"Well, isn't that sweet?" Diaspro said with a laugh. "Since both you and Sky have said such nice things about her, I should like to meet this Christine." Curiously peering around, Diaspro asked, "Where is she?" "She was just here." Bloom responded biting the inside of her lip to keep from saying more, just before Christine appeared. "We were just talking about the wonderful job you did for Sky's party."

"I agree with Bloom and Sky; everything is just peachy," Diaspro replied as she turned her attention to Christine. Arching a brow, she asked with a mischievous glint in her eye, "You wouldn't be Christine, would you?"

"Yes, yes, I am," Christine said. She had no idea what has going to happen and she didn't feel like having a vision to find out. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Holding out her hand, Diaspro smiled pleasantly, as she replied, "I am Princess Diaspro of Chalcedony, an old . . . friend of Sky's."

"Lady Christine Strongheart," she said, taking the offered hand. Hopefully, the young woman didn't believe the gossip papers. She really didn't need that hassle.

Innocently, Diaspro bit her lip as she said, "You look quite familiar - and yet, I don't think we've . . . oh. Yes, now, I remember where I recognize you from - the tabloids, of course." Giving a light laugh, Diaspro waved her hand dismissively, as she added, "They're quite amusing, don't you agree? I mean, the way they invent things out of thin air as though it was the truth - still, it makes for a fun read, I think."

"Yeees...." Christine said, looking a bit worn at the mention of the tabloids. She glanced over at Bloom and Sky. He had better keep his mouth shut.

Feeling uncomfortable, Sky glanced at Christine before he turned back to Diaspro and quickly asked, to cut off further talk of the tabloids, "So how are things back home? I hope your parents are doing well."

The look in Christine's eyes was a clear warning that they were not going to talk about the gossip papers, ever. "If you don't mind, I think I'm going to check on the rest of the guests..." she started, before stopping.

Smiling knowingly, Diaspro replied, seeming to play along with Sky's attempt to change the subject, "They're doing wonderfully and I shall be sure to tell them that you inquired after their health. They will be very pleased that you did - although you'll still have to do much more than that to win back their full favor." Turning to Christine, she added in clarification, "After Sky broke our engagement last year, it is needless to say that he isn't their favorite person anymore."

"Aah," Christine said, feeling very uncomfortable with the conversation. She glanced about the room - trying to find an escape somehow.

Flora looked at Layla. "I don't hear anything. Maybe they stopped fighting..." she said, clearly hoping for a good outcome. She paused. "I just hope Bloom doesn't do anything that would get Sky angry with her." Layla nodded in response. "Maybe." Pausing for a moment, Layla then added dryly, "I wouldn't normally say this, but I feel kind of bad for Sky - I mean, it's his birthday. You'd think that he'd get at least a day of peace." "I hope it's peaceful, but knowing how much Bloom and Diaspro like each other. I just hope Sky doesn't have to break them apart." Flora sighed. She was a bit confused, especially since Layla had told her about the relationship she had with Professor Palladium. She'd have to talk to him about it. Hopefully, he could explain it.

"Sky, if you don't mind, I'm going to go see if I can find candles for your cake, unless you need me to stay here," Christine said in a quiet whisper. "But you'll owe me big time for this peacekeeping mission."

"No, we'll be fine," Sky replied as he glared at Diaspro, not bothering to conceal the anger he currently felt for her. "In fact, we'll leave because Diaspro and I have some . . . catching up to do." Turning to Bloom, he gave her a curt nod as he muttered, "Excuse us," before taking Diaspro firmly by the arm and dragging her onto the balcony.

"Hey!" Diaspro hissed as Sky painfully pulled on her arm. "What do you think you're doing, hmm? You can't just force me to go somewhere with you." With a sneer, she added, "In case you've forgotten, Sky, you don't have a say in what I do anymore."
