OOC: first up, this NPC - no touchie. Lori gave me (the admin) sole premission to use him because I've written for him before. : Arkady settled down in a chair in a small park, the idea of having an outdoor picnic slash party to get the cast to bond had been a stroke of sheer genius - that and he wanted to use it as a chance to catch up with his friends that he hadn't seen since he finished at Red Fountain two years prior. He popped open a can of soda and sipped it slowly, his notebook ever present in his lap. "Let's see," he murmured to himself. "Isabeau, Isabeau... Hm... Let's see, ah yes, that should do it," he said, as he put down his can of soda and started to write down a few ideas. "Let's see, Isabeau, curious as to where Belle had vanished to, attempts to find her - if only to prove to Gaston that, ah, and then, yes! She gets to the castle and the candlestick finds her and keeps her a secret. Yes, yes, a little difficult but yes, and when the curse is broken, Isabeau sees the true form of the candledstick and they end up in a kiss. A lovely change." There, that should appease Isabeau's player, which if he remembered was Stella. He frowned, he could have sworn she was in the same year as Sky, but then remembered and he chuckled. He wondered if she was still into pink. OOC: tags the cast of the bi-school play. Party!

Christine's eyes brightened when she saw Arkady. "Arkady!" she cried, running over and sitting at his feet. "So, you're the one replacing the old director? Sweetness!" she said, excited. She reached up to snatch his notebook, and was awarded a swat to the back of her hand. "No fair," she sulked.
"So, what do you have planned for the show?" she asked as she leaned over and grabbed a can of soda from the ice chest he had the sodas and various other beverages stashed in.

: Christine's eyes brightened when she saw Arkady. "Arkady!" she cried, running over and sitting at his feet. "So, you're the one replacing the old director? Sweetness!" she said, excited. "When I heard how pathetic the show was turning out, I couldn't resist. You know me, Chris, consummate storyteller. I live for this," Arkady said, laughing. "Besides, anything to help harrass Sky. Heh. Man could use some of my chaos." She reached up to snatch his notebook, and was awarded a swat to the back of her hand. "No fair," she sulked. Arkady chuckled. "That will teach you to try to snitch my notebook while I'm still working on things. And you wondered why you got Belle, little kitten. You're far too curious for your own good." "So, what do you have planned for the show?" she asked as she leaned over and grabbed a can of soda from the ice chest he had the sodas and various other beverages stashed in. "Well, for starters, since I know that Stella was complaining about her lack of screen time, I decided to beef up her role as Isabeau. Give her a bit of romance - with the candlestick. After all, from what I remember, they are seeing each other," Arkady said, stroking Christine's hair as she snuggled against leg. "And I'll have to have Sky take vocal lessons - only so he can whop out two power ballads. Although - there's two versions to one of the ballads so I don't know which to use. There's this one," he said, clearing his throat, "No spell has been broken, no words have been spoken. No point any more if she can't love me. No hope she would do so, no dream to persue so I finally know that I shall always be in this hopeless state. Condemned to wait, wait for death to set me free," Arkady sang in a passable tenor. "That's the version I'm leaning towards. The other version is," he said before clearing his throat again. "No pain could be deeper, no life could be cheaper. No point any more if she can't love me - no hope she would do so. No dream to persue so I look to myself, despise all the things I see for I know that she can not set me free. Let the world be done with me!" He shrugged his shoulders. "I'll let Sky decide which version he likes better and use that. I'm a very open director. And hopefully, we can get a decent actor out of him." He leaned back and thought. "Of course, I'm glad we have fairies in the cast," he added with a laugh. "A few good spells and we could actually make them believe that Sky and the rest of the people in the castle are turned into a beast and household goods."

"I was wondering how we were going to do that, but now that you say that I do believe that we have a fairy that uses illusions. Although I could be wrong." Tash said announcing her presence after catching the tail end of the conversation. Nodding her hello to the pair, Tash briefly looked over the man sitting with Chris.

: "Ah, our Babette shows. I promise not to sing," he laughed, quietly. "Sorry, Chris had a bad habit of putting on earth cartoons and making us sit through them. One cartoon had a French doll named Babette. Who made a kick ass pirate but that's another story," he said with a laugh. He cleared his throat, going serious for a bit. "I'm Arkady. And I," he paused, and gestured to himself, "am your new director."

