: A small ball of light flittered and fluttered about the room, looking for a place to land. Seeing that the floor was cluttered, the ball of light let out a string of unladylike swearing and settled down, reforming as a tall young woman, who currently had someone's blouse on her head. Ripping it off her head, and flinging it away, the figure glanced about, sighed and shook her head in irritation. "You'd think a passle of hunter hounds had a field day in here," she said with a light sniff, carefully stepping over a pile of clothing. She had insisted on going in person, rather than as a simple holomessage - although, at this point, she was beginning to regret actually going. Her chocolate-brown eyes alighted on a sleeping figure and she lightly poked their arm. "Paging, Sleeping Beauty. Wake up, Sleeping Beauty," Wanda said, poking Stella's exposed arm. OOC: tag Stella

It was early in the morning, but once again, Bloom couldn’t sleep. The nightmares were getting worse, and they were no longer just about the destruction of Sparx. More recent events were creeping into her dreams, distorted and perplexing, and the lack of sleep was really starting to affect her classes.
Thinking that maybe some reading would help her get back to sleep, she grabbed her book and headed to the common room, not wanting to wake Flora with the light. The room was silent, but just before she could settle in on the couch, she saw a bright light filtering out through the crack under Stella’s door. Taking a few steps closer, the light was soon accompanied by some fairly impressive cursing.
Gripping the door handle, Bloom turned it slowly and cautiously opened the door a crack.
“Stella?” she queried.

: "Close, not quite though," Wanda said, glancing down at the floor, trying to step over something before tripping and landing square on her bottom. She closed her eyes tightly, counted to ten, and then reopened her eyes slowly, all the while silently chanting that she wasn't going to curse out the princess. "Does she always sleep this soundly?" Wanda asked. "Oh, right, introductions. I'm Wanda, the message bearer for the royal family of Solaria. And," casting a weary glance about Stella's room, "decidedly not her housekeeper. How does she keep track of what she's wearing if it's all scattered about this place?"

Wincing at the painful looking landing, Bloom unconsciously rubbed her own rump to ward off the phantom pain. She’d taken several similar dives since she’d been back and it never felt good.
“Yeah, well, if there’s no big party or date that she needs to get ready for twelve hours early, trying to wake her can be like trying to wake the dead,” Bloom said in a hushed voice, glancing over at Stella. In truth, she figured it had been another late night of research for her friend regarding Brandon. Bloom helped when she could, but so far, no good.
“I think she has a fashion radar,” she replied with a smile. “It’s nice to meet you, Wanda. I’m Bloom, Stella’s friend.”
A message bearer from Solaria? Hmm...

: "And speaking of parties, that's exactly why I'm here," Wanda said cheerfully. "I come with a message from the Solarian Royal Family in regards to a very special matter for Princess Stella. The Royal Court is pleased to announce that they are having a Princess Ball for Princess Stella and that his majesty, King Radius, has a very special announcement for Princess Stella, which he'll announce at her party."

A princess ball? A ball dedicated to Stella?
“This is so awesome!” Bloom squealed. This was exactly what Stella needed right now. Her family, her home, and a party to take her mind off of everything. Glancing over at her still sleeping friend, Bloom thought of just letting her sleep. Stella needed it after everything... but she would so want to hear this news as soon as possible! Especially the part about this mysterious announcement her father had for her. Hmm, what could it possibly be.
“I think this is something she’ll really want to hear, but... you might want to stand back. This could get ugly,” Bloom warned. Time to wake the sleeping beauty... or would it be beast? Hard to tell yet. Approaching the bed, she suddenly leapt on it and started shaking Stella while bouncing up and down, very much and purposefully reminiscent of their reunion when Bloom had returned. “Stella... Stella, wake up! You’ve got company!” she singsonged.

"Oomph," Stella groaned as she curled up into a ball and buried her head deeper under her pillow. Whoever was bouncing on her bed was being very rude indeed. Couldn't they tell that she just wanted to be left alone to get her beauty sleep? She needed it, after all. No one could look as good as she did without a full eight hours of it.
And yet the bouncing continued, sending the pleasant dream she had been having of her cupcake far, far back into the recesses of her mind. Lingering on the brink of being woken, she mumbled in irritation, "Trying to sleep. Go away."
That didn't seem to work, though. Whoever it was that was disturbing her must really want her attention - and had to be after a death wish. Because-
Her eyes snapping open suddenly, Stella's vision remained unfocused for a moment, the world one fine blur of various colors, before it cleared and she saw Bloom hovering over her. Noticing the goofy look on Bloom's face, Stella felt her irritation vanish and instead she rolled her eyes and playfully hurled her pillow at her friend. It was only after she missed her mark and the pillow went flying across the room that Stella noticed another presence in her room.
A bright smile flashing across her face, Stella scurried out of her bed as she cried, "Wanda! What are you doing here?" The messenger's presence was completely unexpected and for a brief moment, a flash of fear shot through Stella's body as she wondered if something had happened to her father. But just as quickly that thought vanished. Bloom wouldn't look so excited if something bad had happened. Certainly whatever news Wanda was bringing was something good.
"Tell me, tell me," Stella exclaimed impatiently as she danced back and forth on her feet. "Does Daddy have a surprise for me? Oh, I bet that's it, right?!"

