Christine was silent for a long moment. She had to contact her grandfather and ask for his aid in trying to find out how to undo what happened to Sky. Granted, this probably wasn't wise - but right now, she didn't care.
A long cream colored silken gown clung to her frame and she moved about the room slowly, the gown swishing as she walked. "Oh, this is ridiculous. I'm being so utterly childish. What am I thinking? Summoning the owls. Oh, Christine, stop entertaining childish beliefs. Honestly, there are barriers between the realms that would prevent them from getting here. And I can't use any of the technology here because there's no modern technology there."
She continued to pace, unaware that two of her teammates (Brandon and Timmy) were standing in the doorway, watching her. "But if I can summon the owls then we can contact Grandpapa Carolinus and we can get some sort of help, perhaps a bit of an understanding of what's going on. Oh, such a bother."
Her pacing got quicker as she continued to rant to herself. "I mean Breog's supposed to be dead. And yet he shows up alive and well and fights with Gorbash causing me to botch a spell in order to save Sky who Breog decides to try to in turn into a Sky pancake on the ground. If this means there's some sort of quest to put things to rights back home, then count me out, Antiquity. I'm not taking my mother's role."
She sighed quietly. "Oh, very well, I summon the damn owls." She walked quickly to the window and flung it open. Well, here went nothing. She leaned out a bit and gave the strange, eerie call that was used to summon the owls and waited.
A small silver owl appeared and tumbled into the room. It blinked its large eyes and gave a small hoot. "Oh, hello," she cooed softly.
Her eyes glanced up from the owl to see her teammates in the door. "Uh, I can explain..." she stammered. As to what she'd explain - well, that was open to debate. Hopefully, they'd ask about the owl and not the dress.

Timmy lifted his glasses up and squinted to make sure he was seeing right, and then readjusted them on his nose to reassure himself of what he was seeing. "Uh, Brandon? Do you see what I see?"

The owl hooted and tilted its head before flying over and landing on Timmy's shoulder. "HoooOooot?" The owl found Timmy's glasses to be quite interesting. "Hooot?"
Christine gave a tiny gulp. Of all the things to have been caught in - something that could pass for her nightgown. Oh bother. She played with one of the sleeves, looking a bit nervous. Well.. they would have no trouble figuring out she was female... And if they did... She mentally shook her head. A neon sign would be a bit much.

"Err... Right." Brandon didn't know what to say on the subject of Chris' dress. He decided not to go into this. He didn't feel the need of the scorn of the woman. But he'd have to talk to her about it. But he was more curious about something else.
"Chris, what's with the owls? Will they help us with Sky's... problem?" He made it sound as if it was something embarassing. To him, it was.
"And... How long have ya been a girl?" Oh great. That sounded stupid. Go Brandon. He slapped himself mentally.

"In answer to question two, all my life I've been female. I just don't have, what's the word, Winx? So, logic dictates that since I don't have," she wrinkled her nose, "Winx, then going to a school that uses Winx like its going out of fashion isn't very logical.."
She took a breath. "And as for the owls, it's the only way I can contact my grandpapa. He might now what to do. He has done this before. I just hope there's no quest involved. Quests are nasty." Not that she had ever been on one but that was neither here nor there, she had heard the stories.

Brandon shrugged. "I thought all girls without winx went on to become witches. Or they'd go to some other fancy school in the other dimensions. Magix isn't the only place with schools. But maybe it appealed to you to be a specialist, doesn't it, Chris?" He raised his eyesbrows.
"Well, best contact your grandpa, because the sooner Sky is himself, the better. Oh, and perhaps it's best to tell Bloom that her... boyfriend is a dragon now." He said to her.

"Guilt me much," she muttered under her breath. "And I will. I just need to write the letter. The realm he's in? No modern technology." She crossed her arms over her chest. "And there's nothing wrong with a woman wanting to be a hero. My Aunt Danielle was an archer and showed her husband up. Of course, they weren't married at the time she showed him up but that's neither here nor there."
She narrowed her eyes a bit. "I know maybe two spells, and that's it. So my becoming a witch, if I could, is a bit tense. Besides, there's only one dark spellcaster in my family and he's supposed to be dead." She gave a tired sigh.
The dull ache was back - she had been suppressing her gift for far too long and it was threatening to come back full force.

Timmy stood stock-still as the owl perched on his shoulder. "He's not...dangerous, is he?" he asked Chris. Frankly, the question of Chris' gender was less important to him at the moment than the potential loss of his ear.

"No, the owl's not dangerous, and even if he does nip, it's a gentle one." She winced slightly, trying to hide the fact that she was feeling a bit of pain. The fact that the sand merks1 were still in the school wasn't helping matters either. She quickly pulled a mask on and hid her pain once more. "So, exactly what shall I tell my Grandpapa? Besides the fact that I went and merged Sky with Gorbash and we don't have a clue as to what to do?"

Timmy still felt nervous about the owl and craned his neck away from the bird. "Um, you can tell him that I think this owl is very nice!" He hoped that would get him in the owl's good graces. "Otherwise ask him if he knows how to undo the spell, and if we'll have to go off-grounds to find it." Then the matter of Chris' identity returned to his mind. "But I have to wonder, how on Earth do you pass the physical exams? Do you bribe the doctor or something?"

"I go to a doctor off campus and he does my physicals. Asides from not being male, everything else is just fine. Thanks for asking," Christine said, a slight look of irritation crossing her features. "Next question about my gender please?"
Christine sat down at her desk and started to write the letter. "I'll be out of class for the next few days. I need to make a personal trip to Earth. There are few things there that I need to pick up," she said absently, forgetting that her gender was the last thing they were talking about. "I promise my absence will not be extended."
She blinked. "Uh, what I meant was, I have to pick up a few quest related items. You'll understand when I bring them back."

Brandon couldn't help laugh at Chris' cross comments of her gender questions. "Come on Chris, you do realize this is a whole new discovery for us. All we need now, is a male fairy at Alfea!"
'But not me.' He thought.
"Do whatever you can, as long as it'll bring Sky back. I'll see if I can ask Saladin for permission of your leave."

"Thank you, Brandon," Christine said, smiling a bit. "I'll also get someone I know who can help Sky. He's been through what Sky went through so he'll be understanding. Besides, what good is a dragon that doesn't know how to be a dragon?"
Heaven forbid there be a quest and if Sky was one of the people to go on it... they'd need him to understand how the dragon's body worked.

"Ooh, good point about the dragon thing." Timmy sighed and shifted his shoulder, as the owl's talons were beginning to tickle him. "I hope Sky doesn't mind living on a diet of raw meat until we fix him."

Christine had opened her mouth to say something but whatever it was going to be died on her lips as soon as Timmy said fix. She struggled to keep down the laughter before it rippled free. "Fixed," she giggled helplessly, waving her hand. "Sorry, sorry, but there's an Earther version of fixed and somehow Sky wouldn't like it."
