"Yep." Kevyn said rounding the corner heading toward the orphanage.

"Has it really been that long since I've been to market?" Quinn asked as he took Kevyn's packages so she unlock the gate to the playground.

"Yep." Kevyn answered again, "OK WHO WANTS GOODIES?!" she yelled out once the gate was secure behind Quinn. Like a typhoon 50 little bodies suddenly swarmed the play area. "Hang on, hang on you'll all have to share now." Kevyn said as she passed out they toys she got. Most of the kids weren't necessarily orphans they were just from families too poor to take care of them so they got sent here. It was really a school of unwanted children then anything else, but it might as well be considered an orphanage since these kids' parents often never visited.
A young woman no older then Kevyn approached them, wearing a simple brown dress. "Are those my groceries?" She asked.
"Yeah Arshes they are." Kevyn replied handing over her other bags. "Oh and Quinn's here to help as well."
"Good to see you again Quinn." Arshes greeted, "would you mind watching the children while Kevyn helps me in the kitchen this morning?"

"Greetings Arshes." Quinn said, "of course I won't mind. As long as they don't decide to bury me in the sand again." The last part was directed at 5 or so boys in particular.
"Of course not Master Quinn." They said in union. Arshes and Kevyn laughed.
"Good luck." Arshes called, as she dragged Kevyn off to the kitchens. Quinn stared wistfully after them, Arshes really was a great girl. More then once in the time they'd spent together he'd thought to marry her one day, even went so far as to ask at one time. But she'd told him no, she saw him as a brother more then anything, and the feeling had passed. Now he found himself content to be her friend and happy for the man she would eventually chose.
So the rest of his afternoon was spent chasing around a large group of children and even getting buried in the sand again, much to the amusement of Arshes and Kevyn who had to dig him out.
Too soon though it was time to go home. He said a heartfelt good-bye and kissed Arshes on the cheek, having just told her of his upcoming marriage. She wished him luck and hugged him and that was that. Anything that might have been left over between them was let go of and forgotten about. And he now could marry Anara with a clear conscience.

Dear Goddess could the woman not even walk normally. Donovan rolled his eyes at the theatrical display thanking the Gods that Lady Estel showed no interest in continuing relations once this was over. Turning his attention to the sullen girl he gave her another warm and calming smile, "It seems there is much to discuss." She made to say something but he put a hand up, "Not yet." He said sitting, "Here. Sit and we will talk." She did. "Do you understand what is happening?" He asked kindly wanting to know exactly how much the Lady had hidden from the girl. "I thought I did." Anara said truthfully. "Please don't think ill of me, but the only reason I agreed to this was because Mother had reassured me that this was to be strictly a marriage of convenience and that afterward I would never have to see my husband again if I didn't wish it, that I would be free to do as I pleased."

Donovan listened intently to the girl, who was highly agitated, until she was finished. Staying silent for a moment he thought on her words and tried to think of something that would put her more at ease. But in the end he found it best just to be blunt, "I see. I am sorry that your mother lied to you child but the terms have been set and signed on, I am afraid there is no backing out now." He said. "But the least I can do is tell you exactly what those terms were so that you will have no more surprises."

"Please do." Anara said ready to hear whatever it was that her future in-law had to say. /Finally someone willing to be honest with me/

Donovan smiled, at least the girl was willing to listen, so he sat back and explain the terms of the contract as it was agreed upon. It took quite some time but Anara seemed to hang on and understand every word he said.

Anara sat there taking in every word Lord Donovan said. How was it that so much could be kept from her? By the time the older man had finished Anara found her head was reeling with all the information it had taken in. " Thank you My Lord but I do have one question that was not covered. What about... I mean will we be expected to... right away would we..." Anara found herself stummbling over the question, it was embarrassing to ask but she just had to know.

Donovan put up a hand to halt the girl, he knew what she wanted to ask. "Yes the marriage will need to be consummated, as is law. But please don't feel any pressure to continue with such relations after the first night, if you don't wish it. And it is also required, by the terms in the contract, that you give Quinn at least one heir, " At Anara's horrified look Donovan stood and put a comforting hand on her shoulder, "but I wouldn't worry about that right now, my dear. You and Quinn have many many years yet to decide when the right time will be for that. For now just worry about more important things. Like preparing for the ceremony and settling in here, this is going to be your home form now on after all."

Anara smiled, warily, up at the Lord, "Thank you My Lord. I understand now what must be done and I appreciate your honesty, but forgive me if I am not too over-enthused; this is all very overwhelming." She sighed, "When will I meet my husband to be?"

"I understand Anara. My own wife had much the same feelings as you before our marriage, but believe me when I say that in time you two will get used to the idea of being together and with a bit of luck you might even find love." Donovan said, he was about to say more when raised voices filtered into the room, "As for your husband," he sighed, "that sounds like him now." Moments later the door burst open.

And he now could marry Anara with a clear conscience. The long walk home was quiet and sullen as both twins thought on what they would face when they walked in the door. Quinn for one was glad for the silence, even though he was sure it was killing Kevyn, he needed time to think as the reality of what was about to happen was settling in. But on the other hand he was happy for his sisters company, it was times like these that they seemed the closest to each other.

Kevyn stayed quietly beside her brother, she could feel his need to think and to tell the truth she herself had much to think about. She felt furiously protective of Quinn and hated the fact that he was being forced to endure something that she couldn't help him in. While she'd met Anara a few times and the other girl had seemed nice enough Kevyn still wasn't sure about how she felt about the whole thing. She kinda felt like she was about to loose her brother, even though that was ridiculous they could never be truly separated. Kevyn hoped in time that she could come to except this but she was finding very difficult. They weren't through the front door 2 seconds when they found themselves assaulted by the very forceful woman. "Excuse me." Kevyn said angrily as she was promptly shoved out of the way. "Away with you." Estel said to the unknown girl beside who she could only assume was her daughters soon to be husband. "I'll have you know I am very disappointed in you young man. You should have been here to greet us." Kevyn cut in largely insulted by this stranger. "Excuse me My Lady but we are the ones on time. You're the one that is here ahead of schedule." She said snarly. Estel turned to the girl, "I am not talking to you... am I. Now I do believe I said for you to go away, so off you go." She waved the girl off dismissively. "Excuse me?!" Kevyn said, unable to believe that this woman would have the audacity to dismiss her like she was a fly. And in her own home none the less. Estel rolled her eyes, pausing in her rant to Quinn "Honestly child. Are you hard of hearing? I said get lost." And that was it you could almost hear the snap as Kevyn lost her careful control on her temper. Grabbing the woman and abruptly turning her away from Quinn Kevyn promptly gave her exactly what she deserved. She just hoped that her 'gift' was going to get her in time to make this an easier event to endure.

Even though his Grandfather had told him much about this woman he was still taken by surprise when she suddenly got right into his face and went into a rant about proper etiquite. He never got a word in as Kevyn cut into the Lady's accusations. A short arguement quickly followed as he knew, from the moment the Lady had opened her mouth, that it would. It took all of a minute before Kevyn snapped and gave the Lady a opened handed slap that nearly sent to woman reeling.
They all stood in a stunned silence before the Lady turned on her heel and stormed into the next room.
"Feel better?" Quinn asked, a little put off my his sisters violence.