This wasn’t working. Stella seemed perfectly intent to just brush her off with a few words and continue sleeping. Part of Bloom felt bad for trying to wake her friend when she was sleeping so soundly, but this was important! She was sure the wrath of Stella would be much worse if she didn’t wake her and let Wanda leave than if she did. So far, they didn’t even know the date of the party, and if Bloom cost Stella any time to get packed and ready to go, there would be hell to pay.
So instead of going away as she was told, she just shook her harder.
“Stella!” she called, this time rather loud and sharp. That did it. Seeing Stella’s eyes pop open, Bloom grinned at her. Hopefully if she just kept smiling, she would live another day. Squealing suddenly as a pillow came flying at her, she ducked, giggling. The second Stella spotted Wanda, the blonde princess was on her feet.
Listening to the spiel again, it was weird to hear the exact words repeated. Apparently Royal messengers took their jobs very seriously. It was like a broken record! Neat.
Not venturing to interrupt, Bloom only gave Stella a “Now aren’t you glad that I woke you?” look.

Clapping her hands together much like a child would upon receiving a particularly wonderful present, Stella exclaimed in sheer delight, "I'm having a Princess Ball? Oh, this is going to be fantastic! Oh! But there's so much to do . . . I have to find a dress and to get my hair done and-"
Quickly turning her attention to Wanda, Stella asked breathlessly, "How much time do I have to prepare? Hopefully Daddy knows me well enough by now that he wouldn't possibly expect me to get ready on short notice." Not waiting for an answer, Stella swiveled around to face Bloom as she said, "In any event, I'm going to need your help to get me looking my best - but don't worry, there'll be fun in it for you too. Because you know there's no way that I'm going to have my party without you there, Bloom. And that means that you get a gorgeous dress too - courtesy of Daddy, of course." Her smile radiating happiness, Stella finished, her eyes sparkling, "You're absolutely going to love Solaria, Bloom. I just know it."

: Wanda visibly relaxed after delievering that message. At the request for a date, she blinked. Uh, right. He.. Oh, yes, yes of course. She gave herself a mental shake. "His majesty indicated that it would be two weeks from the date the message was delievered. And he informed me of my duty last night. I would have arrived then but I took a wrong turn and landed in Esparo before I realized that I goofed. Luckily, it was an easy detour. Very scenic."

"Two weeks?" Stella asked incredulously before she shook her head ruefully. "I suppose two weeks is better than nothing but, Bloom, we're going to have our work cut out for us! As princess of Solaria, I can't wear just anything to my ball; it has to be perfect in every single way. Color. Cut. Design. Everything."
Momentarily lingering on thoughts of her perfect dress, her eyes taking on a dreamy glazed appearance, Stella then shook her head as she asked, "Wait, Wanda, did you say that my father had a surprise for me? And that he's going to announce it at my party?..."
Wondering if Wanda knew what the announcement was, Stella asked in a wheedling tone, "Sooo...have any idea what it might be?" Unable to keep the eagerness out of her voice, though, Stella practically begged, "If you know, Wanda, you can tell me. I promise that I'll still pretend to be surprised when Daddy announces it at my party, but I just have to know now. The suspense is killing me! Although," at this, a light seemed to dawn on Stella as she suddenly said with a radiant smile, "I bet you anything I know what it is! Of course; it's the only thing that makes sense! Daddy is totally going to announce that he and mother have reconciled and that they're getting remarried!"

: "Your guess is as good as mine, your majesty," Wanda said sheepishly. "All I know is that the king has been, well, glowing, for the past few days because he's been so happy. Of course, I'm just a mere message bearer and not privy to the inner workings of the court."

Seeing Stella so happy and excited was as good as a spell for a permasmile... if there was such a thing. Stella deserved to be happy, and now more than ever she needed a boost with that. This was the most perfect timing ever.
If possible, Bloom’s smile became even brighter at the invite. An honest to goodness royal ball? An event that should would actually get to dress up and feel like the princess she was supposed to be? This was so awesome!
“Thanks, Stella!” she managed to squeeze in before Wanda’s answer about the time frame launched Stella into fit of breathless talking. Bloom had never met someone who could talk so much and so fast without breathing. If she tried, she knew she’d pass out.
At this point, she thought it was best to just nod along... even if two weeks seemed like way more than enough time to get ready for any event, bar maybe a wedding.
If anything, though, the best bit of news about this whole thing was Stella’s guess as to what her father’s announcement would be. How awesome would that be if she was right?
“This is so awesome, Stella! Do you really think that’s what it is?”

Not even hesitating for a moment, Stella nodded her head emphatically. "That has to be it. I can just feel it, you know? And besides," Stella continued with a toss of her shiny blonde locks, "it's not like Daddy would ever announce something bad at my party. No, if he's going to make a special announcement in front of the whole Solarian court, it has to be something major. And what could possibly be bigger than announcing his and mother's reconciliation?" Pausing for a moment, Stella tapped her chin before she continued, "But it makes sense, you know, when you think about it. If he and mother are getting back together, they'll need to announce it officially and my Princess Ball will give them the perfect opportunity to do just that." Grinning, Stella laughed as she said, "See? Tecna isn't the only one who can think things through logically!"
