tash softly started out. "She thought that she might have been able to grow to love you the way you wanted but it didn't turn out that way." Tash continued, walking over to him and putting a hand on his shoulder. "The last thing she wanted to do was to hurt you. But somewhere in it she did and knowing that she's did is hurting her."

Eris-an sighed, "I know it Tash. I have gone through it all over and over again in my head." he ran a hand through his hair, "I know in my heart I have to let her go in that way, but my mind just refuses to allow it."

"Or is it the other way around? Your mind knows what it should do but your hearts not ready to let someone like her go. I don't know a whole lot about love and truthfully I'm grateful for it. But Ris you have to do what's best for the both of you and if there's anyway I can help you come to terms with it I'll help."

"I've offered so it's there and just as a head up, Donovan and I'm betting your parents will be here in the next couple of weeks." Tash paused waiting to see just what sort of reaction that was going to get.

"Brutish and hot-headed." He answered. "Mother is the real voice of reason, she is the one that makes sure he doesn't do anything too rash. That is why I hope it is just her, father would start a war." he chuckled.

"How did two so opposite people get married? And a war? Isn't that a little extreme?" Tash asked, the idea of starting a war over something as trivial as this confused her.

Eris-an shrugged, "I'm afraid it is something even I do not understand between them, especially since it is a love match and not an arrangment." he chuckled, "and no he would not start a war. He might want to but he would not."

"Well it would be a little hard to start a war against one of his own Lord's. General of the army." Tash giggled, pretty sure that was Donovan's title. "How'd the king get to have a marriage that wasn't arranged but yet your lower nobles do?"
