: "I hope you haven't forgotten my curse, royal family of Eraklyon," Ribestaus's voice rang out from somewhere in the room. "But if you have, let me refresh your memory. Thy family brings this curse on thee. Glory, power, greed have made a beast of thee. So from dusk to dawn thou shalt prowl the night in shape and nature of a beast until a woman's pure love sets thee free." A dark laugh rang out in the room. "And I daresay, my curse shall reawaken... * NOW!*"

"Can someone fill the two outsiders in?" Christine asked quietly. "What is he talking about? What curse?" She massaged her throat a bit. Somehow, she had a feeling it was going to be a very long week.
Was that fur or was she simply seeing things?

As the elf's words were spoken, Aldrich took a step back as he gasped in shock. His skin going ghostly white, Aldrich shook his head as he whispered to himself, "It can't be . . . but it is. There is no other explanation; my eyes are not deceiving me. It is him. In the flesh. I always thought he was just family folklore . . . that he was just a story my father had told me just as his father had told him . . . but it isn't. He is real. Ribestaus is real."

Christine felt a massive headache forming. Okay, so this elf was an old relation of Sky's family. Spiffy. Just spiffy. So, why was he angry? This was just too much for her. "Okay, question. Why did he try to kill me?" she asked quietly. "I'm not in your family so his quarrel shouldn't be with me, right? I mean, the only connection I have to your family is that I'm friends with Sky."
She massaged her throat again, her throat still feeling far too tender. And was Sky transforming? Somehow, that wasn't a good sign... "Sky? Are you okay?"