"I'm better know as Tash and good to see we have a director that cares this time. There is a scene I want scratched from the play, if you want it there then at least make it an invisible one." Tash said getting right to the point before adding, "And Chris still has that bad habit only I haven't seen the Babette one yet."

: Arkady tilted his head. "What scene and I can see what I can do," Arkady said. "Like I said to Chris, I'm a very open director. I'm willing to add and take away whatever is needed."

"The one where the wolves attack Belle and the Beast comes to her rescue. It hit's a little to close to home." Tash said, giving the suggestion that she was the one that couldn't handle that scene. "I also know that it is an important turning point for Belle and the Beast so it may make things a little difficult."

: Arkady arched his eyebrow. "Translation, Chris is scared to death of doing that scene because of what happened between her and Sky when they were children and rather then have me figure that out, you'd cover for her," he correctly surmised. "Well.. I think I can work around that scene. We could have Belle flee the castle, enter the forest, the sound of a growl and fade to black, closing curtain. Open the curtain with the lights focused on Belle and the Beast in the study or wherever and she's patching him up. That sound good to the two of you?" At a small nod from Chris, he grinned. "Excellent. Now, what other problem do you want me to conquer?"

"Got it in one, and yeah that works for me." Tash said as she took another look at Arkady, perhaps there was more to him then she had originally thought, outside of her brother and Kevyn, no one had ever been able to read her quite that quickly. "That's about the only one I'm aloud to complain about for the moment."

: Arkady laughed. "I'm a storyteller by trade, m'lady," he said, grinning. "Now, what other scenes do you want changed? I am beefing up certain roles - like the role of Isabeau so we don't have to worry about her being in a snit."

"I take it you know Stella." Tash commented then asked "Are you a traveling storyteller or one that has made his home in one place and is collecting the stories of that area?" It had been so long since she had encountered a honest to god story teller.

: Arkady laughed. "I'm a good two years ahead of Sky's group so when I was about ready to finish, they were starting out and I believe Stella's supposed to be their year but she blew up a lab and had to stay back," he said, giving an idle shrug. "And as for the kind of storyteller, a little of both. Right now, I've put down roots so I can help out with the play and with my old classmates." His eyes caught the sight of the rest of the cast approaching. "About time you guys got here, I didn't want to start cooking the whole cow and have only three people eating it."

As she quietly approached the merry, laughing group of her fellow cast mates, Karina smoothed her pale yellow sundress and hoped that she had arrived on time; unlike some of the other girls in her class, she had never been fond of being "fashionably late." For someone as self-conscious as herself, having everyone turn to look at her was her worst nightmare. But then again, Karina thought with a wry smile, even if she were to be late to an event, no one would notice. No one ever noticed the wallflowers.
Glancing around at the people nearest her, Karina sighed when she didn't see Flora. She had been hoping that her friend would have arrived by then so that she would have had someone to talk to. As much as she thought that everyone else was pretty nice, they all seemed to have their own cliques and she just wasn't comfortable with butting into places where she hadn't been invited.
Finally deciding to take a seat at an empty bench, Karina opened her purse and pulled out a sketchbook. As of late she had taken up drawing and to her surprise, she had discovered that she actually had a little bit of talent at it - at least when it came to drawing people. She had tried her hand at landscapes but they had all come out an unrecognizable, muddled mess. Casting her eyes around at the people before her, Karina scouted out who would be her latest subject. Noticing an unfamiliar guy, Karina's brow furrowed slightly before she nodded, remembering that Flora had told her that they would be getting a new director. She knew that she probably ought to go over and introduce herself, but decided against it for the time being; he looked busy with the others and since her role in the play wasn't that large, she could wait.

Flora draped her hands over Karina's eyes and giggled softly. "Guess who," she said before lowering her hands and sitting down next to her. "That's the new director," she gestured at the male. "He's a storyteller by trade and a Red Fountain alum. Christine coaxed him into helping since our old director, well," she laughed.
"And I love your dress, lovely." She smoothed her light rose pants suit. "So, let's hope this party is unlike our others," she said with a laugh.
